My review of this company is minus 5 stars , their a disgrace in customer service.. and just disgusting how they treat customers, 4 weeks and still waiting for a refund
Since May 22 we have joined Alinta Energy and provided the Concession Rebate to apply for the account but the customer service staff kept saying that this has been done and will show on next bill but the rebata has been applied. At the meantime we have to put the full bill. Trying to login the account to find out, there is none showing up on the account. They won't give any assurance for that and we can't contact billing department to find out whether this has been done. If you have a Concession card, don't join in and give you a bad experience.
I don’t like leaving negative reviews about companies, especially at the moment as I know everyone is under a lot of extra pressure due to the current financial situation. However, my experience with Alinta energy has been nothing short of horrendous. Joined 12 months ago, received my first bill late and was incorrect. Finally got this sorted. Then did not receive another bill, at all, for the following 8 months. Called multiple times, couldn’t get through, sent emails/ written enquiries and kept getting generic replies of your bill is delayed. Only after I involved the state ombudsman did I finally receive a total amount owing on the website but unable to see the actual breakdown of the bill. I then receive a welcome to Alinta energy and here are your new energy rates. Every piece of communication has been a generic template. I now owe almost 3 bills worth of energetic at once. There has been no explanation for the complete lack of service, no apology, no communication what so ever. With such an appalling experience the only positive I can say is that it shouldn’t be hard for them to improve as anything would be better than the service they currently provide.
This year they have a genius in their employ who has figured out that if they keep demanding that customers "confirm" their details without ever stating what the details they hold actually are, the customers will never be able to prove their identities and their queries will forever go unanswered. I refer to a circular email I've received on three consecutive days. It says, " Thank you for contacting us regarding your account. We consider the security of your private details to be of primary importance, so in order for us to deal with your issue, we need you to provide us with your private details. I wonder what they did with those details when I handed them over last time or the time before that or the time before that? The first time I received the email, I did exactly as they requested and wrote down all the details and sent them to Alinta. The following day I contacted them by phone and discussed the situation with an operator who agreed to assist me in sorting out my problem. I again provided all of the pertinent information and was assured that the problem would be now fixed. During my discussions with that person, I explained about the circular email and she assured me I would not have to provide those details again. I now have a third email which again refuses to discuss my case unless I provide personal details which I have already provided on two consecutive days. I'm getting a little bored with this game and can't wait to tell whomever I eventually get to talk to that I no longer require the services of Alinta Energy. I've had enough of running around in circles. They have lied to me about my pensioner discount and about their reasons for being unable to continue it.
Hate providing bad reviews but Alinta really deserves it. After each bill I have called or emailed them to tell them that they have added my solar feed it to the amount I have consumed, thus charging me the full amount for the electricity which I am selling to them rather than crediting me for it. Each time they have promised to resolve it quickly but so far despite 4 calls/emails after each bill the problem continues. The call centre operative explained that all complaints are referred to the billing dept and processed in order. If the complaint/issue is not dealt with by an arbitrary cut off date it is simply deleted, which given high backlog of complaints results in many issues not being addressed. Of course the customer doesn't get notified and is left to complain again, repeatedly. Sounds like a great business model, the customer service dept meets its kpi's, the billing dept doesn't have a backlog, irritated customers leave and the company retains the money it has overcharged.
My partner died last year and I had to have the Alinta account transferred into my name. Called and the person who set up my account spelt my email address incorrectly (@htotmail.com) so I wasn't getting my bills. In the meantime, I had been BPaying $50 a fortnight into the wrong account because they didn't close my partner's old account and because I wasn't receiving my bills I had no idea anything was wrong. When I spoke to them, I was told I would receive a refund and even got an email confirming this. They then went back on this when I sent an email back with my bank account details and told me their "policy had changed" so a refund was no longer possible. I have since followed up twice and have not received a response. It's an absolute joke, and the last thing I need on top of everything else going on in my life.
terrible service aviod this company. I will be leaving as soon as possible. besides having two rate rises and my plan being changed, had to wait over three months for my April monthly bill. Even to get the bill i had to ring 4 times and email 4 times only to be lied to on two occsions to be told that bill would be generated in 5 business days. The My account is a joke, no current usage available.
I have been chasing a refund from a closed Alinta Elelctricity account since mid June. After numerous promises that they would provide my refund I have still not received it 7 weeks later. They clearly don't do what they say when you are no longer a customer.
