First Home Improvements is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.

The whole process from start to finish was very smooth. Everyone was polite, helpful and very professional.
I was impressed with the salesman, impressed with the job that was done, really like the doors and windows, job done quickly, efficiently, and then follow up from the sales department - all in all 5 star - thank you.
I had new windows & doors fitted recently and I'm very satisfied with them. Mark Spencer, Chris Cade & Brandon Milliard were very professional, polite, friendly, helpful & hardworking, their attitude to the job was first class. I have no hesitation in recommending First Home Improvements to anyone who is considering new windows & doors.
Product amazing, four windows installed in only four and a half hours. Not cheap but worth the extra. Janet Souter, Chorley lancs
They answered to all our questions, windows came on time, they done all work fast and good quality.
Rob and Jordan arrived at our house, introduced themself and spent 2 day in our house replacing all our windows. They left the house clean and have done a great job with a really good finish. On the second day the installing manager visited the team checking the job. The team spent some time explaining how to use and mantain the windows. Also the overall process was great, they uderstand all our needs. I highly recomend
I am very satisfied with my experience. They were professional and efficient. Very happy with my new windows.
More than happy to recommend Liam and Dan from 1st Home Improvements, two tricky windows to fit, but the guys were quick, courteous and respectful of our home throughout the process. Highly recommended.
Composite Front Door. From purchase order to Survey 1 week, Manufacture to Installation 3 weeks, installation half day. Email and telephone communications informative and friendly. On the day of installation the two installers were fast and efficient and left the worksite clean and tidy. The finished door looks great and impresses visitors.
Thank you for your hard work.
I had five windows replaced. The fitters (Stuart and Neil) were excellent. Arrived on time and worked well. Particularly impressed with the finish of the surrounds on the inside of the windows. Were respectful to my home and no mess was left after the work was completed. Very pleased with the results. .
Brett Kemp and Charlie Kemp are hardworking and work to a high standard. The finish was excellent and everything was cleared away. The site was left clean and tidy. I would definitely use Firsthome improvements again.
Well managed installation. Installation team arrived on time were polite, worked efficiently and cleanly, respecting the fact they were working in somebody’s home. Would recommend.
I have had a positive experience with the ordering and fitment of replacement windows and rear door assembly from this company. The original contact was by a cold visit, they then sent a sales representative, Richard who was courteous and personable and didn't apply pressure. The work was carried out in a timely manner and on time with minimum disruption. The two installers, David Mayes and Sam Tyrrell were also courteous and personable and kept the mess created to a minimum and used dust sheets, not just in the work area but also through the house where they needed to gain access, i.e stairs, hall, through the lounge. The products feel and look well made. I have now ordered guttering and associated parts from them because of the experience I have just had. From my experience I would highly recommend.
I am very happy with the work that was done at my home. It was quickly done with no mess. The workers were very polite and helpful with showing me all the bit and pieces. So I thank you very much for the windows.
had some readjustment/ wear and tear work done to the front door had the very helpful service engineer Jade Downs over and he did a fabulous job very accommodating efficient and helpful explaining in detail what he had done to solve the problem
Your installation team, Jay and Ed were professional and conscientious and works commenced as advised on the 17th March 2025. The installation was completed within the programmed time slot. I have no problem with the finished article, however minor damage occurred to my garage roof tile when dismantling scaffold, they tried to repair the damage on the spot and arranged a same day repair by a roofer at their cost. I would be happy to use this company again.
My installers I.Hussain and A.Roskell were amazing their attention to detail was everything and they spoke me through the process when issues came up and how they were going to fix them. They did a great job and it’s made a massive difference can not recommend them enough
I'm going to keep this somewhat vague as possible as the amount of issues I could write about would take a very long time. I wasn't sure whether to write this at first as they attempted to correct their wrong-doings, but unfortunately, didn't fully keep to their word, so here I am. Firstly we went through Help2Buy Windows, yet were still quoted over £10k for 5 windows & a 'value' option door (1 window was a bay window and we was advised this was £3k alone due to needing poles, but was later told by themselves, that no poles were used so that was a load of rubbish??) The salesman lied, about almost everything. We discovered this as the installation went on. We had a lot of different fitters & interaction with a lot of staff from this company, way over 10 people. Some fitters didn't follow simple instructions, such as I had pets I needed to make safe by leaving in 1 room at a time so they cannot escape out the front door or where they are removing windows. Once they'd finished with a bedroom they said I can leave the pets in there as they won't need to go in there again, so I did, and told them of the importance of letting me know if they need in there. We put a camera in to keep an eye on the pets in case they get scared. The camera showed the window fitter walking into our bedroom and standing there with the door open! When I confronted them, the first 2 fitters denied anyone going in there and said they saw my Husband go in there (he wasn't at home, and I could see on the camera it was them). Eventually the 3rd fitter admitted it. He didn't have any good excuse either. One of the many things the salesman promised us, was that all windows will have child locks on, which was very important for us. However, they originally fitted them all without child locks, so they agreed to come back to fit them. Due to various fitters unable to fit them, some due to lack of knowledge / experience, and some due to bringing the wrong fitments multiple times, this went on for quite some time. Eventually, most child locks were fitted. However, 2 were missing. This, along with the fitters leaving 2 bottles of glue behind, 1 being left sideways and leaking down our furniture, I attempted to complain. This is where their customer service was just beyond shocking. I was ignored by most, until eventually I dealt with someone in their complaints department who was actually willing to listen & help, and agreed to escalate it. By now as well, we'd waited in & had 2 no-shows for their 'inspections' which we was originally waiting on due to the issues we'd had, however were since advised that their 'inspections' are not to inspect, but to advertise more of their products and that they just call it that to sound good. We were advised we'd receive a voucher towards money off their services in the future, as all customers are offered this once they've completed work. Unsurprisingly we never received such voucher. Not that we'd want to use them again. The escalation process, which was after many times of me pushing them, resulted in I believe an area manager offering us £250 compensation, for the ruined furniture covered in their abandoned glue bottles and for the 2 days we'd waited in for them to not turn up. He also said he will get the fitters to return to do the 2 windows with missing child locks. The fitters did return, but only done 1 window. So we have 1 outstanding. I tried ringing the area manager again, and it went to voicemail. This was over a month ago and I've not heard back. I'm done chasing them, as it took months for someone to listen in the first place, the amount of times I've had to contact them, I'm all out of trying. We had many other issues, but it was definitely a life lesson for us and we pulled out of having other works done due to this experience.
