Review summary
Atlantis Events has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
in 2024 gaan wij weer mee, gezellig.
En ja dat mails beter beantwoord moeten worden is een fijt, maar dat is blijkbaar een ding overal
Atlantis doe daar iets aan
Graaaaaag
Some of the shows are great, but they repeat the same artists on almost every cruise.
There is very little variety - granted, some shows like Mrs Richfield and La Voix are great, but that Kathy Griffin was a nightmare of a show. The worst ive ever seen anywhere!
Kathy puts on the lamest show you can imagine - just a collection of name dropping, bitterness and simply not funny - not sure why Rich keeps bringing her back, thats puzzling - shes terrible, total has been and not worth seeing her
Also, their tipping policy of forcing tips, when no other cruise company does that, really pushes the price unnecesarily high - to me it feels like greed - cmon!!!
Spammed me. Never subscribed. Zero inerest or connection with their market. No idea where they bought my email ady from. Unsubscribe does not work. To be avoided.
BUYER BEWARE!!! CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I WOULD RATE THEM 0 IF POSSIBLE.
I booked the Rome to Rome Med cruise because I was excited for the ports of call including the overnight in Ibiza. The problems started shortly before the cruise when Atlantis claimed that Ibiza made a change to the berthing arrangements changing the overnight in Ibiza from Saturday to Sunday.
"We are writing to inform you of a change in the port order on our itinerary. The port of Ibiza made a change to their berthing arrangements for September and was no longer able to accommodate Odyssey on our originally scheduled date. Luckily, we were able to secure a new overnight call on September 3, but in doing so Royal Caribbean has had to change the operating order for the other ports.
As a result, we had to drop our calls to both Marseilles and Cagliari to accommodate most the original itinerary. The good news is that we now have longer stays in all ports and have added two fabulous sea days (which many of you were asking for)."
Who wants more sea days when you are in Europe??? Atlantis traps you on the ship to buy more drinks so they can make more money and save money on docking fees and taxes.
I asked for a partial refund as 1/3 of my vacation plans were changed or deleted saving Atlantis a lot of money on port fees and taxes on the deleted ports. Atlantis said that the terms and conditions allow them to make any changes without compensation so basically, they can make any changes they desire.
While on the ship I checked with Royal Caribbean's guest service manager who told me Atlantis changed the Ibiza date so the ship would be in port for the Glitterbox party at Hi Ibiza that is held only on Sunday. Glitterbox announced their schedule in February 2023 so Atlantis knew when the party was held. Atlantis employees pushed the $145 party pass and the $60 transfers to the party which included 1 free drink.
We were told we would arrive in Ibiza at 8pm Sunday, so I purchased $600 VIP tickets for Amnesia that opened at 11pm. The ship stayed out of the port of Ibiza until after midnight because we were told that the pilot boat could not navigate the windy conditions. However shortly after midnight (same weather conditions) the pilot boat was able to guide the ship to port. I believe that the ship was held out of port, so Atlantis only had to pay 1 day of docking fees. Atlantis allowed the guest who booked their party at Glitterbox to leave the ship first and made the rest of us wait. I lost 3 hours of fun at Amnesia because of Atlantis' actions. We were originally scheduled to arrive on Saturday at 3pm and leave Sunday at 8 pm.
Once I arrived home, I again requested a partial refund from Atlantis in which they responded:
"There is nothing we can offer beyond the $50 onboard credit and we will not be able to honor your request for a refund. As our terms and conditions clearly state, the itinerary may change at any time for a variety of reasons. Thank you.
Best regards,
Benji

I have traveled with Atlantis and other cruise lines all over the world and have never been treated so poorly and with such disregard. Atlantis only cares about making money. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
First of all let me say that we really had a great time, so if you want the short version: Yes this is an awesome experience, go buy your ticket!
We went on the 10 day Mediterranean cruise in august 2022 aboard the "Odyssey of the Seas" cruise ship, which is to my knowledge one of the larger of cruise ships with around 4000 guests i think.
I would roughly estimate that 75% of all guest were Americans, and the remaining 25% were mainly European, so this means pretty much everyone on the ship spoke english.
We were traveling five people (my boyfriend and I plus three friends). We chose two rooms, both with a balcony. The room for three people was 7437 dollars. The room for two people was 5958 dollars. The rooms were identical (which is fair of course that you pay more for an extra person).
It was difficult to see anything about prices onboard or what exactly could be expected to be included. It does say on the web page that "Things that are not included are few and far between".
This statement is in my opinion far from reality, and might be what annoyed me the most about AtlantisEvents. Lacking/misleading information! So for this reason i did a small list on some of the things that are included and some of the things that are not.
Included:
> Great food at several restaurants with changing menus and perfect service pretty much all trough the day without any need for reservations.
> Lemonade, coffee, water, and juice at the above mentioned restaurants.
> Entertainment in the form of shows and great parties every day.
> Your room with twice daily cleaning.
Not included:
> Specialty restaurants aboard the ship (like a sushi place, a steakhouse, etc.).
> Soft drinks like coke, fanta, etc. (~4 dollars)
> All alcoholic beverages like beer (~10-12 dollars), wine (~13-17 dollars), drinks(~15 dollars). You can buy drinks tickets that gets the price down to 12 dollars.
You are not allowed to bring alcohol or soft drinks aboard the ship with the exception of two bottles of wine/champagne (not hard liquor) per room.
> Excursions off-ship (~150 dollars, although very varying prices here)
> All beverages including water, outside of the designated cafes/restaurants.
> Photographs taken by photographers on board (20 dollars for one print or digital copy, a little cheaper in bulk but will require you to spend 150-300 dollars)
> Wifi or chat systems on board the ship.
The above means that unless you dont drink alcohol you will definitely need to bring your wallet. Personally i can say that my boyfriend and I spent around 2000 dollars on the ship. Im okay with prices being whatever they may be, but i disaprove of the lack of information regarding all of the above.
The Royal Caribbean has an app to use on board. This is completely useless! And by all means do not buy the chat package in the app, it didnt function properly and was just a waste of money. The app in general is meant for you to see what's going on at the ship, but it is not updated with the shows etc. It is just really hopeless and would need a total revamp to be of any use, but you will need to download it anyway as you get your boarding pass there and upload covid-info etc.
I may have underlined a lot of the bad things about our cruise, but this is just so you know what you are getting into. Overall, my feelings towards AtlantisEvents are positive and i also want to state what makes the AtlantisEvents Cruise great: The parties (lots of them!), nice restaurants wtih all the food you could dream of, new city almost every day, perfect service (i mean really good, all of the staff are just amazing), and open people/guests (you'll make a ton of new friends :-)
So to sum up: There is room for improvement when it comes to the available information. But i will still give Atlantisevents 5 stars because we really had a great time and you can feel that they do a lot to give you value for your money. Just expect to spend a lot of it ;)
Atlantis is a sinking ship. We are under a travel advisory to not leave Canada, making it difficult to find international health insurance. We also bought cancellation insurance, but it excludes government travel advisories. Atlantis refuses to do anything and directly states that I should go against the Canadian government.
They deflect the problem to the cruise line stating, "their hands are tied until the cruise line cancels." The cruise line and Atlantis contract have nothing to do with me, and I am not the one that chartered the ship; Atlantis was. Full stop. They are at liberty to provide refunds or, at the very least, travel credits without waiting for the cruise line to cancel the cruise. They just want to protect their corporate bank accounts.
There was a significant outbreak of covid on the ship scheduled for; Atlantis has said absolutely nothing. Their communication and customer service are garbage. Instead, they sent us a list of parties they plan on continuing to host and stated they've only had 5 covid positive cases. Yet, they left out the part about the Norwegian Pearl cancelling their current voyage 1 day into an 11-day cruise because over 50 crew members had become sick.
Atlantis is an event organizer who is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of its attendees. Many of us want to cancel because cruising is no longer safe. Several other events companies have accepted responsibility for their customer's health and offered flexible cancellation. Instead of dealing with the situation, Atlantis has asked us to come to Facebook and sell our rooms. They accept 0 risks of profit loss or any responsibility for chartering a cruise ship in the middle of a pandemic. These ships will sail empty. Yet they list their cruises on their sales pages as "Sold out" because of their terms and conditions, which only protect their own interests. Corporate greed at its finest.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
I have been on 5 Atlantis Event cruises and it has come with deep regret that I have to leave this review. Customer service is atrocious by email. Endless emails back and forward and not answering my queries. Not taking ownership to resolve the issue,
also when you try and call the customer service line the automated options are incorrect. It states press option 5 for the account and it transfers you to reservations answer machine.
The best cruise of my life, never been on a cruise before but I really have fun, made good friends, visited amazing places . 100% recommended.
