I have been with anchor since 2017

I have been with anchor since 2017. I recently finished my program 2 years after they had initially said my accounts would be settled. Once my final account was settled, I had about $3800 left over in my account. I was always told this money would be given back. However, I come to find out anchor had taken this money as a ‘service fee’ for the exact amount, to the penny, of my leftover funds. I have called and emailed the only response is “it’s service fee”. I spoke with supervisor Mark who was rude and unhelpful. Let’s not forget that any money saved by their services which was admittedly a lot, I have to pay thousands in taxes for. Also don’t forget that my credit score was decimated for years. From my standpoint this is criminal. Buyer beware!!!! All I want is my left over money!!

I was enrolled in their program…

I was enrolled in their program initially for 48 months. Tack on another 18 months to that and the fact my last draft was supposed to be February 15 yet my checking account was drafted again 2 weeks later. I had to pull my last credit card from the program because I worked with the creditor directly and negotiated a better settlement offer than Anchor Law Firm. Their representatives are liars. I just spoke with James who indicated that unfortunately an extra draft was necessary to make the final payment when in fact it was confirmed when I agreed to the settlement offer my last draft would be February 15 and I would receive a refund of approximately $200 from my savings program account. In looking at my savings account program account it reflects I'm getting a $22 refund. This settlement program is a rip off. Please never do business with Anchor Law Firm. Besides every representative having a different line every time I called, I was also sued for a credit card that was registered in the program. I sent every piece of paper I received from the court but nothing was ever done and my paycheck was garnished weekly for 13 weeks. Anchor Law Firm says they're sorry and here's a 17% refund because the card was removed from the program. Not that Anchor Law Firm ever cared but during the 5-1/2 years, my credit rating was terrible (and still is) and I lost my home. I wish I recorded how many hours of my life were spent calling Anchor Law Firm because they won't call you back. If you write to them they will send you an email directing you to call them. Once they gave me the contact information for my Anchor Law Firm assigned attorney. When I called I was instructed by voicemail to leave a message or text my message. Never spoke with the attorney directly and he mentioned nothing had reached him regarding my account and he referred me back to the customer service telephone number.

Angry.

Not even a one a double zero. We started the program in March of 2017. We already had our saving put into a levy which caused all our bills to get behind still truly have not caught up. That happened in August of 2018 which was their fault. We fought with them for months until the money was finally released but by that time we had so much to catch up on it messed us up. We did our best after that point to constantly stay on top of what was going on in our plan. So we were completely shocked in February 2019 when we received a court order that they were going to garnish my wages because of one of the accounts. The order gave us ten days to send or supply information to prevent it from happening. We proceeded to send Anchor all the info we received about this garnishment. Also called and informed them about it. They told us it was a scare tactic and not to worry about. So we figured they handled it. But what to our surprise when a few days ago my employer informed me that the court order went through and they are hitting my wages. We pay Anchor almost $1000.00 a month so things like this don’t happen and here we are losing money and we were struggling before this even happened. We call, we leave emails, we call the attorneys over and over again and no one answers or calls us back. No one replies at all. This has been a nightmare and It is so sad that they can continue to ignore a problem that is putting me and my family through hell for the amount of money I pay them on time each month.

Very misleading company.

This has been a brutal experience. After 10 months anchor was not able to settle one of my accounts, leaving me with a higher balance and now a closed card. One account settled and another still going. They helped themselves to my account balance for fees and services, taking 5 grand, and leaving me with under $900. Can't wait for the end of this.

Anchor law firm stole my money

Anchor law firm stole my money and didn't pay ANY of my creditors. They don't represent me in court once I started getting sued by my creditors, like they had promised. Do not trust these people. If anyone else had this same Experience and are trying to get their money back from them please email me. I am looking into a class action law suit at this point. I lost almost 7,000.00 from these frauds

Should be zero- they have no actual…

Should be zero- they have no actual lawyers at anchor law. We were told to call a lawyer in New York who never answers the phone. Our monthly payments are not going to an account to pay bills but to service fees for Anchor. All our creditors are suing us & we get no help from the lawyer in New York. He said don’t put any money in the bank. These people are predators

Not much info coming from ALF

I feel I'm not getting enough information from ALF concerning my debt settlement. My understanding was that after 3 months in the program - and I joined in September - my debt settlement process would be underway. I've had one (1) conversation with an ALF rep, who indicated I would be receiving an "offer" to approve before sending it to a creditor - but I've seen nothing yet. In the meantime, the credit cards I didn't put in the program are reducing my credit limit, and my credit score is in ruins because my creditors have not been paid since September (as I was instructed to not pay any, but to forward all statements to ALF). So I'm actually starting to worry about what is happening with my debt settlements.

Not at all good so far...

So far, this is a no from me. I have been on the program for over 9 months and finally, one of my creditors has taken me to court. With the added interest and late fees, I am over 16K in debt with them (11K when I started). Because of that amount, I am in district court. I received my notice of the lawsuit and sent it immediately to Anchor as directed. When the time for my answer to the court grew nearer (no contact from Anchor) I started calling in. When I finally reached someone, they told me that customer service received my documents, but litigation support did not. So now I have only a few days so I have to write the answer myself, pay the fees myself and walk my filing into court. ALL ON MY OWN. That's very intimidating and frightening. I was able to reach someone in Lit support the day before the filing and that person did help me write the answer, but no matter how many times I called, I never got to speak to anyone higher than the person answering the phone. Now, there is a motion for judgement and THE SAME THING happened. I sent it in to both customer service and Lit support and when I emailed to see what was going on, they said they never got it. I am really starting to worry that I made the wrong choice- now my debts are higher than ever and starting to be involved in litigation while I flap around in the wind.

This Law Firm is a ripe-off!

I have been a client for over a year, with the last 3 settlements, everything was at the last minute. I had to call them everyday. Now, the next one is due for a response on 11/29/18. I email them the paperwork on 10/26/18 and as of today, no one is assign to it. They have $1600 of my money sitting in an account. Now they want me to respond to the court w/a $175 fee. Why do I pay you people? You are very bad in what you do and would do.
