Give it a chance
I was really skeptical and hesitant to try Lin Health, but I am happy I gave it a chance. I was in this program for about three months before deciding to branch out on my own. I know that if I ever need to come back and start meeting with my coach again, I have that option.
I found the couching to be particularly helpful and motivating. I am good at learning new information, but not great at implementing it and holding myself accountable. I have a graduate degree in health psychology and an interest in chronic illness, so I already knew a lot of the research and information presented in the program, but I needed someone to help me translate the information into sustainable habits. My coach Madelyn was good at giving me homework, holding me accountable, and helping me alter my goals if they didn't fit into my life. She was also a wealth of information and really helped me celebrate my wins. It was really helpful for me to have someone to share my success with.
This program has been extremely beneficial for me and has set me on the path of taking my life back from chronic migraine. I am now equipped to stop fearful thoughts in their tracks and to treat myself with compassion and respect. Despite having uncomfortable sensations, I am able to remind my brain that I am safe. Because of this, I have regained a sense of freedom and feel empowered to live my life how I want.
My neurologist was also impressed by my reduction of pain days and told me to keep up the habits I have implemented while following this program.
My suggestions to anyone considering joining the program:
1. You get out what you put into it. You have to be willing to be uncomfortable and try something new.
2. Be consistent with the practices that Lin Health teaches you. Consistency and building healthy habits is key.
3. You can do this! :)
Thank you Madelyn, and thank you Lin Health!
