    Disappointing Service

    Purchased a Roofbox April 2025, fitted on car with no issues. 3 months later I noticed a crack in one of the sears, bearing in mind the box has been on the car the whole time. Message customer service, they say to go into store. Go into store, they tell me to go back to customer service. Go back to customer service and they tell me to go back into store again. Back into store again and they say there’s nothing they can do, I must have damaged it. I now find myself spending another £500 to replace a £400 Roofbox that’s only 3 months old with zero assistance. Shame because I’ve used Halfords for years but seems to have gone downhill recently.

    Poor advice and service

    I hve got to say i am extremely disappointed with the service at Halfords in Bilston. I went for a regular check on my Carrera Vengance at the end of May i was advised that the chain and cassette would require to be changed 1-2 months. Having been advised this i later returned to the store to purchase a new chain and caseette (i made this purchase having been advised of the particular items to order by an employee) i then went to a second retailer to get the work done as they had quoted £30 as opposed to Halfords £95 gold service charge. When the work was about to commence i was advised by the technician that Halfords had sold me an incorrect part and it would not fit my bike, this incurred a further cost of £25 i was also told that the work was not as immediately needed as Halfords had claimed. I returned to Bilston Halfords this afternoon to attempt to get a refund and despite relaying the issue i had i was told several times that the time of a cash refund had elapsed and was just offered a gift card. I believe this is extremely poor service as i had taken Halfords advice in good faith!!

    Really poor experience

    Bought a bike online and paid for it to be built. Discovered when it arrived it had not been built correctly and was broken and couldn't be ridden. I called the customer service team who said someone would call me the next morning. They did not. I called them again. They said the first person was wrong and they would call me within 72 hours. Really vague on when they would replace the bike or refund. Really, really irritating - surely if you offer a bike building service you hire competent people to build it, and if you mess it up you deal with it quickly and either refund or replace quickly not next week. I will never buy from them again, such poor customer service.

    I ordered and PAID two bikes 20 days…

    I ordered and PAID two bikes 20 days ago (15.06.25), with an appointment collection the following week (25.06.25), as we were away, and we gave them an extra time to built the bike, on the collection day (25.06.25), I had a phone call, saying the the bike was delay, and we should go on Friday (27.06.25) instead of Wednesday, I asked if that would be sure, as we had a bike plan away, and I needed to know if we could continue with the plan, or we should cancel, they told me everything would be OK, and they would send me an email with the collection time for Friday, I was waiting all Friday for this phone call, It didn't happened, so I went to the store to ask a member of the staff, what was going on, for my surprised, the bike stand, was closed, and we were attended by another staff member, we explain our situation, he took my tlf number to phone me straight once they located the bikes. I recall the urgency of my weekend, and his answer was: no worries, the latest will be tomorrow morning (Saturday), as we have to assemble the bikes, but you could go away. This Saturday nothing happened, I had to cancel my weekend away, I had to pay the full weekend as I didn't cancel my accommodation and the activities on time, (over £600.00) as nobody gave me an answer, I tried and tried the customer services, and still today (03.07.25) nobody has been in contact with me to give me a solution after open a complaint, and still today, I haven't got any idea about where are my bikes, but the funniest thing, is that the shop staff, haven't got any idea about what's going on.

    I Went To Halfords Aberdeen Kittybrewster Store On Monday The 1st Of July 2025 With My Road Bike To See About Getting An Extension Bar To Lift My Handlebars Up The Chap I Got Said Nope Don't Have Didn't Even Check The Store Or Go Through The Back To Check Didn't Even Check On The Computer Told Me To Go On To Amazon And Fit It Myself So I Replied What Size He Said Google It I Wasn't Impressed With That. So I Proceeded And Asked Him Could You Put New Slime Tubes In Both Front And Rear Tyres As I Stay Out In The Country He Replied Yes £9 Each And £10 Each To Fit So Just Shy Of £40 Which I Was Happy With So The Chap Proceeded Took My Front Wheel Off Bike Within A Couple Mins He Struggled To Get My Tyre Off The Wheel Stood And Looked At Bike And Replied To Me I Don't Have Time For This And Told Me To Pop Back One Afternoon During The Week So I Said You Are Refusing A £40 Sale He Replied Yes I Am. When I Got Home I Decided To Phone Halfords Head Office As I Was Not Impressed With Chap In The Aberdeen Store, Head Office Apologised But I Said You Dont Need Head Office Were Great To Chat With They Even Said I Could Book An Alternative Appointment With Someone Else But I Opted To Go To A Different Shop I Will Use Halfords Again But Different Store I Think. Incase Anyone In My Area Was Taking A Bike To Halfords Aberdeen Kittybrewster Upstairs Avoid Going In The Morning I Went On The 01/07/2025 Between 10am And 10.20am

    I took a car for full service in Harlow…

    I took a car for full service in Harlow on 01/06/2025 cost me almost £600 but 1 month later (03/07/2025) the dashboard light showed “Service” it’s make me wonder they did proper Job or not? Or if they been cheating And I’m in worrying and will contact them.

    Halfords Closure.

    Following up on my previous review of this useless company in 2014, when I said I would never use this company again, it would appear that my experience has been reciprocated by a great many others. So many, in fact, that I am delighted to note that the entire operation has closed down in my area (Airdrie). They couldn’t even get a painter to carry out a proper job of painting over the Halfords sign properly. This is an absolute mess and unfortunately reflects badly once again on the management of this woeful company. In a world currently full of bad news, it’s so good to hear some good news for a change, that Halfords are failing rapidly and will soon be gone forever.

    Terrible Online Experience – Avoid Ordering from Halfords

    I ordered wiper blades online and everything seemed fine at first – got my tracking number and was told the delivery would take 2 working days. A week passed with no delivery, so I contacted the support team. They told me to wait another 48 hours. In the meantime, I also contacted DHL, who were supposed to deliver the item. DHL told me they hadn’t even received the package from Halfords yet. After 48 hours with no update, I contacted Halfords again. They said my case was now a “priority” and asked me to wait another 24 hours. This same cycle kept repeating — every time I followed up, they told me to wait 24 more hours because my case was “priority.” It’s now been two weeks. I asked for a refund, and they refused, saying I still need to wait. Meanwhile, DHL has confirmed multiple times that they never received the package from Halfords. Bottom line: Horrible service, no communication, no accountability, and no refund. Don’t waste your time or money – do not order online from Halfords.

    Fantastic customer service from Chris…

    Fantastic customer service from Chris at the Weedon Road branch. Chris was polite, friendly and efficient whilst doing a 10 point car check on my VW Golf today. His easy manner and courteous replies when answering my questions about my car made me feel reassured. Chris is a great ambassador for excellent customer service.l. Which, I hope will be recognised in some way by the Management team at Halfords. Many thanks Chris.

    I booked and paid for an aircon service…

    I booked and paid for an aircon service on the Halfords website, providing all my car details upfront. I dropped off my car at their Swinton centre, but after two hours, they told me they didn’t have the right tools to service my car. They refunded the £123 I paid—but only onto a gift card, which is useless to me because there’s no Halfords nearby to use it for my service. I’ve sent numerous emails to resolve this, but all I get are the same unhelpful responses, and my money is still not properly refunded. This has been a frustrating experience. People, beware before booking with Halfords!

    Payment issues,

    I order a Dashcam and sd card on a click and collect order. Payment went through to my credit card albeit it is shown as pending, but no confirmation of sale or order. Contacted customer service, spoke to someone at a call centre, suspect not in the UK, will get back to me within 72 hrs, meanwhile I cannot fit the camera and now have to wait! 😡😡. I should have gone to Argos!!!

    To the Colleagues of the Ballymena Store, Guy with A5 Audi To the Colleagues of the Ballymena Store, (Taylor & Pearse) for not only advising me on bulbs that i need on my car, they also fitted bulbs for me, that i needed but also fixed the other bulbs within the same area as they were not fitted or working properly. They both showed exceptional customer service, were very polite, helpful and service with a smile and great manners. I will definitely be back due to them both.

    The one star is too good for them. The service in Carlow is absolutely rubbish and the after sale service is nonexistent. I’ll never ever go there again.

    I visited Llantrisant store

    I visited Llantrisant store. A Young man called Luke was so helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my back light/indicator. It was full of water and thought I needed a new LED light. However, He took out the unit, drained the water and the unit worked perfectly. Previous, to this, I had a quote from a local garage and they told me I needed a new unit costing £538+VAT, so as you can imagine Luke made my day. Luke went beyond what any garage would have done! Great young man! Thank you.

    Called customer service to check if item was available before travelling to store. Difficult to understand member of staff but told me yes. When I got to the store it was not there, it was actually a discontinued product

    Fine untill you need customer service help

    I've been given a gift card for fathers day so try using it online and not accepting it so my son got it replaced instore and new one doesn't work either . Contacted web chat numerous times and just keep getting the same answers despite following the instructions given so no help there, they then escalated it to a specialist team a week ago and told I would be contacted within 48 hours that was a week ago . Contacted them over the weekend to be told its been escalated even further . Still not heard anything . I dont get chance to visit the store due to my working hours so using online is ideal . Can't fault Halfords tools but there customer service is one of the worst out there . Makes you not want to use them again and to be honest I will be looking for alternatives in the future

    Bought 2 tyres on halfords website and booked to have them fitted at there garage Aylestone Road Leicester was met in the car park by 1 of the team steve who was very friendly and directed me to a parking space.The fitting process all went very smooth and was all done in a very professional way would definitely recommend
