It took Irwin Mitchell *12 years to complete my CICA claim. They frequently passed me between solicitors and they used terms like "mental retardation". Working with them was very traumatic. Examples of their bad practice: - an 18 month delay in them arranging the 'appointed deputy' meeting - a 4 month delay for the post settlement meeting which they cancelled 2 hours before the meeting because they weren't prepared in time "the deputy had queried some financial figures..." - misinformation regarding interim payments - frequent delays and long waiting times - I made my access needs very clear, they often paid no attention - If I was delayed in communications they didn't call me/ prompt me (as I had asked them to in my access rider). Their behaviour and their actions have had a negative impact on my quality of life - their inappropriate, uninformed behaviour has been traumatic and made building new pathways complicated and humiliating. With regards to access and inclusivity their behaviour is archaic, I am going through the relevant complaints procedures. I am writing this with the hope that it will save somebody else from going through what they put me through. *The date above is todays date because I am filing a complaint - it is still having an impact on my day to day life.

I contacted Irwin Mitchell just under 3 years ago with regards to a medical negligence claim. Right from the initial phone call to the company, everyone I spoke to were compassionate and empathetic about my case. Jen kept me fully informed, every step of the way either by phone call, email or even a home visit (for a cup of tea). Jen made the complex simple and ensured my understanding at all times. Positive experience working with Tim Annett after working with another colleague of his before Tim. It took many years for the Hospital to admit liability which was settled out of court. Tim and his team put a lot of hard work and effort into the case. The experts who were involved in a case did a fantastic job and I cannot fault them. The independent surgeon was phenomenal and understood everything. Irwin Mitchell did everything on a no-win no fee basis which was a great help. I recommend anybody to contact Irwin Mitchell solicitors, no matter how big or how small you feel the matter is regarding Medical negligence, etc. They will guide you and help you in the right way. I’m happy now that the case has been resolved, However, I’m finding it very difficult now to find a surgeon to put things right that the other surgeon did wrong. Therefore, I can’t live my life as I would like to and I’m in hospital bed at home. You go into hospital to get better not to get worse. Unfortunately, the surgeon who operated on me was not Experienced only qualified. He did operations that should never have taken place therefore made me worse. Tim Annett it did everything possible to hold the Hospital accountable. Although it all started in 2017, it was finalised in 2024. However, my case finally got closed today, hence why I put today’s date of experience. Thank you, Tim and your team for everything you’ve done for me.
