I must admit that I was a little sceptical when I first booked my holiday. The process was simple though and my deposit was paid to secure my booking. I made the booking pretty much wholly on the strength of the Trustpilot 4.9 rating with over 12k reviews!! Over the course of several months, whilst I was making regular payments toward the balance of my holiday I had to contact Travel Centre to confirm my payment had been made as I did not receive a confirmation from them. I was also a little worried that until full payment had been made, no vouchers/flight details were issued. However my concerns were unjustified as now I have returned from my holiday, everything was superbly organised and I had no problems with any bookings, flights/reservations etc.
Although all the hotels used in the 6 locations I visited were of a good 4 star standard, it is my personal opinion that a couple of the hotels used in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok should be changed for hotels in more appropriate areas of the city. The Phuket hotel is also a little bit out of the way but transport is easy to get and cheap and the hotel was actually excellent in itself. The Sunway Putra hotel in Kuala Lumpur sits atop of the Sunway shopping mall. This mall has dozens of places to eat but for Western visitors, unfortunately every one of them serve Halal food and do not serve any alcohol. There are also no restaurants within reasonable walking distance that cater for Western visitors either. The hotel Atrium Lounge is more of a coffee bar with seating area, but does serve a limited menu and alcohol but is not really a restaurant or bar per say. The hotel in general though is of an excellent standard. The hotel used in Bangkok is also not in a tourist friendly area and transport is required to reach bars/restaurants etc. The chosen decor of the hotel room I was given was also strange and I could not decide whether it was fully completed or not! It appeared the walls had recently been plastered and the painting had been forgotten. There were also hanging cables from the roof lighting and the style was similar to steampunk.
Overall though for the £1699/person paid, the holiday was of a good value, the flights were all faultless and I would recommend as a very good package indeed. I would definitely consider using Travel Center again!
