Not enough vegetables
The delivery is all over I never know when I will get it. The recipes are easy to follow and usually turn out good. We have liked everything. Often we have missing items usually not a big issue. I would rather have wild caught fish not farm raised.
Most recipes are tasty, a couple have been just ok. Mostly happy with the meals, especially the ease of them.
I’ve been with Green Chef for a couple of months now, and we are overall quite satisfied. Recently a box got delayed by the delivery provider and the produce came spoiled. As soon as I reported that to Green Chef, they immediately refunded the cost of that delivery. Their customer service was prompt and courteous.
I like the clarity and organization of the recipe cards. Having fresh vegetables in every meal is a real advantage. However there way too many recipes using kale. Our family does not care for kale and we immediately eliminate all recipes using kale. On occasion the vegetables freeze route because there is no cardboard protecting the vegetables in bags. When this occurs these vegetables such as peppers, zucchini etc. are absolute mush when they arrive. This necessitates go to the grocery store to buy vegetables and makes the meal very costly.
I have had a few missing items on orders. It is frustrating to have to call and even more that I don't have the ingredient needed.
The food is always delicious, and the recipes are so simple! Nutrition is also very important to me, as I am trying to regain strength and health after a battle with cancer. Green Chef makes it easier for me to reach my health goals.
DO NOT USE THIS MEAL PLAN!! I was gifted a box of 3 meals for 2 people. After chatting with a bot online. I thought everything was correctly ordered. The person canceled my order and membership without my knowledge. So I reordered another kit. I spoke with 4 different people on the phone and 3 people online to confirm this order. I have been waiting for the order to be delivered today. It said it was delivered. They changed my for the order. But no order was delivered. I then called again and spoke to 2 other people who said my order was canceled. These people need to be fired as they do not know what they are doing. I was looking forward to the meals and cooking today. And now have NO FOOD to eat!! Terrible business practice and way over priced food!!! I am NOT happy.
No box delivered. No notification until I contacted 24 hours after box was scheduled, then told box was damaged and discarded leaving me to scramble to plan and purchase meals for the week.
I really like the recipes and feel that they are helping me lose weight, feel better and teach my brother/roommate how to cook. I don’t find the app easy to use, so just settle for whatever they send me. If I could change 1 thing about the kits it would be to ban canola, sunflower and any other oil that is highly processed and sprayed with herbicide Roundup just before harvest because it gives me a bad reaction. While I COULD substitute olive or coconut oil from my cupboard, it is tricky when it is part of a sauce.
Recipes are flavorful. Ingredients are simple and fresh. I would prefer all meat be organic and not have to pay up to $12 additional per serving for that option. Only missed my delivery on 2 occasions. I've been a customer on and off for over 6 years.
I cancelled my subscription since 10/7 after requesting no shipments until 10/25. I’ve received 2 shipments since that time. Food is great. Communication and correspondence outside of marketing? Far less so
Items are missing from box
Recipes are good. I had a couple of weeks where I didn’t get all the ingredients listed. That wasn’t fun.
I love how creative and delicious the recipes are especially the veggies. I’ve tried several different food deliveries companies. The reason I stay with Green Chef because the veggies recipes are tasty. Sometimes the quality of the produce is awful. This weeks recipe came with tomatoes and they were not even red and several were cracked open so I had to throw them out.
Very helpful. Went above and beyond.
The food tastes amazing, and the recipes are well-thought-out and creative. However, I routinely receive water-logged or rotten vegetables. Lastly, if I select a meal that includes pork, I often do not receive the pork but get chicken as a replacement, even though I never indicated a swap.

My Green Chef boxes are very yummy and nutritious.
I felt like I didn’t really need to go out to eat anymore because there was better food at home eating from the Green Chef menu.
