One of the worst experiences I had with…

One of the worst experiences I had with this agency. I rented a house from them and verbally agreed and emailed confirming my extension of my stay. But suddenly the agent left the agency and the landlord changed his mind and evicted us by using no fault eviction. Not only that, they rented the place for less than what we were paying. It's a scam to get your deposit money. They charged us £1700 for property damage but the court ruled in our favor and we got our deposit back. Be careful.

Lauren is absolutely fab!!

I had a great experience with Lauren Foster from the John Shepherd team as she helped us with arranging to have a pet in our tenancy. It can be a bit nerve-wracking asking for a pet but from the the first interaction Lauren was friendly, supportive, and helpful in her approach and was just as enthused when our Landlord agreed as we were!! Our emails were responded to quickly and she was able to pass on all information efficiently. An absolute star 🌟 and we hope to have more interactions with her in the future

Stay away from John Shepherd

Centrick used to manage my property, and I never had any issues with them for 7 years. Once John Shepherd Birmingham Branch took over my property, the experience was very different. So, if you are looking around for a letting agent, please refer to all the one-star ratings on Trustpilot. There must be a reason why landlords/tenants are so upset with John Shepherd. If John Shepherd is your current letting agent, I will advise landlords to be more hands-on, even though you are paying a full management service fee for John Shepherd to manage your property. As I used to be very hands-off when Centrick managed my property, I had a very costly lesson when my property was managed by John Shepherd. To be fair, their senior management staff (Chris, Stuart, Julie, Jack) are all very responsive and professional. They gave me their full support during the formal complaint process. I was just very unfortunate to bump into a very absent-minded property manager. Just to name a few - he forgot to deduct the final month's utilities from my last tenant's deposit; forgot to inform Ginger Energy of a new tenancy, and all expenses were charged to me; forgot to sign on a Section 21 notice and when my eviction consultant would like to submit court papers to apply for a possession order, the unsigned Section 21 notice was invalid and the whole process had to re-start again; forgot to inform the Birmingham City Council of a new tenancy and I received a huge bill for council tax. As a landlord who is paying a full management service fee, I don't expect that I have to check the work done by my property manager. Those are just their "bread and butter". Right? I can't imagine so many things can go wrong. So, if you are looking for a letting and management agent, please read all the 1-star ratings on Trustpilot. I think comments on Trustpilot are very reliable. When I was very desperate to look for an eviction company last year to evict my tenant, I read comments on Trustpilot and found a very good eviction company with all 5-star ratings.

Excellent service

We recently sold our home through John Shepherd estate agent Cannock. I was very impressed with the service from start to finish. The team are very professional and the communication all through the process was excellent. I would highly recommend this firm. Thank you

John Shephard Estate Agents Review

Our Lettings Negotiator Destinee Rowe was fantastic to look at the property with. I was left alone to look around the flat we moved into by myself and any questions I had she was able to answer professionally without fail especially about things that could of put me of the flat while viewing it. She helps move the process along quickly which was well needed and always responded to any queries I had quickly and efficiently. She is a credit to John Shepherds reputation.

Thank you Lily at John Shepherd. Given the “virtual “ nature of our relationship, I have to say that I can be nothing other than impressed by her speed to respond to all of my requests promptly and professionally. Oh, and given the amount of questions I asked, her patience was pushed to the limit. But, you wouldn’t have known it. Moved into the flat on Saturday. Lily and the teams post move follow up etc all very welcome. Great customer service all round.

Superstar Megan!

I was looking to move within Birmingham city centre and had responded to an ad online for a flat that was being advertised by John Shepherd. Megan responded to me and quickly arranged a viewing. It was completely covid-secure and she was so helpful in understanding what I wanted. When I didn't go for the initial flat, she sent me lots of other options with my desired features. I narrowed those down and viewed my dream flat! Megan responded so quickly to all of my queries and just two weeks after viewing I had already moved in! There were a few minor maintenance issues on move-in but these were dealt with so quickly and I was kept in the loop every step of the way (shout out Kai!) I really couldn't recommend Megan and her team at John Shepherd enough. They are professional, friendly and deliver a service that is lacking in many other agencies. I would really recommend using John Shepherd if you are looking for a property in Birmingham.

John Shepherd Cannock selling review

Having made arrangements for Adrian at John Shepherd to come out and value my property, he did so in the most professional manner. Each room was observed and the advice given was brilliant. The house went up for sale and he was there every step of the way, nothing was too much trouble and every question asked was professionally answered in detail. He was there from beginning to end and was always on the other end of the phone when I had a question or query. A professional throughout the sale and a credit to the company. I would definitely recommend John Shepherd (Cannock) to anyone who is thinking of moving as their service is impeccable. Thanks Adrian!

John Shepherd estate agents were…

John Shepherd estate agents were helpful under the current circumstances especially, they explained everything thoroughly and were very informative about the processes and what was required of us. Jack Richardson was the agent dealing with our property and acted in a very professional and friendly manner. Overall a comfortable experience with john Shepherd. My only one criticism is we could have been provided with more information on the property itself, such as utility providers and which broadband providers are compatible in the area. This wasnt provided on the date of the move and made setting up accounts to the providers more difficult.

Highly recommend Jack

We found Jack to be a very honest agent during the time he was working with us on a potential house purchase. We didn’t end up buying the house but he wasn’t pushy with the sale or feed us the usual ‘waffle’ that some agents do. He did all he could to overcome the objections that we had on the property and would highly recommend him when buying or selling a house.
