Online Experience Has Been Very Good

To be clear, this review is only of the web store (I have never been in a Ralph's physical store); and the only products I typically buy are nutritional supplements. That said, on this most-recent order, Ralph's had everything I needed, at fair prices, when the other companies I use were out of stock. The shipping cost was reasonable ($4.95) and the order arrived four days after I placed it. Again, I can't comment on the in-store experience because I've never set foot in a Ralph's store. But they seem to have their online operation squared away.

What a sad state of affairs

So, they have taken out almost all good organic food and replaced it with "simple truth",which is average at best. What non private label they do have is inconsistent in quality. Half the produce on the site is unavailable except by delivery and half the other items must be shipped.Ralph's went from being a great California store before Kroger to a third rate market which just keeps getting sadder every year. Old produce, empty shelves, refusal to carry brands other than their own. Today and yesterday the Valencia store was out of stock on Roma tomatoes, portobellos, cara oranges, exotic mushrooms, broccolini and more. . I am going to have to buy everything but cleaning products, butter and soy milk at my organic supermarket- expensive but they always have good and fresh produce and a great organic selection and I don't end up with half an order and still needing things.

Ralph's Brookhurst in Anaheim..

Ralph's Brookhurst in Anaheim... I have to compliment management on one young mans honesty and ethics! Xavier, I went to pick up my groceries and I have always tipped, he actually said, "I am so sorry, I can't accept a tip" I can't tell you how many have accepted tips, I felt so bad he wouldn't!! but what I admired was his honesty!! Management; you have your self a great employee there! honesty and integrity is hard to find in employees! I know, I too am in management, and a young man like Xavier, I would love to have him on our team in hospitality! I do hope you have incentives for these young ones!! he deserves it!

Inexcusably bad service and ridiculous price hikes

I've been shopping at the Ralph's in Sherman Oaks (Burbank Blvd.) for some 40+ years (ever since it was a Hughes Market). Tonight, they wouldn't take my check. They claimed I was no longer in their system, and despite the fact that I have my checks printed with my driver's license number, which I backed up with a real California ID, they refused to process my order. Adding to that the disgraceful surcharge they instituted a few years ago for cash back on purchases and the fact that their prices have skyrocketed in suspicious, $1.00 per item intervals, and I've just about had it with their greed and lack of effort to assist. I don't do InstaCart with them because InstaCart makes terrible mistakes and refuses to fix them unless you write letters to all their corporate offices before someone will do anything helpful. I asked for a store manager to assist tonight, and the cashier (not very helpful, nor friendly) said he "couldn't do anything" to take my check. I call complete b.s. on that. The manager runs the store, does all the overrides on transactions, and can approve checks. So, no groceries for me tonight. The one good thing that works at Ralph's is their pharmacy, but I can't even refill my scrips online anymore because they go straight into an InstaCart. Also, the pharmacy's web site is buggy and inaccurate.

Online shopping exp. HORRIBLE

Online shopping experience was HORRIBLE. Didn't have product I ordered but was still charged, then requested to cancel my order online myself through my account. Logged into account to cancel order and could not was prompted to contact their call center which to no surprise is located in India. Reached rep who could barely speak English and who could not cancel order and asked me to log into my account to cancel. When I told him I couldn't he advised nothing he could do. WTH?! Complete circle jerk only to find out they will automatically cancel order if not picked up after certain smh for as OVERPRICED as this place is, you'd think they'd invest in a better system. Will never use again.

Ralph’s has raised prices above and…

Ralph’s has raised prices above and beyond reasonable. Prices are customer gouging. The basic food items that I purchase weekly for instance Best Foods mayonnaise went from 4.99 on sale to 8.99. Name brand butter cost has risen at least $3. U.S. Consumer Agency needs to send some secret shoppers in there and also perform customer satisfaction reports. I used to look forward to shopping at your stores but you’ve lost my family as customers. These prices ( and I’ve only named two) are beyond ‘inflation’ and definitely fall within the definition of price gouging.

I never get bags

I never get bags, they rarely give ne bag credits. I spend all morning collecting coupons, bag credits are IMPORTANT TO ME. I must have 20 dollars or more of bag credits that Ralph's owes me. Please educate your staff that even if customers don't use any bags it also means we didn't use YOUR BAGS AND THEY NEED TO GIVE BAG CREDITS. If this happens to me again, I will STOP SHOPPING AR ALL RALPHS STORES AND WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNIWS WHY. Ralphs is essentially stealing from me.

Ralph’s Scamming Customers by selling fraudulent Visa Gift cards!

On June 15th, I purchased a $300 Visa gift card at the Ralph’s store #205 at the Calabasas Commons as a Father’s Day gift for my elderly and disabled father. The card did not work when dad tried to use it, so we went to the website on the back of the card - the card number was not valid. We called the customer service number on the card and were told that this was a fraudulent card, the card number and bar code do not match, and to contact the store where we purchased it. I contacted Ralph’s, and after over a week and half, the store manager, Edwin, confirmed that I was sold a fraudulent card that had been tampered with. The manager told me that this is a big problem for the store, and as much as they try, they can’t prevent fraudulent cards from being placed on the card kiosks. According to him, the store loaded the money onto a card, so the transaction is good as far as they are concerned, even though they loaded it to a bar code stuck onto my card by a scammer. Because the card they sold me had been tampered with, the money never went to the card we purchased. He is refusing to give me a refund, issue me a new card, or even offer a store credit in the amount of my purchase. And the corporate customer service for Ralph’s and their parent company, Kroger is completely useless. Ralph’s Calabasas is taking no responsibility for the fact that they are selling fraudulent products - possibly the most expensive products in the store (as these cards can go up to $500). Ralph’s is aware that this is a problem, yet they are keeping these cards on their shelves and selling them to customers. Anyone who purchases a gift card from Ralph’s/Kroger stores, is in danger of losing large amount of money with seemingly no recourse. The stores are fully complicit in this scam.

The worst ever experience at a grocery…

The worst ever experience at a grocery store I passed by Ralph woodman/Sherman way to buy groceries before picking up my wife from work. It was the worst experience in my life. Alma, who was the cashier was very sarcastic, disrespectful, animalistic, & a liar. I requested to get cash back in $20’s but she gave me $10’s instead. She ignored my request and argued disrespectfully. I’ve been buying groceries at Ralph’s because of the food quality but the service quality I received from Alma was the worst I’ve ever encountered. Alma shouldn’t be working in a place that deal with people because of poor customer service.

Ralphs Store 19781 Rinaldi St

Ralphs Store 19781 Rinaldi St, Northridge, CA 91326 This store manager Ray is a complete ass and liar and incompetent. For the last year, we had problems with their 30% off with 6 mixes and match Sake/Wine etc. Every time I take pictures and every time there is a problem, it gets ultimately fixed. Huge pain in the behind, since the whole line, comes to a complete stop until someone figures out how to bypass the register. (The real question is why do they even need to bypass the system, what moron programmed that anyhow? This is coming from a Systems Manager that has been doing this for over 35 years.) Here is a picture of the items. Now, Ray after he schlepped his fat ass over to the alcohol aisle and sees with his own eyes that I wasn't lying, the sign is clearly there. he went back to his register and tried again and then flat out told me, it's Alcohol, there is nothing I can do. In essence, every other person that worked there and helped in the past was wrong and he is right. What a loser. I called corporate and they will escalate it since this is not only unacceptable behavior from a manager but also false advertising, which by last count was illegal.

You don't look handicapped

I shop for my 82 year old Mother. I am disabled. I often cry myself to sleep as I am in such pain and refuse to take opiates or any other pharmaceuticals. I don't need the rest of my body breaking down or an addiction. I have shopped at Ralph's for over 40 years now. I have always been pleased with the company until 10 weeks ago. I have repeatedly told management the disabled carts are broken. I have been stranded several times in back of store with a cart full of groceries and no one in sight to help. If I do not bring food to my Mother she will not eat. She is set in her ways and insists on Ralphs. Today the cart stranded me again in the store. I made my way to the front of the store with the two items I could carry. I told the cashier about the cart situation and he responded by saying its probably not charged. I then said its more than that, the carts stop moving in the middle of the aisle fully charged. He responded again, by saying he knew that. After checking out I walked toward the exit near the row of handicap parking spots. As I approached the door the guard had his keys out getting ready to lock the door and I said can I please get out this door. He said no go around to other door. I responded that I couldn’t, I’m disabled. He again said no go to other door. I said I cant, but I can if you get me a disability cart. Of course he couldn’t get me a cart because the only operational cart had a dead battery. I stood there with groceries in hand, frustrated and said open the bleeping door. Not my best moment. Some employee said they are calling the police. I responded please do knowing the officers would help me to my car. Of course no one called. I said I would stand there in that spot and wait for the police. The manager then said that if I calmed down she would open the door. I then said please do. It was 6:00pm. I walked to my car obviously limping severely while Being followed by that same guard. He then said something that I can’t shake. He said you don’t look handicapped. I responded can you repeat that. He said you heard me you don’t look handicapped. Then he said your banned from the store. Assuming is not a good tactic in such a situation, yet I cant help but wonder If the guard hadn’t already come to a conclusion about my abilities and that’s why he chose not to open the door for me and then followed me out to say you don’t look handicapped. A sad state of affairs to say the least. More will be revealed! I choose not to name the guard or manager. They know who they are. I write this in hopes that such a travesty does not occur again, especially to another who can not speak or stand up for themselves.
