Substandard vehicle. The power chord connection to the camp connection didn’t work properly. Needed a lot of adjustments to make it work. Super high petroleum consumption. Used almost double the budget to reach the destination then required. The lady on the phone - super rude to be answering any form of questions. Not very nice to be in a customer service support.
We had a 4 berth camper van and it’s super comfortable, the process to booking the van, arranging the ferry, picking up and dropping off the van was effortless. We had no problems travelling with it and will definitely recommend it.
2006 model on 484000km mileage, check engine from pick.up guaranteed that will be ok. Van was not worthy for long travel and uphill road, its like crawling to the top. Gas consumption is terrible. Lucky and thankful for me it was relocation and arived alive in my destination but will not do it again in the future with there van.
Staff were very helpful at pickup, and by email throughout the hire. The Camper was cozy, watertight (very important on the West Coast!) and started first time, every time, no matter how cold it was. Dropoff process was just as easy, and at only 7 minutes from the airport, could not have been more convenient. Organised and booked from Australia for a trip in NZ, I would not hesitate to hire from them again, the rates were reasonable and the service was fantastic!
Great service. The transport was tidy and in great condition. Staff were professional in their manner everything was upfront and quick and efficient service. I would recommend this company.
People were nice. The van did not have all of the cooking equipment it said it would have . The door window was dodgey and also the side door was dodgey until we took it back to get fixed
The staff was nice and the campervan was good enough. Especially, super cheap! We hired for 7 days and there was no issue.
At first we were unsure because we read mixed reviews. We were late with booking so we were just very happy to get a camper van in our price range. We booked the Lucky rambler for 10 days. The pick up was easy, the check and look around the car was done quickly. If you are travelling in autumn or winter, I would def. recommend to book the heater, which was useful for nights on campgrounds. We stayed on a doc ground the first night, it was raining when we realized they forgot the bedding! We got the covers but no actual blanket. We later found out that it was supposed to be on the top bed, but it wasn't. That was a downer. We bought cheap pillows and blankets ourselves - problem solved. After day 3 we wanted to fill up the fresh water tank until we noticed that we were almost flooding the car and the water came out again underneath the car. We were so stressed until I saw that the water pipe had a crack. We called the number that was given to us and they sorted everything for us. We were able to meet a mobile plumber at a carpark in Wanaka at 7pm the same day. He was very friendly and skilled, because he was able to fix the pipe on the spot! It only took an hour of our time. The pipe was old and it was a matter of time - I was relieved it was't our fault. That service was a 5/5 even though I wish it didn't happen in the first place. We continued to travel and the car did great even though it was a bit older. Always remember to switch the lights off when you park as the car doesn't give any signal. We did need a jump start after a 6 hrs hike... The instruction video on YouTube is very helpful and we watched it many times for different reasons. The service was great though and they would have given us a refund for the blanket and pillow as they simply forgot it. But we didn't have the receipts and they were very cheap, so no big deal, but I was glad they offered. Also, two weeks after our amazing travels in NZ, I got an email from them asking, if I have lost my kindle in the van - they found one. And indeed it was mine. Thank you! Overall, the rambler might be a bit old (they are newer ones as well), but that also didn't let me worry too much about scratches and the customer service was great. I would book it again :)
Reception, 4 day contract and Chc-Akl drop off informed and seemless. Unaware vehicle was transferring for refurbish. Mattress worn suggesting unclean, improper covering. Never slept or cooked in camper. Around $300 in fuel. Used transfer as alternative and more flexible than flying.
It was great, The campervan could of been updated as it was very expensive on fuel, Other than that, Great.
Great no issues
My totally self contained camper allowed me all comforts and freedom I hoped for. Used only the upper bed. Drove 2800k in 2 weeks at a 12.3L/100km petrol consumption. Hand over and drop off were smooth. Free transport to airport was included. The van was a bit old but some dent that wasn't there on pic up was ignored.
Was wondering if I was going to be lonely on my trip but thankfully I wasn’t as a family of rodents was supplied with the trip co-insistently I have returned to the uk with a fever from hell, thus missing more time off work, the onboard stove didn’t work and neither did the plugs, And a 20 percent refund???? Because the manager couldn’t be asked to see me like I had arranged with head office. Allan bit of a joke would highly recommend to avoid
It was overall a pretty good experience. The car was good with no issue (happy sleeper). I had an issue with the car and the company allow me to swap quickly with a fee (60nz). I had the worry free package.
got what i payed for a perfectly functional vehicle. beasy pick upand minimal fuss
Fridge did not work, even when plugged in the 240V.
$250 never came back to my funds
Staff were friendly and helpful. The vehicle was clean and everything worked. The staff demonstrated how everything operated. It was difficult to assemble the bottom bed. I couldn't manage it on my own. The top bed was very close to the ceiling of the vehicle. It was claustrophobic. The linen was very thin. The engine didn't have a lot of torque and was slow going up hills. We emptied out the water in the tanks to make it lighter in an effort to be able to drive up hills easier. I will not be touring New Zealand in a vehicle like this again.
car was in a perfect condition, newer model, great features. super friendly employees, fair prices, no problems at all. even extended two more days as i loved it so much. if you look for an alternative to jucy - this is the way better pick!!!
