Cargiant has a wide variety of cars to choose from. The staff is very patient despite the time it can take to choose a car! Sabin was an excellent Sales Advisor whose support helped me make the final decision without pressure.
The fast food of car sales. Cheap and … errm … unfortunately not very cheerful. It started ok, after queuing at a faceless airport-like check in desk, we were assisted and saw the car we wanted, had a brief look (we were in a hurry), and put a deposit on. The sales staff at this point were fast and we left on time. Unfortunately the car was dirty both inside and out, but we expected it clean on collection. We had said a couple of times that we would arrange an AA inspection which they were happy with. We booked this on the same day, but it took 3 days and multiple calls for Car Giant to acknowledge that the AA could attend, with different suggestions every time (one said they could just turn up whenever, one said we had not put down enough of a deposit (like this was my fault) so it couldn’t be inspected, others said they needed an email, but couldn’t find the email that the AA had sent). The AA gave up and just sent an email to Car Giant with the approx time they would arrive which I forwarded to them as well just to be sure. Finally the inspection happened and flagged some small issues. I called to discuss, and sent them the report. They left a voicemail saying they would look at a couple of these (without specifying what they would do), and seemed surprised when I later called to ask what action they were taking (many calls to them were met with unhelpful almost annoyed attitudes that I should be calling and bothering them). Since they decided to replace the faulty battery and unevenly worn brakes I’m giving this 2 stars as that was the good part of service. I also performed an AA car data check, and during a call with Car Giant I asked them for the VIN, V5 issue date and serial number (as per the AA data check form). The agent couldn’t distinguish between V5 issue date and car registration date, and refused to give me the serial number (I never had a problem with these checks before). After challenging twice he spoke to his manager and reluctantly provided to me as a one-off, however he provided the reference number not the serial number (luckily I was typing into the form and noticed). I helped him with where to find the serial number and finally he provided, though once I’d confirmed the AA check had completed he just rudely put the phone down on me. We asked about a cosmetic issue (small dent with a scratch) but unlike other garages they’re not willing to fix it - they don’t fix cosmetic issues apparently. They hounded us for payment before the collection date, but we just paid after we’d seen for ourselves that the car had the fixes promised. The car was filthy still inside and out when we collected - very poor. They clearly don’t care about the customer experience. The spare key was dead so we had to make another trip back to the collections team to get them to fix it (just a battery), but would have taken 2 min to check and replace before we arrived. We had also been promised that although the genuine tyre inflator had been removed (they store them safe apparently) it would be put back in at collection time. Instead we were handed a cheap canister of air and gel combined. Maybe it does the same job (though an electric inflator can be used any time to pump the tyres up), however it’s not what they promised. Had we not been short of time to get the car my daughter wanted, and had there been a more plentiful supply we would have probably gone elsewhere, but we just persevered to make the best of it. It’s a faceless, disorganised production line, they were unhelpful and rude to the point where they really couldn’t be bothered to help with the sale. It said it all when the barrier exit code they texted us was unrecognised at the exit gate even after trying 3 times, and we had to buzz them to let us out. We won’t be returning.
Great experience today, I viewed 4 cars and test drove one of them. Tian was very helpful and answered all my enquiries which led to my purchase.
Stephanie was patient and was able to answer all the questions i had and even advised me with the best options. Scott was also very welcoming and helped us look at all our possible options and choices. He was friendly and even stayed back whilst i answered some final questions before securing my car. A lady in a white blazer (sorry i did not get her name) was also amazing and quickly responded to my concerns and she was very apologetic concerning my enquiry.
The sales, finance and collections team were fantastic. Made sure to explain everything carefully and made sure I understood everything. Fairly quick and straightforward process from walking in to driving away in my new car. This would have been a 5* review if they had prepped and cleaned the car before collection like they used too. Just adds that little bit more for the client.
