The price was reasonable and the application process straightforward. I cannot comment on the claims handling as, thankfully, I did not need to use it.

Sainsbury pet insurance have been great in handling claims but now they are unsympathetic and cold in their response to my complaint. I moved to Sainsbury over a year ago with an OK premium of nearly £700 pa for my 8-year-old Labrador with no claim’s history. I have been saying great things about you in terms of handling claims and even recommended you to several people. This will NO longer be the case, and I retract anything good said about Sainsbury Pet Insurance. We have had to make some claims this year but that's the insurance business. I've just had my renewal notice through and over a 100% increase to just over £1500 pa. The disgusting thing is you know that we now have a pre-existing condition, so you have us by the short and curlies. Our other dog is with kennel club and despite any claims, they increase by 12% pa. I have discussed this with my vet who are shocked with what you are trying to do. In addition to this premium, I must pay 20% of each claim!! As suggested, I called your customer service and all I was told is to reduce the premium I need to reduce the cover. Yeah, what responsible dog owner would do this.

Sainsbury bank pet insurance. WARNING They will take your money but when your pet requires treatment at your vet they will find an excuse and refuse to pay
I think this insurance was exactly what I wanted no problem at all and would use next year hopefully
Simple process
I am delighted to say that I didn't require the insurance cover provided by Sainsbury's, which is the way it should be. But just having that peace of mind in case anything does go wrong is worth the cost of cover. And the level of communication was also reassuring. They were competitively priced and I would recommend them to anyone.
A good experience with sainsbury's
Car insurance? Be warned. They direct you to UK insurance who say they haven’t worked with Sainsbury's for 18 months! My car insurance runs out in four days time. Sainsbury is so expensive—40% higher than the quote from Go Compare. So I decided to move, obviously. Imagine my shock to get an email this morning saying my policy had been auto renewed 4 days early! I called the number on the email I got this morning 0345 266 1360. Auto voice says welcome to Sainsburys and the press 1. For etc…. I follow all those links and get told, after giving my details, that this is UK insurance and we have had nothing to do with Sainsbury’s for 18 months. They then give me the Sainsburys number … Half an hour of gaslighting… no we have not renewed… but you just sent me and email saying that you have… oh let me put you on hold….. well we did renew yes but I will cancel that.. and then well that is the correct number but you must have picked the wrong option… I don’t think I did… but even if I did pick the option this leads to my data being given to an organisation that I have nothing to do with them will be a breach of the data protection. But also this is the underwriter for my policy according to the phone number I got with the policy….. So having wasted an hour going around in circles with one operator on the first number saying we are aware Sainsburys are giving out this number but we have nothing to do with them and call them on… and the other operator insisting it is Sainsburys number and I made a mistake and that they did not auto renew 4 days early but then that they did and the price being double what I can get elsewhere, I’m done wohh th Sainsburys— imagine if I had a car accident and had found up that number for claims done all of that and then been told not insured by the underwriters that Sainsbury’s direct me to! Dodgy data practice and dodgy sales practice. Very disappointed and totally unsure if I am actually with an underwriter right now … And just had 3 missed calls from UK insurance who are trying to get hold of me… It’s an hour of my life, but I will never get back and I think it’s time for the insurance on and the ICO to have a look at this
