Absolutely horrendous experience especially when it comes to customer care or complete lack of, for want of a better phrase!
I was able to make it back to the rental office on time on the day that I was due to drop off my rented vehicle, although I would have had to rush slightly to do so. I rang the office hours ahead of time to check whether I was able to return the car at around 7 pm as opposed to 5 pm before their office closed, and I was told by a young male that this would be fine and that he would leave a note next to my name stating this. I then received a later call from another employee at 5:50 pm asking where I was. I explained that I had spoken to one of her colleagues who said it was okay to bring the car back later and that there should be a note by my name. She said that there was no note and that there would be a late charge of £43. The young male who I originally spoke to failed to mention the charge and if he had told me this, it would have affected the time in which I took to get back and drop the car off. This company shows a complete lack of internal communication and empathy for the customer. No willing to admit their wrongdoings or want to make the customer feel heard and valued.
I was then told to email their support address as I was not happy to be charged - I asked if I could do this and speak to someone before being charged so that we could work out some kind of resolution. I was told that this would be fine. Following this, I emailed them the next day with all of the relevant details, only for the email to not be responded to (which is still the case) and for the charge to be automatically debited from my bank account.
I then rang their office the next day and enquired this, only to speak to the most inconsiderate and argumentative employees. She had no compassion for my point of view on the matter and this is upsetting as a customer. When you are made to feel like you are lying and not being honest, this is not right. I was then asked if I would like to be contacted the next day (yesterday 30th June 2021) to speak to someone else and I haven't even received this call.
On another note, they do not take care of their car keys. The electric one I was given was falling apart, to the extent that the rubber material on the unlock button fell off in the car, so when I locked the car when getting out, I couldn't get back in.
I will definitely be more inclined to take my business elsewhere in the future when next renting a vehicle out, even though their Hove office is not far from where I live.
