Browns Restaurants have gone down hill big time since they left Brighton. We will no longer go there!
Great service, great food!
A shame that such a nice venue is lacking when it comes to the all important service and quality of food. When we first arrived we were looked after by attentive staff. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was a complete disappointment. It was overcooked to the point I could hardly cut into it and the meat was as dry as a bone and chewy. My pint of beer wasn't a full pint either, something I and others I know have experienced before in this restaurant and something Browns continually fail to put right. We were given dessert menu's straight after our main meal so we asked for five minutes to decide. We waited for another 20 minutes before we could get the attention of a server. After dessert we wanted a coffee and another long wait ensued. Our server took our order and after waiting another 15 minutes we asked where the coffees were only to be told the server had forgotten to put the order through! Overall a poor experience of Browns in terms of service and the quality of the food especially considering this was a Saturday evening and the restaurant wasn't even 50% full. We won't be back for a while, Browns need to actually do something about the comments they receive and up their game considering there are plenty of other (and better) places to eat with quality service.
Considering the high profile standing of this Covent Garden restaurant on which have visited a few times although not in some years sadly the standards have fallen , eg misleading menu prices small print not pointed out by very inexperienced staff who struggled to get order correct leading to a frustrating meal
Browns - Ruislip. Utterly appalling. Poor quality food, served up by an obviously poorly trained and disorganised kitchen staff although most of the dishes were pre cooked and tasteless. Chicken schnitzel was more Macdonalds than fine cuisine. The service haphazard and some staff literally threw items onto the table. Best part of this restaurant are the plants outside. To be avoided. Definitely the worst restaurant in the area for value and quality and that is some accolade not to be proud to have. Incredibly noisy so if you dont want to talk or hear what your table companions are saying this is perhaps the place for you but not for me. Truly horrendous
Can't comment on the food because we didn't get any! We had a reservation for 5:30pm. We had been to a theatre matinee, which finished earlier than we expected, so we arrived at Browns at 4:50. We pointed this out to the lady on the door who rather abruptly told us we couldn't have our table early, and that we could wait in the bar. It was a bit of a surprise because there seemed to be quite a few empty tables. That, in its self not a major issue, but given her attitude, she really should get a job she likes, preferably one that keeps her away from people. So, not off to a good start. A man led us to the bar and basically left us there. We thought it might have been appropriate to give us menus. There were no waiting staff, so I went to the bar and got us drinks. 5:30 approached and we watched tables being cleared and reset. Several people were brought in and seated. At 6pm we got up and left and found a very nice Italian restaurant.
On arrival we asked about taking our dog in with us to which we were told no problem and we were taken through the restaurant to a garden table. Our server promptly got a fresh bowl of water for the dog. The meal was excellent and plenty of it. Thoroughly recommend Brown's at Windsor. Management and staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Came today for sunday roast bristol browns very dissapointed to be told no lamb,no beef ,no chicken ...then we asked for scollops no scollops ...decided to leave after 1 drink ...as far as iam concerned very bad management
Amazing service from Carolina today in Ruislip! She was extremely attentive and make us all feel really welcome. She also make the effort to make it really special for my dad whose birthday it was! Thanks you were fab! Xx
Carolina at the Ruislip branch was very attentive and helpful and the service was amazing! The food was beautiful
Has a nice time here staff very attentive. That is what you expect when eating out. The menu was excellent will go again.
We went on Saturday for a late breakfast with our two kids at the Birmingham branch of Browns. The breakfast was outstanding! All the food was high quality and cooked perfectly. Michelle who served us was super friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble, we felt welcome and not rushed in anyway ( a lot of other restaurants could learn a thing or two from Michelle). We will 100% be going back to Browns in Brum.
Delicious food, beautiful location and outstanding service !!!
Absolutely fantastic service from Steven this morning, enjoyed a lovely fresh breakfast and coffee. Great food at a reasonable price. So friendly and helpful, will certainly be back!
Browns Bath Pros Reasonable welcoming reception sort of friendly Helpful relocation of table Menu average choices quality ok Cons Over attentive waiters Over priced VERY Felt awkward requesting tap water and didn’t receive and charged over £5.00 for less than a litre of bottled Very uncomfortable seats Slow service particularly when first seated probably 15 minutes at least Most of all I’ve made several visits with accounts over £200 though having the app still yet to be credited points to benefit from money off programme and no way to query online as the staff seem uninformed or uninterested My thoughts are Browns equals Kwikfit sell sell sell mentality ( not that kwikfit sell alcohol of course As much alcohol as possible
Im only giving 2 stars for my shepherds pie - no meat & very runny mash, great if you are 6 months old!! Our server was amazing (Melston) bit of chaos when the shifts changed over
Love Browns in Oxford, great experience and really good food!
Always have some nice food here 😊
Visited Browns Beaconsfield and was not impressed at all. Had the prawn & crab linguini and had about 5 small prawns & no crab, tasted mainly of pesto. Sent it back & when it came back out it was cold & had slightly more crab flakes but was not offered any discount or anything and they even added a 10% service charge which I asked to be removed! Over priced at £17.95! There was a tiny portion of peas and tartare sauce with the fish and chips and the chicken schnitzel was a bit greasy. I would not rush to visit again nor recommend it as the food was overpriced and of substandard quality.
We went to Browns Ruislip for lunch yesterday and it was amazing, the service was perfect; with manager Alicya overseeing things with such professionalism and our waiter Aaron being so attentive, it was perfect. Our meal from start to finish was fantastic and probably the best ribeye I have had. All 5 of us enjoyed it so much, well done.
Have visited the Ruislip Browns on 3 occasions and found staff and food good. Unfortunately one of the gentleman front of house isn’t very welcoming. First visit there was a 12 of us and 4 had an Irish coffee and when it arrived this was in a latte glass and they couldn’t taste the whisky. We spoke with the waitress and she said I’m sorry we will take them off the bill this. Anager cane over asked what the problem was and said there was nothing he could do the right measure was in the glass. The glass was too big. Second visit I asked to sit at a table with a chair as he took me to the bench seat and again he pulled a face as if I’d asked for something impossible, and last week when I went with friends we were given the bench seats as I was concerned about asking for a table with chairs. My friend had just had a knee replacement and we had to ask for a chair and when he showed people into the Restraunte he looked over with a frown. The Beaconsfield Browns is a much more friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Other visits 27th December, 13thJanuary

However, a substantial number of complaints focus on poor service, with customers reporting disappointing experiences, such as limited menu options and unresponsive staff.
