Travis Perkins, well what can you say? Diabolical doesn’t really cover it. No notification or confirmation of order. No phone calls, you have to chase them. Then on the day of delivery, they can give no time, morning or afternoon even. I ordered from them two bags of gravel. I live on a main road near Ferndown. There is a cable 10 meters up that crosses my drive, just like any other house on the Street. We’ve had skips delivered and dropped in the drive, we’ve had bulk bags delivered by other companies. Even by TP themselves before. We asked when ordering, for the bags to be left just inside the gate. But apparently they don’t deliver to properties with over head power cables. Plus apparently it is up to their drivers, who can just decide not to do so, because of a cable 10 meters or 33 feet up. But apparently, they can put the bags in the street on the pavement 3 feet away. Which would necessitate the equipment to be in exactly the same air space as if it put it in the driveway. Go figure. Avoid like the plague, there is no customer service, no rhyme or reason to the company or its staff. It’s literally pot luck if you get a delivery.

Had a great experience hiring equipment from the Woolwich branch. We had to remove the bitumen from our floors in preparation for an underfloor heating installation and because flooring companies quoted us £1k for the job, we decided to do it ourselves. Travis Perkins had the best price for hiring a floor scabbler, so we reached out to them and the hire manager from the Woolwich branch (Luke Desborough) organised the whole thing for us at a very short notice and we had the scabbler delivered to our door within a few hours by a very friendly delivery driver. We also needed a few additional building materials and even though this wasn't his department, Luke kindly added them to the hire delivery so that we wouldn't have to pay an additional delivery fee. All in all, we were very impressed by the service we received and we'll definitely reach out again when we need to hire any tools.

Decided (or should i say the wife decided)to refurb the bathroom. We needed one box Quick Step Vinyl flooring Silk Oak dark grey to match what we already had. From internet search most places wanted £80 box plus £35 delivery and then to my surprise i saw Travis a benchmark deal £56. In the description i could not find a code number AVSPU40060 to match the flooring i had and i know Quick step do a glue down version and a plank without insulation so i wasn't sure but in the description the plank was the same size and thickness without insulation it is a different thickness. So i put the item in my trolley and another huge surprise FREE delivery. Unbelievable. So placed order on Friday received a text on Sunday from DX couriers will be delivered Monday. Still a bit hesitant, is it the right item. Arrived Monday by DX couriers, Martin the delivery driver. Exactly the right flooring. VERY HAPPY. Thank you Travis i will be looking on your website more often.

Doing some DIY and used the Luton branch. Delivery driver was great, brought the materials in and was very friendly Would say it’s small issue getting the delivery slot times on the day, so plan ahead to make sure your materials are there when needed.
