Appalling customer service, unexpectedly well used car with 238,000 kms on the clock. Do not provide your customers with unexpectedly negative surprises.
The vans design was great the staff were helpful although the deposit amounts weren't clear enough and came as a but of a shock.whem we collected the van.
Jucy Campervan Rentals was an absolute nightmare and my biggest travel regret to date. From start to finish, their incompetence and lack of communication were appalling. Our ordeal began on Thursday when our 11:00 am pickup was delayed first by 20 minutes for fueling and then an additional 1.5 hours due to a mechanical issue. Despite stressing the importance of making it to a 1:40 pm tour in Te Anau, we were assured of a refund for the tour as the van wouldn't be ready in time. Reluctantly, we left without the refund but were promised it would be processed upon our return... big mistake. To top it off, we were rushed out without the snow chains we had specifically added to our rental agreement for safety. On Sunday, things went from bad to worse. At 10:00 am the vehicle came to a stop whilst driving and became completely inoperable. We were forced to stop in an extremely unsafe location, unable to drive further. After a 40 minute wait to connect with AA, we were told assistance would arrive within 15-60 minutes. Instead, we waited for 2 hours in a dangerous spot, constantly reiterating our precarious position to Jucy HQ and AA. Throughout this ordeal, Jucy’s communication was abysmal. We repeatedly called their headquarters, only to be told we’d receive a callback within 20 minutes. This callback never came, leaving us in the dark and forcing us to initiate contact multiple times. When AA finally arrived, they managed to get us to Twizel by replacing the battery but confirmed the vehicle was unsafe to drive further. Jucy HQ then advised us to book accommodation and food for the night, assuring us that expenses would be reimbursed. Monday morning brought no relief. Despite calling Jucy as soon as they opened, we were informed that vehicles were available in Queenstown but the staff were “too busy” to bring one to us. It had now been over 24 hours with no help whatsoever. Instead, we were told to extend our hotel stay and wait for a tow. This so-called solution was nothing short of a joke. We were left waiting for hours with no clear instructions or updates, and when the tow truck finally arrived at 4:00 pm, the driver had no instructions from Jucy on where to even bring us. To add insult to injury, the refund for the missed tour was denied because the staff member who assured us had quit the next day. We were told they could not honor the staff member's words since he had quit the company... honestly, I can't blame him, but seriously? Despite being explicitly told to keep receipts for reimbursement for the extra food and accommodation, we were later informed these would not be covered. We were left stranded without any support for over 30 hours, losing 2.5 days of our holiday due to Jucy’s gross incompetence and complete lack of responsibility. Jucy Campervan Rentals is the epitome of an irresponsible and unprofessional company. Their severe lack of communication, failure to provide essential safety equipment we purchased, and refusal to honor promised refunds turned our holiday into a disaster. I would never recommend Jucy to anyone. Save yourself the headache and choose a more reliable company. This was undoubtedly my biggest travel regret.
Awesome friendly pickup, great car and service
as requested prefilled the forms to make it easier however on the day of the pickup I had to re do all. So what was the use of prefilling the forms.
Staff were great
In the car started popping up the oil signal and it had been three days until they swap it. Not only that, they made us come 12h and a half to their branch in Brisbane in a toll truck (which was bringing two more cars before, so it took ages to arrive in that more than unconfortable vehicle). It was insane! It’s really difficult getting in touch with them, even if you are in trouble, and the “help” they give you, it’s not the one that a serious company would give to anyone.
Great staff right from the moment the driver collected us from the airport. Very chatty and very helpful.
Während des Aufenthalts ist die Lichtmaschine des Wagens kaputt gegangen, sodass er für 2 komplette Tage genutzt werden konnte (ungefähr 10% der gesamten Mietdauer). Eine Alternativfahrzeug oder die Übernahme resultierender Transportkosten zu touristischen Zielen wurde nicht angeboten. Der Kundenservice ist sehr schwer erreichbar, oft wird nur das internationale After Hours Team erreicht, dass allerdings nicht helfen kann und auf einen Rückruf verweist. Insgesamt ein sehr schlechter Kundenservice, der den eigentlichen Break Down noch verschlimmert. Insgesamt sind die Autos sehr alt und man hört auch von anderen Fahrer*innen von Ausfällen und Problemen(grüne Autos-hoher Widererkennungswert) Die Ausstattung der Autos ist nicht auf den Winter ausgelegt (Obwohl Schneeketten dazugebucht wurden). Es gab Sommerreifen, keinen Eiskratzer und keinen Schwamm/Lappen für beschlagene Scheiben. All das wäre jedoch notwendig gewesen. Die Reifen des ersten Autos waren so abgefahren, dass die Annahme verweigert wurde. Der Gaskocher ist nicht für tiefe Temperaturen ausgelegt, ab ungefähr 0° C, insbesondere morgens/nach längerer Standzeit ist der Druck der Gasflasche nicht mehr ausreichend, um Wasser zu erhitzen. Wintergasflaschen im notwendigen Format habe ich nicht gefunden. Eine Tür-LED hat willkürlich geleuchtet und geflackert, auch wenn der Schalter aus und alle Türen geschlossen waren. (Vermutlich ein Pfusch im Bordnetz). Dies ist insbesondere nachts sehr nervig, da die LED direkt über dem Kopf ist. An der Tür, ebenfalls direkt am Bett, gab es Schimmelspuren. Einziger Lichtblick: Netter Staff vorort und einfache Übernahme und Abgabe des Fahrzeugs. (Bei hohem Aufkommen kann es etwas(1h) dauern, aber alles im Rahmen. Unbedingt die Temperatur des Kühlschranks checken. Bei mir stand er auf -17°C und hat in der ersten Nacht die Batterie leergezogen und das Gemüse durchgefroren)
Very easy process, friendly team, affordable!
Service from the team was exceptional. Any questions I had, they answered without hesitation. Shuttle to the airport after drop off was incredible! Niko the shuttle driver was phenomenal and very very friendly! Highly recommend JUCY Christchurch! :)
I only just received the car but the checkout was good.
Do not use this company! Their emergency service to help with any broken down vehicles is useless, when our RV broke down it took a day for the new RV to arrive, and they refuse to pay us the money for an overnight hotel stay despite full insurance with them and telling us over the phone that they’d cover any hotel fares. After dropping off said RV, they also didn’t provide any duvets or deck chairs. Overall, the service here is very poor and the vehicles are barely road legal.
No shuttle bus on weekend Thay say they have a shuttle bus run from the airport, but no on weekend. We wasted time. Other than that, no problem so far.
Jucy staff explained well and more than I asked. And provide phone holder!!
See previous comment. Your staff did, after some discussion, switch us to another vehicle that had only done 200,000km, but it too has suffered some hardship over its life.
Staff were friendly and very informative, knew where to find required documents and very helpful with ideas of where to visit in Area. Had 2x kids 5&6 with me booster seats supplied at a good price and easy to use.

J'ai loué un camper van Crib+ pendant environ 2 semaines, et ça s'est relativement bien passé ! En fait au début quand j'ai eu le camper van, quelques dizaines de minutes après, je me rends compte que je devais pencher le volant vers la droite pour que le véhicule aille tout droit ! J'avais déjà pas mal de route à faire, bref je m'étais dit que si ils m'avaient donné le véhicule de la sorte, c'est ça devait aller ! Finalement au bout de 3 ou 4 jours, je me décide de les contacter, et ils me disent que je peux l'amener à un garagiste, et qu'ils me rembourseront la facture. Je n'ai pas voulu et j'étais pas loin de Queenstown où ils ont aussi une agence, donc je l'ai amené là bas, ils l'ont inspecté sans attendre, et ils m'ont proposé 3 solutions : la 1ère, celle initiale, la seconde, qu'ils vont faire les réparations et ils me le rendent, et la 3ème, ils me donnent tout de suite un autre véhicule. J'ai opté pour la 3ème option ! Ça a duré au total environ 2h, et ils m'ont en plus remboursé une journée de location !! Donc bon, j'étais quand même content !! Je prends le nouveau véhicule et 30 minutes plus tard environ, je me rends compte que ça ne sentait pas bon du tout. Bref, encore une autre histoire mais je m'étais dit tant pis, je ne vais pas faire demi tour déjà ! Bon, j'ai du dormir les portes du van ouvertes, et c'est ainsi. J'ai quand même fait une superbe expérience dans la nuit, de sentir l'air pénétrer le van et de ressentir l'air, c'était génial !!! Comme quoi, dans des situations pas géniales de prime abord, ça permet l'émergence d'autres expériences fabuleuses !!! Bref, le jour où je devais rendre le van, pour 10h du mat, je me rends compte la veille au soir que je voulais faire quelque chose de super important le lendemain. J'appelle le lendemain matin Jucy, et je leur en parle, et je leur demande si je peux le rendre plus tard ! Ils m'ont dit que d'accord, que je peux le ramener au plus tard pour 15h. OH WOW J'ÉTAIS TROP CONTENT !!!! Donc MERCIII !!!! VRAIMENT MERCI JUCY !!!!!! ✨✨✨ Donc voilà et je n'ai pas eu à payer de supplément !!! Dans l'ensemble j'étais quand même satisfait, ce fut de superbes expériences !!!!! Merci vraiment encore merci !!!!
