My vet made the claim. No problems at all, paid the vet directly. Very pleased. I have a life time policy.

the good thing is payment no fuss they pay up, the down size is the amount of money they hike the price increase to, this may be my last year with them as paying £70 plus 20% for illness when my dog is only covered for £1000 it won't be worth it, unfortunately my dog started with allergies so too late to increase the policy cover. No need for Animal Friends to reply as i have read the reply to someones review with the same points as my own

We have had a policy for our 10 year old dog since we got him as a puppy. At an average monthly price of £17.50, that means we've spent roughly £2100 on pet insurance since having our dog. We've claimed on our insurance one other time for a sum of approximately £700. Unfortunately, our dog had an accident in the form of a collision with another dog, which caused his tooth to rupture the nasal cavity and a few days later need to be removed. Animal friends (ironically named) refused to pay out because our policy "doesn't cover dental". Suffice to say, insurance seems a bit pointless. I've since cancelled my policy and will take my business elsewhere.

Only covered a fraction of the price the vet charged for a blood test, it appears they make a small payment towards the cost of treatment based on a price list they use

Didn't like multiple staff dealing with my claim and getting crossed wires and misinformed. Slow to sort claim out due to this issue.
