Chat line understood at once what my problem was with logging in to mobile app. transferring Isa etc. Were able to explain how to successfully correct problems. Nationwide however misunderstood, provided incorrect ungrammatical responses , generally irritating and ultimately ate up my time

Oh what a Dark Ages company, no sense of experience of working with customers. Awful blither on the telephone number they -reluctantly make you search for. Goes on and on, all about their services but not their lack of service. Given last days to change instructions on maturing ISAs and their dreadful blither takes up any last minute time. You're in a queue, so sorry, can call you back, but we don't and we close. Go away sad cowboy outfit and wonder how such a business can survive in this century. Probably won't.
As a first time user...I was having problems signing in to my account and used the chat to help me. Quick response from the adviser( Adam) and helped me straight away and even offered to call me if needed. Quick, polite and easy.
The on-line chat was extremely helpful. You appeared to be talking to an actual person who answered questions relating to you individually rather than AI answering frequently asked questions not relevant to your query

Very helpful customer service when I got into a muddle joining them online at the start of the year. Now settled and plodding along; happy with them looking after my pot. Have moved to new accounts since and that online experience was also seamless.
Absolutely terrible. Internal mortgage scorecards showing they cannot lend you because you have too much or too little credit history. No clear definition on the metrics of their scorecards and no clear answers from anyone. Just a terrible lender. I would avoid for as long as I live.
Recently I had a query regarding a maturing account and phoned for information. I had very little waiting time and immediately spoke to an advisor. The advisor was polite and friendly and provided all the information required. This has been my experience in the past, too. Skipton not only provides competitive rates but has excellent customer focus and can deal with many different situations.
I chose my Skipton ISA because it's ACCESSIBLE as well as tax efficient. Interest rate is affected by changes in BOEBR, however access, not interest, is my priority for this account. ISA is also FLEXIBLE, a feature which can be hard to find. Skipton online system is easy to use. Instead of inputting a six digit texted number, Skipton asks agreed, delightfully personal questions that only the individual customer can answer. Secure messages are promptly and helpfully answered. There even a Skipton branch in my town. A highly recommended organisation and product.

Fast response and solved my problem
I have been a customer of Skipton Building Society for many many years now. Unfortunately in the last two years this building society has gone straight down hill. The amount of times I have phoned regarding a query and I am constantly given different information from the time before, the right hand does not have a clue what the left hand is doing. Skipton Building Society did admit to me when I raised a complaint that they do have a high turnover of staff. At one point I told a member of staff that once all my accounts had matured I would be taking my money else where just to be told by the staff member that this would be added to my account. Just shows you they are certainly not interested any more in looking after there long term customers. Bye bye Skipton Building Society I will not be doing anymore savings with you ever again.
Agreed to a call from one of their 'financial planners' (or whatever they call them) Anyway, they clearly didn't remember and I had forgotten too when they did call. I was busy so we arranged another date for the next day - that was 5 days ago and no call once again. Hey Skipton, don't offer services you clearly have no intention of supporting!
The Staff members in the Woking Branch of the Skipton Building Society are always welcoming, helpful and caring, even if I am only going in to make a small transaction (deposit or withdrawal). It gives me confidence that my needs are always attended to.
