This is possibly the worst service…

This is possibly the worst service I’ve ever received from any company. On a trip to Italy our car broke down 3 hours after pick up on a journey from Milan to Lake Garda. These things happen. The car was recovered but could not be prepared. The company would only provide a replacement if we made it back to the airport (almost 3 hours away) to pick one up. They wouldn’t provide a car locally and wouldn’t pay for the journey back. We were stranded and had to rely on public transport for the rest of the trip. Before this point we were told repeatedly that they would find a replacement and call us back. They never did and we were on the phone for hours trying to get through. They have also refused to offer us a refund for the remaining rental because they will only do this in person! This is surely a scam.

Goldcar's hidden IDP condition cost me money and time. Do not use if you are from the UK

I booked a car for Sardinia with Goldcar via Holiday Autos. I booked a few weeks ahead, but when I arrived in Sardinia GoldCar told me I had to have an International Driver's Permit as UK is outside the EU. THIS IS NOT THE LAW; gov.uk says IDPs are not required in Europe as part of Brexit agreement. Holiday Autos did not know this- with their T&Cs clearly stating an IDP was not required. They offered me a refund or to rebook with another company at current rates, which would have cost an additional ~£270 for the week. I rebooked to Noleggiare via Discover Cars for cheaper, but Goldcar's unpublished conditions and Holiday Autos' mistake still cost me a further £180 and time needed to rebook. DO NOT USE GOLDCAR IF YOU ARE FROM THE UK, there are plenty of affordable other providers who don't make up unnecessary and costly conditions.

DES VOLEURS !!!!!

DES VOLEURS !!!!! Location d'une renault capture quasi neuve 2500km (aeroport de faro au portugal) A la remise des clefs l'agent fait à peine le tour du véhicule. Je constate avec lui que la voiture n'a pas de griffe particulière. Au retour pas de vérification puisque nous rendons la voiture à 4h du matin et que l'agence est encore fermé (nous déposons les clefs comme convenue dans une boîte aux lettres. 2h plus tard je reçois un mail avec une photo avec un coup insignifiant que je n'ai pas vu à la remise des clefs dans un recoin du pzre choque arrière. Je suis évidemment sur et certain que j'ai eu le véhicule comme cela. Trop tard je me suis fais arnaqué d'une partie de ma caution sans avoir un mot à dire !!!! je précise que je loue chaque année un véhicule en vacances, c'est la première fois que je me fais avoir comme un bleu !!!!

Si on pouvait mettre 0 étoile, je le ferai ! 2h30 de retard sur la prise en charge du véhicule, aucun employé disponible pour nous accompagner vérifier l'état du véhicule avant la prise en charge et jante de la voiture endommagée à notre arrivée. L'entreprise nie en bloc que le dégât constaté à notre retour était présent au départ en justifiant qu'aucun employé n'a constaté le dégât de lui-même, alors que nous avons une photo ainsi qu'une vidéo de l'état de la voiture quand nous l'avons récupéré avec le dégât visible. Nous avons fourni toutes les preuves nécessaires avec les dates/heures comme ils l'ont demandé pour nous rendre la caution, mais ils n'en tiennent pas compte et retiennent notre argent. Agence de très mauvaise foi, nous n'allons pas en rester là et payer 175 € pour un dégât que nous n'avons pas commis. Nous avons contacté une association de protection des consommateurs et monté un dossier. Nous engagerons toutes les procédures nécessaires à notre disposition et demanderons des dommages et intérêts à l'encontre de Goldcar en plus du remboursement total de la caution !

Nothing less than 10 stars. We came to Goldcar at Aktion Airport (Preveza), there were two nice young men who welcomed us and in a short time all the papers were ready so we could go on holiday. The price was a third of other rentals. We had a problem after three days, the car wouldn't start, but in a very short time we had a replacement car and then we feared our deposit... The car was handed over without fuss and everything went as quickly and smoothly as possible. Now we have also received our entire deposit back. 1000 thanks GOLDcar

Goldcar scam / Fraudulenat behaiviour

Fraudulent company! Beware fraud and scams in this company! Found planted damage on my bumper, very small and in difficult to find place, that could not have happened by normal driving or in parking lot. Charged me 110 EUR! Then returned my deposit with minus 280 EUR! No reply to emails regarding the overcharge. I have to get my credit card company involved!

Scammed..!

Scammed..! by Majorca palma Airport gold car rental. I've been renting cars for years and have never been scammed in this way, I had to pay extra insurance although I had already purchased insurance online. I ended up paying double the original price.😡 Also the car was full of dust on the dashboard and in the vents and the seat had sweat marks on it. Admittedly the staff were nice. But I would never use or recommend gold car to anybody , not even my worst enemy.

Held ransom for 225 euros!

Charged 225 euros for a flat tyre. Despite the fact that the tyre was old, wore and not roadworthy. I have photos to prove it. There was 70,000+ kms on the odometer. No surprise the tyres are worn is it. Particularly on the rough Greek roads. So they blamed me for the flat tyre, then insisted on charging me 225 euros for a tyre that only costs 60 euros new. They said it was because the car would be out of service, even thought I returned the car 24 hrs early on my 3wk rental. I was essentially held ransom. The Goldcar depot is over 8kms from the airport in the middle of nowhere. They ignored anything I said, so the only way I was getting to the airport in time for my flight was to pay up. Even though I arrived at the depot just after 8am when they opened. There were 4 employees. I was the only customer they served the entire time I was at the depot. I did not leave the depot until after 8.30am. I cannot say anything good about this experience. I will never rent from Goldcar ever again, nor Europcar who owns Goldcar.

Odieux personnage au comptoir

Odieux personnage au comptoir, refus de nous louer la voiture réservée sur do you spain car le permis de conduire est plastifié ! Un policier espagnol nous confirme que le permis est tout à fait valable, nous n'avons eu aucun problème pour louer une voiture chez un concurrent. Ce sont des voleurs !

Had booked a car at goldcar in Bologna airport had prepaid the booking When i was gonna Pick Up the var there card terminal didnt work and i couldt not get my car. Very rude and negative women couldt do nothing and i lost my Money Went to Hertz no problem Got a var right away with the same card

Mi hanno lasciato a piedi

Ho prenotato una macchina settimana scorsa, in aeroporto a Bergamo non mi hanno accettato il passaporto come documento di identità e non mi hanno dato la macchina, quindi sono appiedato in aeroporto. Secondo loro il passaporto non è un documento d'identità valido, incredibile.

Je donnerais volontiers 0. Déjà reçu à l'aéroport de Rome par une femme peu aimable. Si vous n'avez pas de permis de conduire au forma de carte de crédit, ils refusent de vous donner la voiture en se substituant à des lois françaises et européennes. Pourtant le permis de conduire français à 3 volets est valable jusqu'au 19/01/2033. Et DISCOVERCARS les couvre bien en nous refusant le remboursement. Nous avons pu louer auprès d'un autre loueur sans aucune remarque sur le permis de conduire français.

Rented from Bologna Airport

Rented from Bologna Airport - July 2024 Fiat 500L for 3 passengers, light luggage, with over 100,000km on the speedometer. Car rattled frequently needing regular gear shift changes. Windshield wipers needed to be changed. The air-conditioning slowed down the car and was never cool enough. We called to ask for assistance about the credit card used. Were told to expect a reply within 14 days. Total distance covered - 700km. Was not a pleasant drive at all. Unfortunately the worse car rental experience of my life.
