Over a 100 % increase in premium, you having a laugh!!
Sainsbury pet insurance have been great in handling claims but now they are unsympathetic and cold in their response to my complaint. I moved to Sainsbury over a year ago with an OK premium of nearly £700 pa for my 8-year-old Labrador with no claim’s history. I have been saying great things about you in terms of handling claims and even recommended you to several people. This will NO longer be the case, and I retract anything good said about Sainsbury Pet Insurance. We have had to make some claims this year but that's the insurance business. I've just had my renewal notice through and over a 100% increase to just over £1500 pa. The disgusting thing is you know that we now have a pre-existing condition, so you have us by the short and curlies. Our other dog is with kennel club and despite any claims, they increase by 12% pa. I have discussed this with my vet who are shocked with what you are trying to do. In addition to this premium, I must pay 20% of each claim!! As suggested, I called your customer service and all I was told is to reduce the premium I need to reduce the cover. Yeah, what responsible dog owner would do this.
