Wine Spies

I have been using WineSpies a few years now. My experience with WineSpies has been fantastic. I try to visit Napa/Sonoma once a year to visit various wineries, taste and buy. WineSpies has featured some great wines from places I know as well as introducing me to some fantastic wines from AVAs I know but wineries that I did not know. A great feature that they offer is the “Locker” which allows you to buy wine and store with them until you have a full case. Then shipping is free. You control when to ship. If a wine is new to me and the region is good, the writeup is good and the pricing is a real discount I will buy a few bottles, try them and if I like it, go back and put more in the locker. I once received a shipment of some Cabernet where a few bottles had stained labels (probably near a broken bottle in storage). They were still perfectly fine to drink. I reported it to customer service they asked for specifics and pictures. They quickly replaced the bottles and told me to keep the stained sticky ones. That is a CONSUMER CENTRIC organization. I cannot say enough good things about my experiences.

I just have a question and I can’t find any way to ask besides this forum! Why do you only have Chardonnay as white wine? There are others you know!!

UPDATED: I did indeed hear from Wine Spies. Good news is the wine hasn't shipped so it's not cooking in a Fedex warehouse. They seem to be on top of it so I'm revising my rating based on their quick and honest response which was very much appreciated. I would be very careful. I requested they ship my locker 3 weeks ago and there is no tracking or info available that it has shipped on their web site. I have corresponded a few times with 'Agent Blanc' but those responses stopped abruptly. He informed me the wine shipped June 12 with ice packs. It is now June 22 and those ice packs are long gone! Tried calling the phone number and got an answering machine.

I love Wine Spies! Great hidden gems, great prices and the locker feature with free shipping is wonderful. It gives me more time to drink some awesome wine and clear space in my cellar before the next shipment shows up!

Overall experience is positive. Presentation of wine information very helpful to make quick decisions. Only request is to offer more wines that don't peg out as dry. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would like to see some 8s and 9s.

It’s too convenient to receive texts and see a wine from Crown’s Gap. Bottom line is Wine Spies does a great job sourcing wines from around the world! Purchasing and the website are super easy and having the locker setup provides the opportunity to pick favorite and interesting wines over time.

This was my first experience with The Wine Spies. It has been great to look at their offerings, and slowly build up an order. The “locker” function is great, allowing you to purchase the wines as you go along, until you compile a case for free shipping. I’m looking forward to the arrival of the first case to see the quality of the wines!

Always an interesting choice of the day (& sometimes 2 or 3). Lockers is a game changer for on-line wine purchases. Have seen other on-line wine purveyors copycat the idea. Would love to see you add a Decant time suggestion. It would help those of us still learning this nuances of wine prep & tasting.

Some great wines I'd likely not find or try otherwise. Checkout is simple and shipment is swift. Can't beat some of the deals.

I have purchased wine from Wine Spies for many years. They always have interesting and unique wines and include the "story" behind the vintage, vineyard, and winemaker. The Lockers are a wonderful idea to assemble a shipment especially if you live in a warm weather state. Keep up the good work Agents!

Have been buying wine from wine spies for several years, more than years. Have received excellent wines from them, none of the "two-buck Chuck" wines. Even their "mystery cartons contained excellent wines. They are masters AT GETTING PREMIUM WINES AT GREAT PRICES FOR IT MEMBERS

Great experience. Ordering is easy and there is always a great selection of fabulous wines that you can't find in your local wine shop at great prices. The locker system makes it easy to buy a few bottles here and there and then have it delivered at a better price later. Love Wine Spies!

Wine Spies offers some very good small production wines at a great value. If by chance there is a corked bottle they handle it very well. It is a pleasure to do business with them.

Excellent experience. Love the feature of lockers. The website is easy to navigate, wine is easy to buy. It is all very efficient. I have learned a lot about wine with wine spies and we have bought a lot of great wine from them. I rarely recommend anything but have told all of my friends about winespies.

The locker option is fantastic. Wines options are very good as well. The shipping of the locker got stuck in a back-end system. Hope that gets corrected on future shipments.
