Disappointing and questionable hotel cancellation Incredibly disappointed. I booked an extra night at the hotel the tour starts at. This was booked in August for an end of December tour. Payment was made. Two weeks out, Intrepid now tells me there is no room. I paid, they sat on my money and they now advise 2 weeks out from Christmas. Further to the response below...No emergency. Intrepid did not even try to relocate. Time to really review your customer service rather than responding in a way that focuses on improving your reputation rather than what was done which was wrong in every way.

I just completed my first trip with intrepid! I did the China Highlights, and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was seamless for me, I arranged airport transfers both before the trip and at the end, I also arranged for an extra night stays, and everything was smooth. The trip itself was exactly as I expected, the hotels were as described, we were told beforehand that the guesthouse we stayed at for one night was very “basic”, but it was just fine, no complaints from anyone on the team. Our team leader Long, was amazing, he exceeded my expectations as a team leader. He was kind, patient and very calm, which I believe this made the trip as easy as it was! Having such a great team leader really helped set the tone for the group! The entire group got along easily, great conversations and we really had a wonderful time! I loved my entire experience with intrepid, and I will be a return customer!!

The tour was organized perfectly, very diverse and a good mix of culture, city, background information and also time for yourself. Benji as a guide was just great! He explained so much background information and brought Japan closer to the group.

Intrepid northbound tour was varied, interesting, action packed and had a lot of variety. You are on the go most of the time but you do have adequate rest periods and group dinners are always optional. Tour Guide, Tan was an absolute standout ! He had near perfect English, his laughter and has astute local knowledge

Company makes up what deposits they chose as and when they see fit Some trips have deposits of £1 others £50 I asked for a £1 deposit This company would rather a customer go elsewhere than pay a £1 deposit Its a shame as this dithering is stopping me from making use of there Black Friday sales

Intrepid need to lift their game on this trip, many details were lost in translation resulting in confusion. Meals were often at roadside fuel station buffets or restaurants chosen by tour guide, being both expensive and not authentic. Most accommodation was pretty good, hot water & clean sheets. Extremely happy to have paid for a single supplement, even though I was travelling with friends who also ending up opting for a single supplement on route. Some rooms are very small. Lots of long travel days, plenty of walking and steps, breathtaking views, experiences, many laughs and fun conversations. Gallipoli is a confronting and emotional experience and as an Australian, one I will never forget, Thank you Intrepid. The ancient city of Ephesus is fascinating however I would have preferred more time to explore the local town of Sirince. Intrepid had not updated the itinerary for Kayakoy, our half day trek was cancelled due to bushfires [Government regulations, fair enough] however no other activities had been suggested. We spent the morning at Fethiye beach, which was great & scammed 400 lira per person per chair. If we had been informed, we could have booked a pirate boat and gone boating and snorkeling for the day or paragliding. MASSIVE, missed opportunity!!! The next day we were taken to a textile factory!! The group actually voted out the pottery & carpet making demonstrations NOT ON THE Itinerary. I don't think there is any need to go to Konya. Cappadocia hot air balloon was mind blowing & so worthwhile, a lifetime opportunity, we were super lucky with the weather. However, our time here was mismanaged. Hopefully Intrepid will streamline the itinerary. Eskisehir is a vibrant, fun, city and I would have liked more time here. It was Turkish Independence Day and the vibe was great. On our return to Istanbul we had agreed to do a walking tour to Grand Bazaar and spice market, which was cancelled by our tour guide last minute. Overall, an amazing experience and one I will never forget. Thank you to the beautiful ladies who made this trip memorable.

I have been travelling with Intrepid for 10 years and have always been extremely satisfied. Last trips went to Java & Bali and then another trip to East Timor. Group leaders are very good, some better than others. Hotels are always at least as expected (depending on travel style, Basic, Original, Comfort) Strongly recommend

My wife and I recently enjoyed a fifteen day tour of Turkey with Intrepid. It was exceptionally well organized and our tour guide, Ilter, was simply fantastic, at both a personal and a professional level. There was just enough looseness in the schedule to allow for a bit of exploration on our own, and the size of the group was just right. The accommodations varied in quality but we were always comfortable. The food was splendid!

I just got back from the Intrepid tour Cafe Colombia. It was an incredible tour with great standards of accommodation and an excellent tour leader Santiago Vargas. The tour was really well organised and food and coffee was amazing. I highly recommend this beautiful country and touring it with Intrepid.

Our tour of Morocco was fabulous. Everything was so well organised and we had experiences I don't think we would have been able to organise ourselves.

Exceptional guides / driver and awesome curated content. Tour was a brilliant taste of an amazing country with rich experiences and wonderful people.

Had one of the best guided tours I have ever been on. Loved almost every minute of it. The country and the people are so amazing - from lunch with a Nomad family to the latest in film CGI and AI - this country has it all. But the right tour guide makes all the difference and we certainly hit the jackpot with ours

My highlights of Japan trip was fast paced and covered a lot of ground but provided a good idea of the diverse culture and main cities in Japan. The people in the group were good fun to travel with and our tour leader was knowledgeable and helpful.

Thoroughly enjoyed my intrepid 10 day tour in Nepal. Our guide was incredible and we had such an amazing time. Some of our itinerary had to change due to a flood but we were told in advance and everything was just as good. 10/10 recommend.

Always wanted to go/heard great things. Per usual Intrepid was well organized, lovely group of people and a phenomenal tour guide and local guide in Malta. First day definitely a little long and would recommend to break up 3 cities and Valetta into 2 separate afternoons or mornings. Was concerned there might not be enough to do in Gozo but there was and it's charming! Weather perfect late Sept.

My South Korean tour with Intrepid has left me hungry for more. Everyday was full of little unexpected treasures. Our tour guide Peter's attention to detail, his extensive local knowledge and warm, protective care gave me a sense of security to comfortably explore this magical land. He even indulged my k-pop fascination. The tour was varied and interesting. Incredible food, culture and scenery. I will remember this tour forever. Thank you Peter and Intrepid Travel.

We love small group travel, and Intrepid do it very well - we have used them many times. On this trip through several Balkan countries there were lots of special food and drink experiences included, as well as the main cultural highlights. Our leader Jane was extremely knowledgeable.

We travelled 8 days in Morrocco with Mahdi as our guide. We loved the trip and found Mahdi and the other local guides very informative and friendly. The accommodation was great and transport well organised. I note other reviews point out the tour is advertised as 8 days but first and last days are not actual activities, only arriving and checking out. However, we felt safe and had a heap of fun and learnt about another culture.

My wife and I did the Croatia Islands bike tour. Our guide around and our support driver were the best. We were very pleased with the accomodations. The scheduled meals were very good. Unexpected situations that arose were handled. We also lucked out that we had a great group of fellow travellers.
