Slow order

Ordered shoes on 8/31, SIX DAYS AGO They took the money out on 8/31 and it was pending for days on my debit card, then apparently the authorization dropped off and I didn't know. They drafted it again yesterday, which caused huge problems at the bank. Shoes have been paid for and order has still not been shipped. Might be a scam. Don't use this company if you need anything fast. I could have gotten a shipment from China by now

**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Store Experience!** "I recently visited Big 5 Sporting Goods, and I was thoroughly impressed! The customer service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and eager to help. The store was clean, well-organized, and had a great selection of products. I found exactly what I was looking for, and the prices were very reasonable. Happy Customer!

I bought an item at Big 5 and 3 weeks later, the item stopped working. I didn’t even have the box the item came in anymore but I returned it to the Big 5 in Tehachapi with the receipt. No questions asked, I was given the same item as a replacement. Wow! How great was that - who does that anymore? The Big 5 employee was pleasant and understanding and I walked out a happy customer that will recommend Big 5 to family and friends for sure!

Customer Service attitude

I am a repeat customer, I usually find what I need but will stop going due to the rude salespeople. I have had 2 incidents at 2 different stores. One the cashier was rude trying to stuff water shoes into a bag for small items like socks and then he asked me if I could use my bag from the other store I just came from and told him no, I have blouses in them. On March 5th, I went to store on Juan Tabo to inquire about swimsuits for my granddaughters. Salesperson replied everything I have is on the rack, I stopped her right there and spoke I need assistance with sizes because I am not familiar with Speedo or Nike girls' sizes. Response" "Oh, the person who does that just went to lunch" Really? she could not be bothered to assist me? Not impressed and should be provided retraining and how to speak to customers 101. How many times will this happen?

Today I was at Big 5 sporting store on Douglas Blvd. in Roseville ca, the employee Chad went out of his way to help me find some good walking shoes, Even went in the back of the store and showed me shoes that was not on the shelf. The good customer service was great you don't see that anymore. Even wanted to show me a jacket that went with the Oasics. Thank you for good customer service. I will be back

charges to send back…

This company charges to send back returns when ordering online. There is no Big 5 where I live and I'm not spending $30 worth of gas to find the nearest store. I spent $54.00 on boots that were too small and Big 5 took $ 24.00 of my refund for the return. FedEx charges $10.00 for a 2lb package on ground service which is what Big 5 uses. NEVER AGAIN. congratulations Big 5 you manage to squeeze out every last dime! Shopping elsewhere from now on.

Arvada, Colorado special experience at the 88th& Wadsworth store…

This review is about the 88th& Wadsworth store and a employee named Stacey. I am handicapped at the moment and I had high hopes of purchasing some Skecher slip-ons. This person did so much above and beyond what anyone could possibly expect to see if she could help me buy a pair of shoes and not because the store could use a sale but because she could see I really wanted this to work. Unfortunately as hard as we tried it did not work out and she helped me out of the store. I am using a walker and her sole purpose was to make sure I was safe. She is one special extraordinary person who has gone through her own hardships and if I ever met someone who should be promoted and given a raise it is her. Thank you Stacie, you made a lifelong customer today

I just dealt with Tara at the Factoria location and she was absolutely fantastic to help me with my return on a defective pair of shoes. I've been going to Big 5 for 30 years now and the factorial stores absolutely the clearance the best place you could ever go she did a fantastic job I want to thank her for doing just being a good person and asking the facts making sure I had my receipt in the box and stuff which I had and just doing a good job so. I think Tara did a fantastic job and her manager was there to help her and it was excellent good teamwork across the board one reason why I will always give Big 5 Sports 5 stars.

Planning an international flight and…

Planning an international flight and looking to buy a duffel bag with SPECIFIC carry-on measurements per airline requirements. B5 website has nearly NO size data on their bags, which is stupid. I tried to write their customer service an email to ask why this is, and they have THE MOST CUSTOMER-HATING website in the world: You must ID specific things like bridges or motorcycles to send the email, with images nearly impossible to view. After two mistaken tries it said "forbidden request" and logged me off. WHY WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND EVEN GO INTO A STORE THAT SHOWS FROM THE OUTSET THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT CONTEMPT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY PAY THEIR SALARIES?

Poor & Unpublished Return Policy

I purchased an inexpensive ($27) pool cue package about two weeks ago and have only played 5-6 games with it. The upper portion of the cue established a rattle of some sort. Each time I hit the cue ball it was thought there was a split in the wood or something was loose, obviously a defect. I went in today to the Moses Lake store to exchange it, possibly upgrade it. I talked to the polite counter person who said they would need to call a manager to the front. While waiting I went back to see if there was another one like mine. There was not so I decided to upgrade to a significantly higher quality set, $90. I got to the counter to finish the return and new transaction only to be informed by the manager on duty they do not take returns on pool cues because they are like baseball bats, an "impact" piece of equipment, store policy. Their return policy on their website clearly states no returns on bats and to refer to the "in-store policy" which there was a link to. That policy further defined non-returnable items, nowhere mentioning pool cues. I explained that I was about to purchase something of far greater value with a higher profit margin, to which the manager said "I would get in trouble if I allow this return." I asked for the next level of management's phone number, to which he provided me their corporate customer service number. I then asked for the actual store manager's name because I want to speak with someone locally to resolve this issue, which I got but they are not in today. In the past three years I have spent about $1,000 on merchandise in this store. Seems a shame to lose a customer over an unpublished return policy and $5.00 profit when I was ready to spend far more than that. I'll let you know how it goes.

Purchased an instore weight set that had a big instore sign saying '$299'. Because it was heavy I was paying more attention to getting it out than the purchase, and I was charge $349. I shouldn't have to remind a store to honor the price on thier big sign on the product display. Didn't notice until I got home (which is in a different town). Feels like bait and switch and I will not be shopping there again (previously purchased at least $500 a year in shoes, etc). Charge the price you advertise in store. Too many companies use 'dark practices' like this nowadays for me to give a company any credit for it being a mistake.

Deceptive email ads

I get daily emails offering great discounts and bargains, decided to get a few things today. Chose a couple of on-sale items, assuming the store-wide 10% discount would apply. Wrong. Ended up being charged the regular full price less the 10% discount which added up to more than if I'd opted for the individual items sale prices. Never will buy anything from them again.

So I was at Big 5 looking to buy some…

So I was at Big 5 looking to buy some gamo pellets, the ones I wanted they had for sale for $11.99. I had just looked at the manufactures website before I went to Big-5 and saw the MSRP for that item was $7.99 so I pulled up the item online on gamo webpage and showed the store associate and his reply was we don’t price match. When I asked why they would be selling something for more than the manufactures price he said well we are a California company so our prices are like they would be in California you know more expensive. I said you are nuts and no I don’t know that because your a California company your pricing should be higher. I walked out and called the corporate headquarters. I spoke to someone in their customer service department about this and was told sorry our price is our price and if you don’t like it then go to Walmart or Amazon and buy it. I was totally floored by how caviler they are about their no price match policy. Seems like Big 5 lost track of what their competing against .

Big 5 sporting goods Burien WA

I’m subscribing Big 5’s advertising mail. I receive every week. Good to use when I shop there with coupon. They use coupon even I forgot coupon. However today i was unable to. I forgot my phone to use it and I explained it to sales. He asked manager. The store manager came. But he did not check or try to get me discount. He was not serving good to customer. I gave up to get weekly deal. I paid about $45. After coming back home and check Big 5 weekly deals of my email. I could have $10 off when I spent $50. The store manager did not know the deal which is his laziness and not educated of business as store manager. If he told me about it. I could have spent $5 more and got $10 off deal. It’s Burien, WA. Feeling pissed.

10:30 am young clerk in black shirt

The assist manager at the Lewiston, WA was very kind and helpful for the purchases that we got today for $150. The staff usually is very nice with an exception of one young man in a black shirt. My elderly husband needed to use the restroom and was told to go to the Staples store next door. Staples I am sure did not appreciate this. I think when a customer comes in, they should be able to use the restroom. I am filing a complaint with the city and county on this because it may be illegal in Idaho. If it is not at least it is bad PR.

Solid Retailer

Always a pleasure to stop and shop at Big 5 at the Mirada near Rosecrans avenue. The only place I buy my kayaks from. The reps are always on point and knowledgeable to address any questions. It's surprising to see there are so few reviews here. Folks, let's give Big 5 the Big Hand they deserve!

No higher end items

Great place to get something that you need quick that is sports related. I wish they carried the higher end stuff. I needed a evo Wilson ball and I had to order. Luckily I went to Walmart of all places and they had it.
