Reviews for IXL Learning overwhelmingly reflect dissatisfaction, with a staggering 81% of consumers rating it poorly. Many reviewers express frustration with the program's scoring system, which they describe as discouraging and damaging to children's self-esteem. Comments like "this program is like making me very dumb" and "it crushes a child's love of learning" highlight the negative impact on students' motivation. While a small percentage of users appreciate the program, citing positive experiences and effective learning in subjects like ELA, these voices are drowned out by the chorus of complaints about the app's inaccuracies and the emotional distress it causes. Overall, the sentiment is predominantly negative, with many calling IXL a waste of money and urging others to avoid it.

I enjoyed my experience with IXL. It helped with tutoring English.
I have been using IXL for a couple of years with my students and I love it! One thing, I recommend is do not place students to do IXL and learn on their own. I use IXL explicitly after a lesson. To me, the only time a child should be working on IXL on their own would be to review a topic from a lower grade. They can review: shapes, multiplication, area etc. If they struggle, please teach it to them first before they get back on it. Also, guide the child by telling them which ixl assignments you want them to complete. It is too overwhelming for a child to sit there and not know where to begin. Lastly, yes the problems do get more difficult as they are getting closer to 100% so to avoid frustration have your child only reach up to 75% or 80%. I hope this helps. I am a math teacher with 18 years of experience.
This website is amazing if you want your children to suffer severely. If you love your children you wouldn't make them use this website. its poop. So please help all humanity and save us from this curse by not making your kids use this horrible website. I cried so hard I was at 99% and I FREAKIN PRESSED THE WRONG BUTTON. #POOOSTINKPIECEOFPOOOOP #saveusfromthecurse #banixl
With my experience using Ixl I would advise everyone reading this to use another application e.g. Khan academy, My complaints are raises stress in children's feeble minds, to harsh gender , related questions , Bad explanations customer service is against you if you don't have yearly subscription. I hope ixl is looking at this right now I hope you are happy with your disgraceful actions and I hope you go out of business and lose all of your dirty made money.
Ixl is the worst learning app id jump of a cliff in a heart beat than ixl

Absolutely rubbish. Do not waste your money/time on this. I got a question wrong and moved from 98 to 92 (there have been worse instances, such as when I got a question wrong and moved about 15 points backward), yet when I get one RIGHT I move 1-3 point forward. It makes students feel demoralized and does not help with their math/English skills. Awful experience and all it does it make me hate maths more. Unfortunately, I have to use it for school - but if you're a teacher or a parent, don't bother buying it.
Can't believe all the trash people are writing regarding IXL. With IXL, he has achieved what he hadn't in school since 2016. With every wrong answer, IXL recognises the child's weakness and then gives them questions to address that weakness and then moves on. Don't listen to the utter rubbish here and give it a try. If it were a free app, I'm certain it would be at 5 stars but because it costs (as much as a one person meal from McDonald's which people don't mind spending), people are being negative.
its is very trash ixl have a mental problem making this
Bruh this sucks. A lot. That's all I'm gonna say.
its trash if you do one question wrong it makes you do another 100
I have purchased 2 moths ago for 8 years old and 6 years old its ok at some points. but no explanation about teaching you properly. Its just the question and questions I paid £120 for a year. I am really disappointed. I am home schooling my children. My children finds it boring. I have also signed them up with Reading Eggs which they find it fun learning but the best one is( Twinkl )which is used for mainly by teachers which is the best.
I am 9 and i hate ixl it is BS it takes to much points i think it is a glich and it is out of date and it does not give anoff points and thats why i hate ixl
Without a doubt the best online learning platform for school age Maths and English! So comprehensive, incredibly detailed results based progression and such good value for money. However, the kick back or reduction in points for wrong answers is too harsh and quite counter productive.
This website is very mixed in my eyes, my teachers have started assigning assignments on IXL since lockdown and so far it has not been the greatest. There are many lessons that are easy to do and reward you correctly but many that are not. For example, a question that might take you 10 minutes if you even get it correct then you'll be awarded 4 points on average (1 if your in the 90's range ) Mean you have to spend hours on certain lessons to get at least an 80, again some are like this but others are not. Besides that this is a good learning tool that can be and will be harsh on its students' which is bad and good. I would not use this if I was a teacher but guess what I'm not, so this is a solid 3/5 nothing more or less .
It teaches kids to work hard. holding in frustration
Love it so much👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤝👏🏻
Be careful where you purchase this product as price variation is huge. And also the moment you stop paying the full price from the web. Customer service becomes non existence. They start lying about what they can do for you when you have issues with your account. I wanted to merge accounts as We bought multiple accounts and this Victoria customer service rep bluntly refused as my account was the group buy account. However others paying the full yearly version was able to merge accounts. When you buy the yearly subscriptions, they don’t let you transfer the subscriptions, even when you have 2 accounts for the same child. Note: they only do that when you find out about the cheaper $20 yearly class subscription and you stop paying the $150 a year. The customer service turns on you and doesn’t help you with anything.
I hate it. I never get that last question right and have to start allllll overrrrr againnnn.
