Great company to auction cars, I’ve bought and sold with them and never had any issues, my only criticism is that they charge a fee for the seller and the buyer unlike other companies which do one or the other which feels a bit greedy.

BMW Boxer Cup 2004 miss sold deliberately. The company have some good vehicles but some very dishonest practices. They recently sold a BMW Boxer Cup, it was a great bike but they listed it incorrectly, I advised them they had listed it with Ohlin shocks which were an expensive upgrade option when the bike was produced. But this bike had the standard BMW shocks not Ohlins. I requested they amend the advert as it was deceiving potential buyers and the buyer would pay significantly more for an option they simply were not getting. They deleted my comment and did not respond to me. They did not amend the advert and they sold the bike under false pretenses for more than it was worth. All in all deceitful and dishonest. I was not impressed. The buyers name was Pancake… So I hope he sees this review and is compensated buy the buyer or the auction house. Shame on you! Car and Classic asked trust pilot for more detail from me so they could respond. Though there is a lot of detail and I am quite sure they know exactly what I’m talking about I will be even more specific. The boxer cup reg C8PJB in question was listed on their site on the auction and being sold on a separate part of there site for a fixed price on Thursday 1st May and some days before. I used the comments section to inform them of the inaccurate listing and they just deleted the comment. I’m not sure what more detail they need or expect but if they ask me exactly what they need to know I will respond. I can see since then there have been other review questioning the moral fibre of this outfit. Buyer beware.

My experience was on the whole very positive, James the representative of Car & Classic went out out of his way to assist me remained positive when sometimes i felt negative about selling through an auction. He helped me at the end of each auction as cars failed to make reserves, he negotiated final price which led to both cars selling. My experience was positive a quick method of disposing of cars but with a price tag, You have to decide what’s right for you a quick sale but potentially you’ll lose money or a Classic Car buy it now Price and potentially sell for more, could end up being protracted. My intension is to sell a few more cars through the auction, which must suggest I’m pretty satisfied. James was knowledgeable and proactive in my car auctions.

I wanted to list my 2007 Mercedes CLK 350 Sport convertible in the auction format. I completed all the details, provided all the photos taken on my professional Sony A7iv and submitted. I was then informed that my car (low miles low owners, excellent condition) was not suitable for the Auction format. Why ? I moved on and listed on classifieds with Pistonheads and then Car and Classic. I had no problem selling the vehicle at a fair price to a great purchaser. Why do I leave just 3 stars ? Well - someone else's older higher mileage Merc CLK convertible (same model) has been listed as an auction. Inconsistent treatement and assessment I would say - so as a seller - my experience was not that professional. As a buyer - it was pretty good.

Not only their pre-purchase service is very user friendly and excellent to work with, but also the completion of the transaction and the overall communication and reminders is a bliss! Didn't realise the commission was quite so much. Sold a car for £5900 and ended up with just over £4800. The guy buying it said he actually thought it was a scam. I was the one who shared the auction on all over the place on popular groups and people hadn't seen it advertised anywhere else. All in all gutted I didn't just take the time and put my own adverts up on places like auto trader and deal with it myself. Hard lesson learnt at a very high cost to me :(

I was left high and dry when the person I was dealing with left, it cost me a massive delay in selling the car as nobody monitored his mailbox. Ultimately it went well, I dealt with Matt, but it was a frustrating experience.

The car i purchased, has only been driven 2 miles and needs a new clutch , i have only driven the car for approx 2 miles I spoke to Mohammed at Car and Classic and he said there is nothing that they can done, but i do have a legal rights, call the seller. I was hoping for a lot more support than that
