A problem I had with my savings account was quickly sorted out when I phoned FD. Always find my payments are quick and easy to set up and use.

I received a suspicious text message to my mobile relating to an alleged large purchase from Argos that I knew nothing about. The message also contained a mobile number to call about the transaction, but I called the phone number on my card instead. The lady I spoke with was very thorough after going through all the security questions. She put my mind at ease and was totally professional with her customer service.
I’m always happy to be a customer of first direct.they have been working very hard towards my care as an independent individual for instance when I’m in trouble they’re always trying their best to solve my problem.i have not only spoken to the department that dealt with my account but the kind and honest people on the other well managed team who deal with other issues giving out additional information. Where my bucket definitely helped. Thank you for the years I have been working with you🐣
After receiving a text from First Direct about suspicious activity on my account i promptly phoned them and spoke to a real person (a rare experience for many companies) who put me through to the fraud team. After a few hours(which i didn't mind), talking with them i was reassured my account was safe and secure going forward. Any funds that had been fraudulently spent were refunded to me immediately. I was given plenty of useful information to protect my account going forward which i appreciated. The call only ended when i was completely satisfied with the information i was given. You don't get this level of customer service from other banks ( i know as have been customer of a few different banks and never had this level of service).
I lost my purse this weekend. It had my personal FD debit and credit and 2 non FD business credit cards. I had to call them all and what a difference between the FD experience and the other two calls. FD answered with no endless selections. The person who answered the phone was able to freeze the cards. I know the app was an option but am just changing phones and it wasn't accessible. When I got the new phone up and running the next day, I got mostly set up myself but was able to easily get help with loading the new card into the new wallet. The other cards? Couldn't even talk to one of customer service depts to cancel until Monday morning after 9am.......multiple frustrating calls on Saturday and Sunday to establish this.
I had a query about joint accounts status upon the future death of one account holder. The answer was delivered clearly and concisely.

First direct are excellent. Whether it is a personalised phone call with one of your excellent members of staff, or using the app and AI. I am very satisfied with first direct and I am so glad I changed this form of banking.

Without going into to much detail. The staff had exceeded expectations. We had an unexpected surprise with our account and the staff at First Direct went far and beyond to resolve it. In fact 1hr 24mins of time, with further follow up information via email. Amazing.
Had to cancel a switching service as I choose the wrong bank, phoned this morning and talking to a lady with a strong accent. She couldn't understand what I was saying for a good 10 minutes, and they was extremely rude and asked me to recall.
My card got swallowed by a cash point without dispensing cash. I wanted to ensure my card and money were safe so I used online chat. I had immediate confirmation that all was well. However, the operator told me she couldn’t order me a new card, I had to do that on the app. Which I did. However, there is no category for the card being swallowed by a cash machine, only lost or stolen. I used lost, but then app told me I couldn’t order a card until I’d spoken to an operator on the phone.Which I did. So, instead of one simple online chat, I had to use three separate transaction, chat, app and phone call,to resolve my issue. I thought the tech was meant to make things easier? I gave this review 5 stars because both of the people I interacted with were efficient and helpful.
For far too many years I have always been mightily impressed with First Direct, and I speak as an ordinary working class person, not a wealthy one. Their service has always been top class, extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. Started off with telephone banking last century, which was always UK based and gave painless service, and have continued with internet which is similarly efficient. Would never consider changing. Very happy.

I have opened a new bank account with First Direct. I had a problem with their web site form. I was actually able to discuss the matter with a human being in the UK! They were able to help me sort out the problem in a matter of minutes. Refreshingly great service! May it long continue!
