I cannot fault the service I received from Rachel Mack. She went that extra mile to ensure that she was able to offer me exactly what I wanted from my river cruise choice. I had many questions and requirements which she dealt with in a friendly, helpful manner whilst remaining professional at all times. It was a pleasure to deal with her, she is a credit to APT.
Very high quality fabulous cruise.
Fabulous boat, immaculately maintained, excellent ports of call, enthusiastic and informative Tour Director, plenty of food and drink, ( though served by less than enthusiastic staff, no eye contact, little rapport ). Overall, an exceptionally good trip. We would strongly recommend APT to anyone considering a small motor yacht cruise.,

The ship was lovely, service and food great. My complaint was leaving the ship at Nuremberg and spending the night in a hotel there and then bussed to Munich for onward transportation home was very trying . Hotel was fine. I returned home and tested positive with COVID. Was obviously on the ship. Not sure what the answer there is. Apart from this it was a lovely holiday.
The whole holiday was so wonderful with amazing staff. We loved it. However the coffee in the coffee machine was terrible. I would go as far as saying it was unpalatable. Most people were drinking hot chocolate or tea instead. Such a shame because the food and service were wonderful.
Firstly the itinerary was fabulous. This boat (cant call it a ship thats too grand-Boat) has been reburbished at what seems like minimal cost, the airconditioning is totaly inefective in both the cabins and the salon where you eat, making it very uncomfortable in August ( when we went ) The cuisine is ample but country style and certainly not what we have been used to on cruises. We were told we could not eat on the open deck because the floor was special wood and would have to be sanded if it got dirty.!On a couple of ocassions the alarms went off- Once in the middle of the night, causing a bright light to come on in the cabin and airconditioning to stop completley- NO staff could be found to sort it out, so it went on for 30 minutes or possibly longer- Not good at 1 am in the morning. I hate to think what would have happened if it had been an emergency. Drinks package - I cant drink still wine and no sparkling wine on offer like on other packaged cruises. I like pinapple juice and even though it was listed as being on the drinks menu I asked three times and the answer was an emphatic NO- Would have been that difficult to buy some at a stop? - I don't think so.Most times when I asked for a tonic with no ice, but lemon the drink came often late or I had to ask twice. No mini fridge in your room so my medicine which had to be kept in a fridge had to be kept in theirs which was awkward to say the least. We had had a fantastic cruise in Cambodia and Vietnam a few years ago with APT before they serviced Europe so we were looking forward to seeing what the quality would be like on this cruise expecting it to be really good. Its quite often the little things that make or break a holiday, We have travelled with many different cruise lines and never been disappointed. I did write a letter explaining our disappointment but were just fobbed off with excuses and tthis was not answered until after the second time I emailed. We WILL NOT travel with APT again. So disappointing.
Overall experience impressed us. The ship was good. The staff were very helpful. We shall travel with you again.
A huge reduction meant that this holiday was extremely good value for money especially as all excursions and tips and drinks were included in this all inclusive holiday. Notable experiences were the opera singer on board ship, the Vienna concert and the royal train. The enforced alteration to the programme due to low water levels was well handled. All the staff were very courteous and attentive. In summary we had an excellent holiday and would not hesitate to travel with APT again
Positive : Great itinerary great. (Particularly Train/ lunch in Budapest, Musical night at Palace of Lichtenstein and Namedy Palace. Fantastic Cruise Director. Very peaceful sailing along the Danube / Rhine. All transfers and general information very good; Negative : Food - poor (3 star). Wine - poor (3 star). No mention that top deck would be closed for 6 days due to low bridges. Shocking cough/infection swept through the boat leaving a lot of passengers feeling low. Not APT fault.
