AMD Recoil Series 16 2025 gaming laptop (9955HX3D+5090) This laptop is manufactured by Chinese company Tongfang/Uniwill. PC specialist merely attach their logo to the chassis to sell as their own and as a result offer next to zero creative control regarding future software/bios updates. TLDR: you get the laptop as is and little to nothing more... The AMD CPU version has VERY limited bios options vs other branded top spec laptops. No CPU under volt or memory tuning bios options, and the GPU is bizarrely limited to PCEi gen 4 8x lanes when it is capable of gen 5 x16. The Control Centre software the laptop ships with is also buggy and dated by modern standards and has no in-app update support functionallity. The only way to recieve software and bios updates are by directly emailing PC Specialist requesting so, and doing so is like pulling teeth. I have spent months requesting updates to the bois to which have all but fallen on deaf ears. Their tech support team has severe limited knowledge about these laptops they're happy to sell, and trying to get them to issue you updates is near impossible. Ultimately if you buy this laptop expect to recive zero on going software support for it. The laptop itself and build quality is decent, and at this price point it's quite competivie vs real brands, but that being said I'd advise anyone to buy elswhere if proper long term on going support is important to you. I persoanlly wouldn't buy a gaming laptop from PCS again.

Fast delivery, well packaged. Unfortunately on boot up, the pre installed Windows 11 hung on updating even before I’d managed to get to the login screen even after 5 hours. The recovery partition was also screwed so was unable to do a reset and had to download W11 using my wife’s laptop as there is no media supplied with the pc. As it’s pre installed, I had to locate all the specific drivers and tools that W11 had missed so in total it took about 5 hours to get the pc finished. Once running though, it runs beautifully. It looks amazing, extremely quiet and smooth. Plays the latest games without issue and have had no issues with it since.

Prices and choice of parts, both good. The website not having prices by each component option is annoying. Choice of cases is poor if you want something tasteful (if you want the RGB lit, basement dwelling gamer vibe, you're spoilt for choice) The final build has issues: the cases top usb ports weren't connected despite there being spare headers on the motherboard. The cable management (which was very neat, to be fair) routed cables in such a way that they vibrate and make noise against the GPU case when fans get up to speed. I was disappointed how long such a simple build took (10 days, I think). Overall happy and will use them again because for the price, these are very minor complaints.

I've had 3 PCs made by PCSpecialist over the years for myself and family. They've always been great and the customer service is spot on.

I am extremely unhappy. I bought a top of the range pc in 2023 (30/09/2023)for £3899,00, it was an i9 2tb with top 4090 graphics card. Last year I tried to extend warranty as the year was nearly over and was told I could not. today 22/08/25 2 years and five month after purchase the Samsung 2tb hard drive failed and computer is totally broken. I would expect considering how much it cost for it to last much longer, no wonder they would not offer extended warranty. buyer beware! I understand companies such as this add comments to make it seem they have sorted issues, please don't believe it. I will update if they offer a good enough response. If not it will just be corporate waffle. I think there is a law the 2015 consumer rights act that may help me. Update 25/08/2025 PC Specialist have reported this review as Harmful or illegal content, as a result Trustpilot have temporarily removed this review for investigation. It would appear there maybe a reason why this company has good reviews if they are allowed to block negative ones. I hope Trustpilot can see all I wrote was my truthful experience. No abuse or lies included.

Easy ordering process! Very simple to configure the PC and all delivered in a quick time frame. The process is simple and the updates are excellent! PC is working well and is now our second one.

Pre ordering was great as the live online person gave me all the relevant info so that I could make a decision on which PC to get. The delivery and set up went perfectly. After sales was also great as I needed a extra lead because I use two monitors, again I got sorted straight away with a call to Tech support who gave me the precise info that I needed to purchase a new lead. Thanks for a great experience.

The PC arrived exactly when it was supposed to and was easy to set up and get started with. When I had an issue the following morning (a problem caused by my existing monitor rather than the PC) I called the support line. I got a swift answer and was promptly helped to identify and resolve the issue.

It is my 2nd PC. Very satisfied with the build. Quick - it took 7 days with a delivery. Amazing. I 100% recommend PC Specialists !!! They know their craft. You will not be disappointed. Great job! Thank you!!!

28 days after order and still not been dispatched, no communication from them. Poor experience after spending 2.5k.

Everything was as promised. The laptop is top spec and runs beautifully. Communication was great and so was packaging and delivery. Very happy and will probably be returning for another in the month or so.
