We had intitally approached the Clifton branch of Ocean, with the understanding that it would help move the process along if we were within walking distance (we had two months exactly to buy our property in order to avoid the stamp duty hike), so we were at first a little dismayed when we were allocated to the Portishead branch. We were, however, completely wrong to have worried and, as far as we are concerned, we now consider it to have been a blessing. Let me be clear - Karen is an absolute wonder of a solicitor, and she worked like an utter machine in order to get us across the line in time. Her communication turn around was fast, her tenacity was remarkable, she addressed queries, chased without having to be asked, was clear and confident in utilising her expertise and, in all regards, went above and beyond. We could not have been happier with her, she got us into our dream home, and we will forever be thankful to her. Claire was great! She arrived on time, had clearly recieved and understood the information we had given and was incredibly pleasant. She was clear and helpful with her feedback, made our potential next steps very clear and wasn't pushy at all. If we decide to go forward we will definitely use Ocean if Claire is available.

As first-time buyers with no prior knowledge of the mortgage process, we were incredibly lucky to have Simon Lack as our advisor. The journey turned out to be far more complicated than we’d expected, but Simon made everything feel manageable. He took the time to explain every step clearly and patiently, never making us feel silly for asking questions. His calm, kind manner made a stressful process much easier to navigate. What really stood out was how responsive and supportive Simon was throughout. No matter how small the question, he was always quick to reply and generous with his time. It genuinely felt like he was the most important person in the whole process—and amazingly, we didn’t even have to pay for his service. We honestly can’t recommend Simon highly enough; he was an absolute lifeline, and we’re so grateful for his help in getting us into our first home.

Ocean estate were really easy to work with and made our renting experience very efficient. My partner and I have just moved from overseas and we were concerned we'd face a lot of issues when it came to renting, but our letting agent Lily Butler was so helpful and got back to us super quickly whenever we had questions or concerns. It was one of the least stressful renting experiences we've ever had. Within two weeks of arriving in the UK, we had a lovely place to rent and had finished all the paperwork. Thanks Lily!

Karen Lassauzet was amazing from start to finish and help secure our property purchase, she went above and beyond chasing various lawyers from a long chain to make sure we completed before our mortgage offer expired. I would highly recommend Karen, and we will certainly be using her services again.

Our agent, Charlotte Payne, made it incredebly easy for us to find a place to call home. The process was quick and efficient.

Terrible communication. I had to chase endlessly throughout a 9 month process. They had the interstate of the seller above the buyer at all times. I felt lied to at multiple times and the ‘selling manager’ did not have a handle on the sale at all, repeatedly asking for the same information that she already had as well as not communicating with us and Ben calling us by the wrong names. The process should have been simple with no chain, but went on for nearly a year, mostly due to incompetence. And even in the end, no resolution for us as buyers, as we were still left with unsatisfied enquiries , just to get the sale through. Then not even the decency to hand us over our keys when we finally came to completion, despite agreeing a time. Extremely poor service, would never recommend.

We were very happy with Ocean Property Lawyers who were our solicitors for our recent house purchase. Initially we were going to buy a house through Ocean Estate Agents and mostly through laziness we decided to use their in house solicitors because it meant not having to find one ourselves. However, when the purchase fell through after several months, as we were already dealing with Claire as our solicitor, we kept her on to help us buy the house we subsequently found through a different estate agent. Throughout the process she was very clear, thorough and always approachable. We would heartily recommend her and Ocean Property Lawyers to anyone looking to buy a house.
