I called to suspend the hosting because I need 8 to to 10 months to redevelop my family website. The agent was very understanding and cooperative.

For several years, WHC has been at the top of my list when it comes to technical support. As a reseller, I’ve been extremely happy with the product and services provided, and the consistently excellent support was a major reason I stayed. Unfortunately, over the past several months, I’ve noticed a significant shift in their support protocol. The direct person-to-person chat I once relied on has been replaced by an AI chatbot that eventually hands off to a live agent. On several occasions, that handoff led to being escalated to multiple levels of support, only to end up with a ticket answered the next day—a far cry from the real-time support I was accustomed to. For years, the longest I ever waited to speak with a live agent was ten minutes or less. Recently, wait times have climbed to 68 minutes and even 162 minutes. Whether this is due to agent availability, a surge in demand, or a system issue, the result is a frustrating delay for time-sensitive matters. Phone support, once available for urgent issues, also seems to have been quietly scaled back. I’m currently working through several support tickets to resolve an issue that, in the past, would have been handled by a live agent in a matter of minutes. I’m not sure whether this comes down to the level of staff expertise or the new support structure itself, but something is clearly off. To be fair, AI chatbots can work well for basic inquiries, and I can see the potential for that approach. But for more complex issues—especially for resellers who depend on timely support—the current process is falling short. I’ve noticed more and more people in the industry sharing similar experiences over the last several months, which suggests this isn’t an isolated issue. I’m hopeful WHC revisits what made their support excellent to begin with. The product remains strong, and I’d like to see the support match that same standard again.

Ce n'est pas tant la qualité ou la vitesse de la connexion mais plutôt le manque de formation du personnel ou alors, les dirigeants qui poussent les employés à une extrême rentabilité. J'ai déjà eu des interruptions de services de courriels pro (et sans que je soit averti en plus, c'est un client qui m'a appelé pour dire que je n'avais pas répondu à son courriel) ce qui est très fâcheux. Le support IT est réactif et passable mais il y a toujours de quoi qui fait que je ne peux pas accéder à un service ou un autre.

I still dont see my site on the web
I wanted to go "elbows up" and support a Canadian web host. Web Hosting Canada was not the right choice. Customer service is terrible - I filed a ticket more than 48 hours ago, ZERO response. I also went through all of the unhelpful instructions for this 90's designed platform. There are so many better options than Web Hosting Canada

I have been a loyal client of WHC for 6 years. I had nothing to say; support was mostly great, but my recent experience has been stressful. Since November, I’ve faced intermittent server issues. I've improve my setup, changed my WP theme and my organic traffic has dropped by nearly 50%, while I was asked to upgrade my plan twice — first to a higher shared hosting tier, then to a VPS. Since performance and reliability are crucial for me, I did what I was advised even if my websites were not reaching resource limits and I know I shouldn't need a VPS for 35,000 monthly sessions and less than 3 GB of disk space. When I finally agreed to the VPS upgrade, I had to fight for more than a measly 5% discount despite the ongoing issues. The migration process itself has been a disaster. Despite specifying that the migration must be completed outside of my peak weekend traffic, I am left anxiously waiting with an incomplete setup right before my busiest period. My Core Web Vitals performance score plummeted from 75% to 33% during this process. As a professional food blogger and Mediavine publisher, my site is my livelihood. Despite paying for Proactive Management, the new server is showing a critical load up to 36. I am now paying 10 times more for my hosting, only to receive a performance that is 10 times lower. I am extremely disappointed. WHC used to be reliable, but they have failed to support a long-term professional client when it mattered most. ETA : I've been refunded for the VPS and stay under a shared server unless errors continue to strike. I'll also add that with a VPS, if you have a problem, you can only get help through support tickets. Not really helping when no one answer for an entire day.
I have been a customer for quite a few years. But in the last 2 years their customer support has gone down hill. We are left waiting 12-24 hours for a first response to tickets, so we are left with no support and wondering if someone is even looking into the issue. When we try to chat with them to get an update on the ticket they are dismissive and say they will respond when they can. Chat support seems to be only able to handle name/ticket creation and can't actually help with any hosting issues. In most cases we have had to hire outside help because WHC support takes too long to respond or don't know how to fix the issue. Their technical expertise seems limiting. I would not trust them with your hosting services. Hopefully they will learn that a simple response is better then zero communication.
I have had problems with my email system for some time with many phone calls and tickets. Today, Nada solved it all very well. Thank you, Nada!!! Excellent service. Cheers RICH.
WHC are the GOAT. im a tech noob and their support services and chat are gold class. i've been with them for many years and also recently set up a new domain with them. again, super amazing support and service
