Hosts beware

Hosts beware. Do not list with this rental platform. The communication, follow through, and payment processes are horrible! It has been 2 weeks since we hosted a two-day rental and no one has responded to a single email that we have sent and we have had to involve the Better Business Bureau of the polarimo County California local licensing board. Do yourself a favor and read the Better Business Bureau and all reviews that aren't published by Red awning as they are biased. Unless you feel like being constantly managing right awning more than you would have managed your own platform or property. They are simply a high price listing service that expects to get cleaners through turno and maintenance through Thumbtack and will say they are a full service platform but they are no service platform. Please do your homework and believe the things you read

Lack of professionalism and knowledge

I had a very disappointing experience with RedAwning, specifically with a representative named Scott. He was not only unhelpful, but he also demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge. Instead of trying to help or offer solutions, he was dismissive throughout the call and ultimately hung up on me before I had even finished speaking. This behavior is completely unacceptable. It has caused me to lose all trust in RedAwning.

“This townhome was absolutely perfect…

“This townhome was absolutely perfect for UofI graduation in May! The location was 2 blocks from commencement making it ideal for every type of event associated with the university. The accommodations included every detail possible - tastefully decorated.”

The rental did NOT match the pictures…

The rental did NOT match the pictures in the ad Literally a night and day difference. Unfortunately, there is no way to confirm this until you’ve actually arrived at the vacation rental, but it’s too late you’ve paid the rental fee and all of the FEES like a 14% management fee and a $500+ cleaning fee, which may have been worth it IF the description and pictures matched!!! Bottomline: Felt like I bought a vehicle online from a shady used car dealer, but when I picked it up it was entirely different! Fortunately the government has cracked down on Timeshares and other unreliable companies. This has just confirmed that …. Vacation Rentals will be next!

Two stove burners weren’t working

Two stove burners weren’t working. They will be repaired the day we leave. The laundry washing machine takes too long to complete the load - too much suds. Excessive amount of exterior security panels. House was clean. Beds were comfortable. Location is convenient.

Having so many agencies attached to reservations is very confusing

Originally I booked with booking.com and Red Awning was attached . Booking.com charged my card when they shouldn’t have then argued with me and said the only thing they could do was cancel my reservation. I cancelled , then let red awning know the experience I had and they wanted proof that I wasn’t supposed to be charged so I sent a screen shot to the email they provided and they stated there was nothing they could do. I ended up booking through VRBO, and Red Awning was attached yet again . To make a long story short Red Awning emailed me stating I had two reservations for the same location under my name. Then I had to call and cancel one and I told them it’s now not showing up on vrbo that I have anything since I cancelled the one reservation -so I’m hoping I actually have my reservation when I go because I was assured I would be

Everything was great

Everything was great. House was pretty clean except the outside garbage can where you dump your trash. They were full already, but other than that everything was good

Unethical

We went through Red Awning for a ski rental in Crested Butte. Everything went fine until after the trip we were hit with $250 of unexpected fees. $90 was for parking and the rest was for resort fees and taxes that are typically included on every VRBO I have ever used. The customer service personnel were very polite but are from another country so I’m not sure they completely understand the issue. I would not rent another property through this company. They will take advantage of you. You were warned.

Not a good experience

Was unable to book using my American Express card. Ending up having to book using an other card. The chat support was no help at all. Just advised to try again later. Called to try to get help, just got voicemail and no one ever responded. Price quoted was about $500 less after fees and taxes.

Not happy

We booked a room with 3 queen beds. (2 q and 1 Murphy q). Stayed here last year. Had that exact room last spring -reason for booking this. Arrived to a king and a Murphy bed. Now waiting on a roll away for tonight. Staff offered an additional room - free for tomorrow & following. Then we will be split. In different wings. I do appreciate the desk for trying to resolve but I should be able to get what i booked.
