A notre arrivée à budget car rental, nous avons été accueillis par un employé hautain et désagréable, qui n’a fait aucun effort dans la communication, on se demande pourquoi il continue à travailler auprès de touristes s’il n’apprécie pas cette démarche. Nous avons du prendre une assurance supplémentaire car nous n’avions pas de carte de crédit différé alors que cela n’était pas indiqué clairement lors de la reservation. Au retour, la jeune femme qui nous a accueilli et a ouvert le bureau était dans un état d’énervement palpable, elle s’est montrée extrêmement désagréable. À fuir absolument, sinon l’Irlande c’est merveilleux, les Irlandais sont sympa sauf chez Budget.

I would not rent from budget.

We received a rental car that had a crack in the windshield that could not be noticed from the outside and could only be noticed once the windshield wipers started, which they did about 30 minutes into our trip. At the counter they had told us to simply take pictures of any damage and it would be easy to rectify this. We called budget and they instructed us to return the car to Cork Airport where they could get us another. At cork, they commented that dublin had dumped their problems on them and were not joking and treated us as such. They kept insisting on showing us the initial damage report despite us telling them that we already knew that budget had missed the initial damage on the car. They charged us 660 euros to pay for a new windshield that we had not damaged. I appealed this twice and got no favorable response. Budget took the line that because they didn't notice it and we didn't notice it in the lot that we were responsible for it when it was clearly much more likely that good customers like us would not have noticed it until 30 minutes into our drive and that we did not cause it. I would not rent from budget.

Rip off

It’s was an absolute disaster, I was quoted €59. I knew it was going to be more when I got fully insured but not (€444)then had to get a car seat for €45 which was flirty.

Good service

When we returned the car we were told to take it back to the airport (which was nice as we collected the car in town) When we returned the car they failed to mention that we needed to go to a special area rather than car drop offs so I had to wait for my fuel refund but someone would be in touch. No one was in touch but my refund was processed quickly

Wouldn't recommend renting a car from Budget. You might be attracted with lower prices but service is quite bad. Especially would recommend to anyone who is looking into renting frequently with one company. The lack of any loyalty programms and you certainly won't get any discounts with them. Also biggest problem with them is you have really nice people working for them at the counter who know who are their loyal clients and they treat you as one, would allow you to come just bit later that it says on the contract and then 2 months later you get an invoice from head office charging you for full day. This miscommunication is unexceptable as well as taking money of my account before invoice ever came to my home address. All together sad.

Booked a car online in Australia though…

Booked a car online in Australia though wisecars they are scammers.They advertise cars in Ireland for $10 per day plus you take out insurance. I thought was really good so I booked and paid for it, all I had to do when I got to Ireland was pay €70 they sent me a voucher to confirm my payment. When I arrived I got the shuttle bus which I had to wait for about 30 mins for to budget office. Then when I arrived there had to wait about an hour to be seen as was very busy. To be then told even though I had my voucher that showed that I had paid already and only needed to pay € 70 that I had to pay the full price of about €500 and also had to have credit card with €1500 on it in case of damage. Which I didnt have so came out with no car. I started my holiday in tears thanks to Wisecars plus about 3 hours later than should have been and I didnt even get the money back that I had already paid cause budget cars said they hadnt received it yet.😡😡😡

Excellent from start to finish!

Excellent from start to finish. I used BudgetCar at Belfast International for a week of rental. Everything went very smoothly; inexpensive, within walking distance, no hassle collection or drop off and the staff were friendly and helpful. People are all too often frustrated with hire companies because they haven't bothered to bring the required documents/credit cards.

Everything was really straight forward…

Everything was really straight forward & all went to plan. Customer service on the desk was excellent & clear & on point...... Car was great, comfy, spotless & a lovely drive. Handing the vehicle back was also really straight forward & customer service was great again. Thanks Budget!

A bit disappointed

Booked a hire car online though wise cars which put us into budget. I booked the added driver and the reduced excess insurance. A payment came off my card and the confirmation said I had £65 left to pay on collection. It turned out at the desk I had £126 still to pay despite me arguing what what shown on the paperwork. Was a citron c3 we got which was dirty and dusty on the inside and only had 3 quarters a tank of fuel not full as paperwork stated. Once we got out the airport we found the car misfires, looses power and pulls to the left. Returned the car today, full of fuel and told the man that checked it inside and out that it pulls to one side and misfires and all he could say was oh it must need tracking done. Haven't had my £100 back from the fuel yet I expect it'll take a day or so bit of a rip off considering we filled it for £45!! Easy enough to deal with at desk etc but online looks like a great deal until you actually get to the desk. Will look elsewhere next time

Scam artists

Booked everything online. Decided to get separate insurance for the year instead if a one off cost which was only a bit more. Got to the airport and as i didn't have a credit card with me they made me take the daily insurance to reduce the excess fron £1000 to zero. It wasnt clear the consequences of not taking the insurance with then beforehand. It is an absolute scam. Paid a fortune on insurance. They wouldnt take it from my debit card either. Do not use if if you do read through all the terms and conditions.
