Wine Spies

I’ve been with Wine spies Since the beginning, I love to get wines that I can’t buy in Kansas or Missouri. The last shipment from the anniversary special had some terrific bottles of red wine. I need another case of wine just like the last one. The two things I use the most are the lockers and Reading how many months the bottles were aged in the winery description. I want my red wine to taste like splinters.

Love/Hate relationship with Wine Spies. I HATE that I am spending all my money on wine because I have no will power to not purchase something every week! I highly recommend this site. If you are a casual wine drinker or a collector this site is great. Some deals are amazing and those are the ones I see typically sell out faster and are going to have a higher price point. Be sure to do some research however as some "deals" are not must buys as you can find it priced the same on a regular basis. I do wish there were more promo codes especially for frequent purchasers. The locker storage option is great. They also offer a $20 Vault surprise bottle. It's more of a fun thing to do then any real value as I've yet to really get a bottle that was more than $15-$25 retail. They claim to send out more expensive bottles but I've yet to get one in the 10+ times I've purchased. It is a fun way to buy a wine you may not have otherwise purchased. I would give 5 Stars, but I still do not understand the shipping and tracking process. The website could be improved to provide better tracking and more updates. Typically it takes 10-14 days in my experience to receive a delivery after you ship a completed vault. Give them a shot!

There are several things I really like about Wine Spies .... the locker concept is genius. I hate, absolutely hate paying for shipping - and the locker is the perfect solution. I love the in-depth reviews - often reading about the winery or the winemaker or the family is what makes me want to try their wines. I also like to buy 1 or maybe 2 bottles, so I can try many different wines - again, the locker let's me do that yet avoid shopping. Highly recommend!!

Disappointed. They don't ship your lockers as promised. They say 2 business days on their site and here we are 5 business days later and still not shipped. Customer service only says they "expect" to ship it in 24 to 48 MORE hours.

Great informative reviews of the wines they represent. I recommend watching it for a while before you just jump after every deal. Once you have a good feel for spotting a truly great deal--epic finds--i do then recommend jumping. I lost on a few really good finds that I assumed I had a little time to consider.

Wine Spies is a great site. Wines of all quality levels and price points. We know what we like and have found very good values.

I love the Locker concept. I grab one or two or three or four bottles of wine depending... When there's 12 in there - free shipping! I've really only not loved one purchase. I see no reason to buy wine any other way - unless you find one you love and can buy cases for the same cost.

I've been a Wine Spies subscriber for at least five years, and overall it has been a very positive experience--a relatively economical and enjoyable way of finding new [red] wines. I can highly recommend the experience to anyone interested in exploring new vineyards and vintages--the Wine Spies are generally excellent, but not flawless, curators. I want to provide some additional feedback for them--I assume that they read their reviews. They recently introduced a "feature", which is purchase individual bottles from their "vault", without going into too much detail, it's a system that allows a subscriber to purchase a "pot luck" wine from the Wine Spies library---sounds like an interesting idea, right?, but they need to work on their algorithm--I have never purchased anything but red wines from Wine Spies [I only pay attention to Agent Red], and for the first wine that I purchased from their "vault", they sent me a Rosé[!]---someone is not paying attention.

Have been with Wine Spies for 8 months. Pros : +build a case over time +free shipping on date that you select +daily descriptives that never fail to amuse ! Cons : Too many Cabs from obscure vintners

I have ordered several cases over the past few years. The fact that the wines will be stored in a locker and then shipped when full or at my desire is hugely helpful. Especially to avoid shipping during very hot summer months. Great customer service as well for the few things I have had to inquire about.

Excellent selection and pricing on every offer each day. Adding a few bottles to my LOCKER and then allowing me to wait to ship based on my needs is a great program. The site is easy to navigate and all the detail they provide on each wine makes it easy to make good decisions. I recommend this site to all me wine friends.

I love shopping and buying from The Wine Spies. Not only is the wine that they offer top quality, but it’s a great price and just darn fun! Plus, I’ve had wine accidentally broken by UPS/Fed Ex in transit and the customer service at Wine Spies is top notch! They always take care of me and treat me great!

Everything really well priced, great diversity of wines, and some real gems. Love the feature where you can buy a few bottles here, more there, and let them add up until you have a full case and it ships free.

Trying a new wine club always feels like a risk. I ordered my first case from Wine Spies and I am quite pleased with my first five bottles (both quality and value). If the rest of this case and the next one maintain the same quality level, I’ll likely switch my wine buying over completely.

Overall very happy with Wine Spies, although they make it too easy to click and buy! The only complaint I have is that the wine boxes always seem to be flimsy on the bottom, and have to hold it because it feels like it may break through.

Truly horrific wine and worthless customer support. Purchased 3 bottles of 2009 vintage Mica Wine. Opened one bottle, and it was undrinkable. Wrote to customer support seeking my account be credited. Apparently WS credited my account for one bottle of the 3 I purchased and said to open another bottle. Did that, bottle 2 equally bad as bottle 1. Again tried to seek credit but this time haven’t received any response from WS and sent two follow up emails. Zip, no response from WS. Lesson learned, moving on. WS sells bad, undrinkable wine and my experience was extremely poor and cannot recommend.

My favorite thing about Wine Spies is that you can buy a bottle or two and they will keep them until you have purchased a case of wine and then ship for free.

Good wine, good variety, good info, and good price! Have had nothing but a great experience shopping with Winespies for the past 2 years. Locker system with shipping included is what makes this site work well for my needs.

Wine Spies has been a great source of emerging and small batch wines to augment my cellar. The selections track with my tastes and included preferences.
