Napo Pet Insurance Reviews

Not often I can say this about any insurance company, but Napo have been brilliant so far. Incredibly quick responses and with all claim payments to date (same day in some instances). My vet said they have even been quicker than Pet Plan! I do worry about how much my premiums will rise (as policy is due for renewal and based on other reviews), so I hope I dont end up having to amend this review ....

Napo have insured both my dogs , one has an on going condition and the other unfortunately had a deep significant injury to her paw after a day out at the beach went horribly wrong with her injury. However Napo’s response and communication enabled me to receive the reassurance and support I needed and whilst they are thorough in their information gathering, I have found them to be extremely responsive and helpful throughout my claim. I would recommend them to anyone who asks me about a responsive insurer who manage claims effectively and quickly

Used the FirstVet service via Napo for an out of hours call when our dog suddenly developed a lame hind leg late at night. We got an appointment within 30 minutes, the vet was lovely, walked us through checks to perform on video for them, and gave us some clear next steps. If nothing else, it's a great comfort knowing this service is available.

Never made a claim or even contacted them, but my policy went up 56% from £74 a month to £114 per month. Blamed the cost of vets fees etc. Went with Tesco who offered exactly the same cover and it's now £60 a month!! Napo, entice you in then hit you with a MASSIVE renewal fee.

Awful company. Came up with a pathetic loophole not to pay for my dog’s operation. Left me with the decision to either leave her in pain find the operation money myself or the unspeakable. Thankfully I am in a position to pay for the operation but it grates that I have had to find it after paying these charlatans for insurance.No point in giving money to a company who do not meet their obligations. Would not go anywhere near them again.

I had cause to use the First Vet video consultation and found it really good. Fast appointment was given. Call was on time and the vet gave good advice and help in regards to treatment on my dogs skin condition.

Had a 2am video call with a vet, which was very good, he put our mind at rest, the information given was very helpful, also the call was followed up with a report of the call and what advice was given and what to do if situation changes. This was an excellent service. Highly recommend.

Received excellent prudent advice on collecting a puppy who is on meds for an infection . Vet allayed our fears in that she advised on ensuring sellers Vet gives a clean bill of health after2/3 weeks.

This was such an easy and convenient way for my dog’s eye issues to get checked by a vet. It was a non urgent case but I had plenty of choice of appointments. The technology worked perfectly and the vet was very knowledgeable, could make a detailed assessment and provide next steps advice. Was very reassuring and a brilliant way to access veterinary treatment without distressing my dog in the slightest. Thank you Napo!

Napo were excellent from beginning to end of my vet experience. In a time of absolute stress worrying about my dog they simply dealt with everything, all I had to do was provide my vets details and animal hospital details. They updated me confirming when the invoices were settled, which I add was very quick. I couldn’t have asked for a better service than what I received.

I have previously given Napo a 5-star review for the efficiency and speed of handling their claims. They are the best insurance company I have used. Recently, we made a claim that came to just under £1,450, which Napo paid. Our policy is due for renewal next month and Napo have increased our premium from just under £600 a year to nearly £1900, an increase of £1300. That's nearly the cost of the claim. In effect, Napo have given us a loan. We will be using another provider for our insurance now, which is unfortunate because Napo's claim procedure is excellent, as is their customer service.

Dr Thomas, the vet we spoke to was knowledgable & reassuring, providing me with sound advice for if the issue happens again, and how to avoid it. I was able to get an appointment the same evening, she was able to ensure there was nothing serious that needed emergency treatment via the video link, meaning I was reassured that my puppy was fine. No waiting for my vet’s usual hours or having a bill to pay. I would thoroughly recommend this service! Thank you.

Napo were just so helpful with my claim from start to finish. Sadly my little frenchie passed away unexpectedly after an operation and they handled my case extremely sensitively with compassion and empathy. The process was stress-free which is exactly how it should be. A truly first class service!

Helpful and knowledgeable vet - able to get appointment on a bank holiday

I was able to download the FirstVet app easily and it automatically synced with my insurance. I booked an appointment with a dog behaviourist through the app, which was at no cost. I gave all the details during booking so the appointment went really smoothly. I got an appointment for about 10 days after booking, which wasn't too long to wait. It was really easy to join the video call through the app. The behaviourist was able to explain the likely causes of certain behaviours and gave me easy to follow training advice to correct those behaviours. They're also providing written materials through the app. I understand if we have any issues I can book a follow up appointment.
