Terrible firm. Incompetent, rude and arrogant. Please avoid this law firm at all costs. No axe to grind here at all and I will be making a complaint to the law society.

I'm using JS Law for conveyancing. So far they've been very efficient. I got started with them early in the house selling process and have completed most of the paperwork, reducing the stresses on us. The online system is very impressive. Our appointed conveyancer Tilly White has been prompt and concise communicating which has filled us with confidence.
Kelly at JSLaw has worked on a couple of transactions for us and has been extremely efficient, available, friendly and above all professional. Highly recommended.
Horrendous company to deal with. First time selling a home and was on behalf of my aunt as her power of attorney. Really was a horrible experience. Took ages to pass the ID checks, despite multiple requests I had no help with this from either of my case managers. My case manager changed during the process of which I had no communication about or handover, just had no response to my emails then all of a sudden had a reply off a different case manager. No introductions or apologies offered. Terrible communication throughout the whole process. If i sent an email asking multiple questions and asking for explanations to decipher the legal jargon I didn't understand I would get one sentence replies ignoring half of my email. The buyer nearly pulled out in the end due to the length of the process constantly getting frustrated with a lack of response from JS Law. I sold the house through purple bricks who had to intervene on two occasions pressing JS Law for communication asking what the hold up was and why they were not responding. I will never use this company again and if anyone asks my opinion I will tell them to ensure they use a different company.
We are extremely pleased with the exceptional service provided throughout the completion of our property. From the start of the file handover to the completion. We would particularly like to mention Bisma Jalal for ensuring a smooth and successful completion, and we are truly grateful for her support throughout. We would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone.
Georgia handled my purchase, and was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient with me. Would highly recommend
I recently completed the mortgage process with JS Law, and overall, it was a positive experience using the eWay app to track the progress online. I would like to express my gratitude to my Conveyancer, Sarah Horne, for her professionalism, expertise, and unwavering support throughout the process. She handled challenges that arose with remarkable skill and made the experience much smoother. Based on my experience, I would certainly recommend JS Law to others looking for reliable conveyancing services.
The solicitor Rudy Allen was dealing with the buying and selling of my properties she is absolutely amazing I had no idea what to do and she helped me and explained everything in easy terms and made sure I understand everything I would definitely use them again
Good experience on my first time purchase, Kayla my solicitor was on it and quick with coming back to me.
Very convenient way to submit and review documents required during the process via eWay portal. Irfaan is very helpful during the process
Uzma was brilliant, so helpful, answered all my calls and help me in every process, she made sure that I had time to sell my house and have time to find rented accommodation.
Georgia Wyeth has been a great help, making the purchase of my first home smoothly and at ease. The communication was excellent, all my enquires were dealt with quickly and professionally, it felt like it was no trouble when I rang/emailed. The online tracking portal was fab, very easy to use and upload documents. Very happy with the service & thank you again.
We could not recommend JS Law & Chelsea Murphy enough for an efficient and speedy solicitor service when buying a property. Chelsea kept us in constant contact with all updates on the next steps. As first time buyers it was a pretty daunting process but Chelsea put us at constant ease and helped us navigate the whole process from start to finish. Thank you Chelsea for making our experience as stress free as possible. Thank you.
Viraj was swift, formal, informative, patient and very helpful. Thoroughly recommend.
Kashfa was helpful & understanding.. very professional, made a stressful time more manageable.. excellent job..
The Southend estate agents, Gilbert & Rose, recommended JS Law to me. They had, they said, a ‘special’ relationship that would make my conveyance – the sale and purchase of two properties – so much easier and straightforward. Oh, if only … If Gilbert & Rose and J S Law, do have a 'special relatonship' it's especially bad. I’d sold four houses previously, using a local solicitor, and never really encountered many problems. The selling point of JS Law, unlike the traditional way of doing business, is that all transactions and payments are done via an online portal – their ‘eway’ dashboard – where all the details of the conveyancing are assembled. But you are assigned a ‘handler’, a real, human, solicitor who you can talk to via email, or telephone, if you need to Now, this might seem like a good idea. Well, maybe, if you have the time to spare to learn how the portal works. It can take a while and doesn’t have the most user-friendly design. In addition, every time a transaction takes place, a message pops up on your phone, declaring, somewhat alarmingly, that: ‘YOU HAVE TWELVE TASKS TO ATTEND TO’ which, until you get used to it, prompts you to put down whatever you’re doing to find out what it is that might be so urgent. This is really, really annoying and the last thing you want in the middle of a busy day. While I was willing to give it a go, I’m afraid I just came to hate the online approach. It’s no substitute for a flesh and blood solicitor, who you might be able to actually talk to. Which brings me to what really bugs me about JS Law: the poor standard of service I received when I did want to talk to my assigned solicitor, Jade Moran. Communication was just, simply, poor and that’s a polite way of putting it. Emails went unanswered for days – in one case, a whole week. When they were answered, replies were cursory, brief, badly written, in poor English and unpunctuated. It felt that at least a whole 2 seconds had been spent on the response. And, if I’d raised several points in an email, annoyingly, they weren’t all answered in the reply. Which meant that I had to write yet another email repeating the same points. In the end, if I needed to convey or get information from my buyer or the people I was buying from, I wrote my own emails and asked Jade Moran to forward them to their solicitors. It was the only way I could ensure that my wishes were being carried out as I wanted and in a proper manner. On one occasion, a financial statement, a rather important document, was incorrect. So why didn’t I phone to ask my questions? Well, you can give it a go – after all, JS Law do make a big deal of how easy it is to contact them by phone – but, guess what, in six months of doing business with them, not one call I tried to make actually went through. Their lines are perpetually engaged. Or perpetually ignored. Overall, the impression I had of my solicitor was that she was probably overworked, highly stressed, with a substantial workload of business apart from mine – or just not very interested. During one of her absences, I had the misfortune to talk to one Anthony Smalley, who was taking care of my case. I had a number of urgent questions that I needed answered. Mr Smalley seemed slightly outraged that I had the temerity to ask my questions and seemed incapable, in his reluctant responses, of raising his answers above the monosyllabic. My solicitor was also acting for someone else in my chain, which struck me as rather odd. In the end, JS Law did eventually complete my conveyancing successfully. It’s clear, though, that it’s a purely functional service. If it’s a stress-free, personal experience you’re after, with efficient, full, and helpful attendance on your business, steer well clear. Get yourself a local, friendly solicitor, who is happy to give you their time and provide the personal help and reassurance you need if you’re buying or selling property.
I fail to see how a firm requiring the highest in professional standards cannot manage to refund a retention fee (due for release if not used before mid December 2024) This had been confirmed it would be refunded to me in mid February 2025 and to expect it in 7-10 days. I am still waiting. It is now the end of April and following my endeavours to resolve this quickly, I was told to wait a further 28 days while they investigate. This refund has been costly to my health and well-being and my bank balance, it is totally unacceptable. Prior to this issue I had nothing but praise for a system that gives conveyancing transparency through their portal. This was taken down before I was able to request and anonymous staff phone calls and emails made this even more impossible.
Edit;My nephew is very much a client, and as I mentioned in my review I was writing on behalf of him I wrote a review on here a couple of weeks ago on behalf of my nephew who is purchasing his first home. They have since removed it. DO NOT use JS Law, they never return calls or emails, 6 months down the line, still trying to complete on a simple no chain first time buyer purchase. We send information, they request it multiple times, never look at the info we've sent. As for the fees originally quoted £2200, now in excess of £3600!! How can this be? Following mine & my nephews last review on here, JS Law replied through trust pilot to ask further details & said they would ring to investigate our complaint, that never happened, it's just their automated response! We are now complaining to the ombudsman.
Sri-Devi, was the one who dealt with our papers. She was amazing, very quick and very responsible and detailed. I would hardly recommend. Thank you for your hard work and for chasing and completing the purchase in a record time.
Ruby Allen has been a great help with the purchase of my first home. Ruby was always responsive, and the process has felt very smooth with little stress. Any questions I have had have been addressed quickly, which has kept my mind at ease. The online tracking portal has also been really useful at keeping track of documents and case progress. I'm really happy with the service provided and professionalism. I'd recommend JS Law to anyone.
