Lovers Canal Cruises has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Forced to give a one star, faced a very rude staff who talked rude to us while using the pay n use toilet in the cofee shop .Why would we jump line to to save a couple of euros when we can buy 3 cruise tickets! No wonder the ratings are so poor. That is not 'NORMAL' behaviour while serving customets girl!.
Op dinsdagmiddag 10 juni had ik een nare ervaring bij de ticketbalie van Lovers Canal Cruises bij Amsterdam Centraal. Ik vroeg op een normale en vriendelijke manier of ik recht had op korting met mijn pas. De medewerker van de klantenservice – die ik op dat moment telefonisch sprak – bevestigde dat dit inderdaad het geval was. Tot mijn verbazing weigerden de dames bij de kassa dit te accepteren. Sterker nog: ze vielen de medewerker van de klantenservice verbaal aan, terwijl ik het gesprek via de telefoon volgde. Het was ronduit vijandig en ongemakkelijk om als klant tussen twee interne medewerkers te staan die zo met elkaar omgaan. Ik voelde me totaal niet welkom. Uiteindelijk ben ik zonder tickets vertrokken omdat ik me er ronduit onprettig bij voelde. Dit is niet wat je verwacht van een organisatie die toeristen en bezoekers op een prettige manier wil ontvangen. Een zeer teleurstellende ervaring.
I am so glad we got to see the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam from the water. You get to see and learn about the architecture and the history of the city. Our captain was fun and friendly, making some extra comments on top of the audio guide for a more personal experience.
We pre-booked a 2.00pm Lovers cruise which we intended to board on the canal in front of the Rijks Museum. The season is spring/summer. The temperature was about 20deg. On arrival, we were informed that there was to be no 2.00pm cruise and we would have to wait for the 2.30pm cruise. I asked if a refund could be claimed and was told "No". We boarded the 2.30pm boat and all looked good. It was not a busy day and there were only about 6 other people looking to board. Then we were told to disembark because we were to cruise on another boat with a large group which might spill over to 2 boats. Great (groan), the boat was going to be full. Anyway, about the cruise itself. The boat was covered with a perspex top and solid framework. This was not too hot under the sun, but our position up the front precluded the possibility of taking any decent photos and limited what you could see. Commentary through supplied ear phones was pretty poor and intermittent and often, during an important piece of information about a particular building or landmark, the captain would come on the PA to point out that feature. Listening to both the captain and the ear phone commentary meant that you basically heard neither. I'm sure the captain meant well but we would have been better off if he stayed quiet. Overall, I feel that this cruise was a waste of 35EUR for 2 of us. I would recommend, if you wish to do a canal cruise, choose an open boat with no cover and enjoy the sun and better view.

Helaas een negatieve ervaring. 53 euro voor twee kaartjes, weggegooid geld. Met honderden mensen op de kade wachtend om op de boot te kunnen. Totaal ongeorganiseerd en overboekt. Personeel dat ons niets wist te vertellen over de gang van zaken. Eenmaal op de boot na ruim een uur wachten in de rij, zittend aan het middenpad, had je slecht zicht op de kunstwerken van het Amsterdam Light festival. Dochter was bekaf van het wachten en niets kon haar meer boeien. Iets wat een leuk moeder-dochter uitje had moeten zijn, viel volledig in het water. Slecht visitekaartje ook voor al die toeristen die zich hierop hadden verheugd. Jammer….echt weggegooid geld….

Have 2 tickets at 19:30, we arrived 10 minutes in advance, however cruise did not depart until 20:10. We had to wait outside fully exposed to the cold . Other people had issues with subsequent schedules due to the delay of the cruises. Young lady, representative of Cruise company, was not able to answer when and how we can get a boat. very poor and impolitely communication and service

Veel te duur natuurlijk, die € 26,50. Gelukkig was er wel voldoende plaats en hadden we de sculpturen goed kunnen bekijken. Hadden, als de boot niet steeds zo snel langs de lichtsculpturen was gevaren. En als de ramen niet zo beslagen waren. Tip: ramen dicht en verwarming aan. Ik dacht ook dat op de website stond, dat de boten verwarmd waren. Dit kan véél beter, Lovers! Enne, ook veel goedkoper.

Comprare i biglietti e trovare il posto per la partenza è stato facile, con indicazioni precise e dettagliate. Ci siamo presentati con l’anticipo richiesto, ma abbiamo fatto una lunga fila e siamo saliti con più di mezz’ora di ritardo sul battello. Dentro eravamo seduti nei posti centrali (il resto tutto occupato) e non siamo riusciti a vedere bene le installazioni essendoci solo i finestrini laterali, alcune anzi non siamo proprio riusciti a vederle. Per il costo del biglietto, il servizio è migliorabile.

De mevrouw die ons naar de boot moest begeleiden was super onaardig. We waren met een groep van 6 mensen en er was alleen plaats buiten of niet bij elkaar. We vroegen of we voor de volgende boot konden wachten en werden toen door haar vreselijk onaardig behandeld en zelfs “moeilijke mensen” genoemd. Tevens had de boot vertraging van meer dan een half uur. Als kers op de taart stopte de motor van de boot middenin het water en moesten we terug gesleept worden.
