First of all I would love to thank Jamie Poulton, Ifti Hassain, Harry Gill and Alan Raskell for coming to do my windows and doors today. I got a 5 star service, they were thorough and their workmanship was tops. I could not fault this team of 4, efficient, polite, easy to get along with, on time and windows and doors done to the highest standard. Thank you so much. I would also like to thank F1RST Home Improvements for giving me a good service and giving me the chance to better my home. An excellent company to deal with. 5/5…. *Update* They agreed to compensate me for problems that occurred after installation so have increased to three stars. Terrible installation. Had new windows fitted in Dec 2023 over the next few months cracks appeared in the upstairs bay window brickwork either side of the window. After contacting them there was an initial promise of someone to come look at it, they were a no show. “Area manager” then came to look and said just settlement cracks but they would make good. After this promise complete silence. Have since had a builder come repair. I’m so glad I did as this was so much more than just settlement issues the cracks were actually the bricks separating and at its worse the gap was 30mm. Definitely do not recommend I have asked them to pay for the repair but have as yet had no response from them. I have since had a builder come to repair the gaps this is going to cost me at least £600

your lovely installer mike Taylor ref 127225 arrived on time was polite smart and tidy worker really knew his trade and door is really good quality and looks smart

Richard and Jason arrived on time to replace 2 doors and 10 windows the job was quoted to take 2 days and was completed by lunch time on the second day. they were both polite and professional, the old windows and doors were both taken away and explained how the windows could be adjusted if needed. also christan was very polite and professional when he came to give the quote and explain things.

Mike Taylor installed our french doors, he was courteous, and did an excellent job. We recommend First Home Improvements

They explained everything possible about the product and the safety features.The fitters pointed out any problems before removing or replacing with the new unit and were very friendly and efficient even cleaning after installation.

Good quality door looks really nice very pleased with it and will use them again

Just had 13 windows installed by 2 men from First home improvements, Tony Crooks and Sean Rippingdale, both very experienced window fitters, surveyor quoted 3 days work, Tony and Sean took one and a half days, not by cutting corners but by working non stop at a very high quality. started by spreading dust sheets everywhere, then worked independently, thus installing 2 windows at once. Excellent workmanship right down to the last detail, cannot praise their work enough, excellent work, very pleased.

Was great experience Jade was a friendly guy who was happy to help fixed the problem with ease very professional In The way he came across explaining step by step and was polite would like to say a big thank you and I would recommend first home improvement to everyone who is looking for new windows as you get a great value for money and peace of mind experts in the way they do things

The fitters Jamie and Harry arrived on time on the agreed day introduced themselves and then set about placing dust covers in appropriate places. Then set about removing old windows upstairs first ( this was a 2 day installation). Both worked continuously ( I had to provide coffee and biscuits to ensure they were ok) their fitting is very satisfying and they continuously tidied up and a complete tidying on completion. Before leaving Jamie took time to explain the operation of the new windows and fab front door. These two guys are are a credit to themselves and the company.

Similar to other reviews I have seen. Someone came round and said they could send someone round the next day to give a quick quote that would be fixed for 2 years. I've been thinking about getting some windows replaced so thought why not, but I was very clear didn't want it to take long. Very nice chap turned up and looked at the windows. Then insisted on giving me the history of the company, explaining every detail of the windows, and showing me an example. Oh and also making the fake call to his manager so he could say we would get the "special discount". I wonder if anyone has ever been told they wont get it? After he had been there about an hour I asked if we could speed it up because I was taking time out of my working day to do this. He suggested coming back another day. I told him I didn't want to take time out of another day and could he just measure the windows and give us a quote. He seemed to be saying this would take a long time, so I asked if he could measure the windows and then email me the quote if it took so long to work it out. He seemed completely flummoxed by the idea of sending an email. He said no one had ever asked him to email a quote and he would have to ask his manager. He phoned his manager (apparently) and was told they are not allowed to email a quote. He measured the windows and then was insisting we had to sit down while he talked us through some things. Presumably the hard sell part of the process. We told him we didn't have time and asked that as he had measured the windows he just give us a quote. He refused to give us a quote after wasting over an hour of our time so my other half asked him to leave. If a company lies about their process, can't send an email and is unable to quote a price after over an hour in a house (btw we were looking at 2 windows...not a whole house). I have severe doubts as to their ability to do anything with any degree of competence so I had a lucky escape. *Edit to add* I have looked through and no one leaving a negative review gets any reply from the business. Another reason to avoid as they have no interest in improving. *Further edit* As I cannot reply directly to comments, please note I have sent my details which I believe will be forwarded, and also sent an email of complaint. If I hear back I will update the review accordingly. *Final Edit* I have received an email reply with an apology and told that feedback will be passed on.
