If I could give zero stars, I would.
I have been a Heart Internet customer for over a decade, hosting multiple sites with them in that time, with no issues. In the last 12 months I have no idea what has happened to this company.
Long story short, they ‘encouraged’ me to move my site(s) over to a new hosting package that was supposedly ‘better’. Reluctantly, I eventually did so and encountered several issues with this ‘improved’ hosting. After several days of issues I requested my site be moved back to the original hosting, which they did. My website was obviously down for sometime during this process, but at least I got things back to how they were.
Fast forward several weeks… after having no emails come through my site for a couple of weeks which seemed weird, I went to check my website only to find my website was no longer there. I still have no idea what happened as they won’t give me a straight answer, but essentially Heart Internet somehow managed to move/delete my website from the original hosting. I’m a self employed, full time artists, and the financial and repetitional damage this did to me and business - having my website deleted for anywhere between 1-2 weeks cannot be measured. I have then spent the last 5 days going round the houses on ‘support’ chats with various members of their team to try and get my site recovered and working how it was. As I sit here now, I estimate I have spent approximately 20 - 22 hours of my working week trying to get to the bottom of their c*ck up, and my website is still not working as the contact form (which worked fine previously) still doesn’t actually allow the contact form emails/requests to reach me.
As compensation for all of this they have offered me a partial refund of half of my annual hosting fee - which equates to around £35. This is an absolute insult and clearly shows that Heart Internet have no grasp of the financial gravity of their incompetence.
I am now actively looking to move all my products over to an alternative company that can be trusted to do the basic things you would expect from a hosting company - to host my website without randomly deleting it and then not be able to restore in a working manner. I am also seeking legal advice for the financial and repetitional damage they have done to me and my business, plus compensation for the time I have had to give up to (unsuccessfully) get my website back up and running.
