I used Costco travel for a car rental booking. Everything went well until I received the statement from ENTERPRISE Car rental where they charged me for an undisclosed charge. Shame on ENTERPRISE. I contacted COSTCO TRAVEL and they fixed everything. It took a couple of emails but issue was solved. A special thanks goes out to Carla P, escalation specialist. I definitely will use Costco Travel again
We booked a Bora Bora package. We were notified that the hotel would be experiencing extension renovations (noise), so we cancelled. Costco Travel would not refund the Air portion and would NOT contact the Airline to rebook. Terrible service. You always get someone different when you call in. Not a full service agency...effectively all they do is booking. Buyer beware if you need a real travel agent to advocate and correct problems on your behalf.

Unless that is you want to not get picked up at the airport or get a ride back to the airport. Both trips no shuttle for supposedly the biggest contract out of Cancun. Costco travel is trash I would highly recommend against using its service as it’s not streamlined, smooth or will work as expected. Instead you’ll get ghosted, the runaround with NO solution, acknowledgment of the issue or remedy. Would rate 0/5 if possible.
Ripoff. I have been a big fan of Costco for years, but this is my first experience purchasing a "package" deal from them and I will never do it again. They lie when they give you a "total package cost", then ask you to select seats for all flights. THEN they take your money. Afterwards, they tell you to contact the airline for seat selection, who try to rip you off with additional fares. When I called to leave a complaint with Costco, they gave me the runaround, then told me I couldn't complain until AFTER my trip. Find a good travel agent; this company does a lot of things well, but providing travel packages isn't one of them. (Of course they refer to their endless "adhesion agreements" about how the airlines MAY charge you additional for seats, but only AFTER they take your seat selections. Nonsense.)
Costco travel has been horrible to work with. We had many flight changes in our travel package and they never once informed of us of any of the changes. One was a downgraded seat seat change from business to economy and they refused any compensation. We are out about 800 to 1000$. Luckily after contacting air Canada they will refund us because Costco refused it. I will never book with Costco again
We booked a P&O cruise through Costco Travel, a group of us are going. I had to cancel a place as the person passed away unexpectedly. Both Costco travel and P&O are charging a cancellation fee. Despite several calls complaining neither company will waive the fee and on top of that they have recalculated the cost of my holiday. No explanation as to why they would do this. I have put my complaint in writing and have not had a reply. Surely complaints should be replied to! As the circumstances are not normal, the cancellation fee should not apply and the original cost per person should apply. I have been challenging this since March 2025 ! There is no empathy/sympathy for my situation.
Terrible customer service representatives don’t expect them to go out of their way to assist you in booking you cruise.
We had a fantastic experience with Costco Travel on our recent trip to Europe. It was flawless. They thought of everything. They can't control everything, which I see a lot of these 1 star reviews complaining about. They can't control flights being canceled. That's an airline issue that we all face in any travel scenario. But they were so helpful in planning our trip, and we got the best price. Better than anything else we priced out. Thank you Costco Travel!
The airline cancelled my flight and didn't tell me until I showed up at check-in the day of travel. I contacted Costco to let them know my flight was cancelled and to cancel the entire trip (rental car, hotel, etc). The rep proceeded to argue with me and tell me they had no control over the airline, so I was out all of my money. The rep talked over me the entire time, and I never even got to fully explain what happened. While I agree Costco does not have control over the airline's actions, I booked the trip through COSTCO. The main reason I have a complaint is due to the way I was treated by the Costco travel rep. Completely unprofessional. I paid $5,300 for a trip and their response was to argue with me and talk over me. Unbelievable. Will never book with you again.
Poor customer service. Once your travel date changes, working with Costco customer service is hell. Their process and service are terrible. You will face pain every where with them. Server hours of discussion are required to resolve your issue, and there is no guarantee that it will be resolved.

I am an executive member with Costco for last 12 Years and I booked all holiday packages through Costco, untill now - not any more. Costco customer service does not own the problems, they would ask the customer to work with the companies directly - which is a total waste of time in a holiday where we are paying by hour. Expedia does better job, they own the problem, fix the issue and call back as customer can enjoy the time in holidays. World has moved on Costco, time for you to change.
I booked a trip to London through Costco Travel. I could have done it about $1,000.00 cheaper on my own but figured it would be nice to have the ability to use costco customer support if anything went wrong. When the second leg of our return flight was cancelled by the airline and the airline would not rebook us for 2 days, I called Costco for help. I was told that since it was a weekend there was really nothing they could do. I asked about the trip insurance I purchased with Costco and was again told I would have to call back on Monday. Well, I had to be home by Monday so I rented a car and drove 9 hours home. I am now being told by the airlines that they cannot issue a refund and that I have to go through Costco. Costco says it will be 1-2 weeks before anyone is even assigned to help me. The insurance I purchased through Costco is telling me, that despite having coverage for alternative transportation due to a trip interruption, a rental car is not included in that coverage. So in the end, I would have saved money and had better customer support if I had booked everything directly myself instead of going through Costco.
Pricing and booking went great. Vacation great. Home for a month and no Costco gift card. Impossible to speak with a human for answers. Finally got gift card after long time online.
Booked car rental through the Costco Travel website. Was charged by Budget for LDW Protection without the amount being mentioned by the Customer Service Agent in Houston (IAH). This added $26.99/day on top of our rate. Celina and Janet at Member Services for Costco Travel totally went to bat for me and got that portion of the agreement refunded. I was shocked. So pleased with the dedication that Celina and Janet showed. Will definitely use Costco Travel in the future.
Booking a rental car reservation with Costco Travel is useless. I booked a reservation for Spring Break travel 3 months in advance only to be called by local AVIS/Budget that the car I "reserved" is not available. AVIS/Budget said I didn't pre-pay reservation so I'm just stuck with what's available. The Seinfeld skit is real. Costco is great at making reservations, but not "holding" a reservation.
I had a very disappointing experience with Costco Travel and would not recommend them. We booked a resort stay through them in September 2023, but they gave us the wrong room. We missed out on the room we actually wanted for 3 of the 5 days of our trip. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed the resort for the mix-up. On top of that, our car rental was a disaster. The car we received was dirty and had no windshield washer fluid. I had to wait two hours for them to clean it because they had no replacements available. When I finally got the car, I drove off on a rainy day, only to realize they still hadn’t refilled the windshield washer fluid—making highway driving dangerous. After the trip, I contacted Costco Travel, and they were apologetic, offering a 3-day Budget rental voucher as compensation. However, when I went to use it, I was shocked to find out it had already expired. Costco Travel refused to do anything to correct the situation despite multiple calls and emails. If they issue a voucher as compensation, they should at least ensure it’s valid for a reasonable amount of time. This experience showed a complete lack of accountability and customer care. I expected better from Costco, but after this, I will be booking my travel elsewhere.
Not reliable. Costco will not take any responsibility for the hotels they offer even when the hotel is covered in black mold and a health hazard. Long waits on hold to get in touch with customer service in the phone and only available to be called at office hours (so if you are travelling out of their office hours you’re in your own). After speaking to several customer service reps over several days, it is very apparent that they just follow a script and no problems get resolved. Impossible to get anyone to take anything seriously and being given different information every time we call. Also being told nothing can be done until you have completed your trip (defeats the purpose of having customer service at all). Avoid
Booked a cruise and was sent the confirmation which included a room that we didnt want, ie an infinity balcony rather than an open balcony. I rang and cancelled the holiday and one month later still no return of my deposit. I would never attempt to use them again
