Scap Car Comparison provided the best offer having contacted a few companies directly for quotes - a non-running Volvo XC60. Communication was very good at every stage (Email/Text/Phone) and I was paid on the day of collection as promised - I will admit I had my fingers crossed having never used/heard of them before but comforted by the large number of very positive Trustpilot reviews. Would definitely use again (hopefully won't need to) and recommend.

They offer a guaranteed price of £253 for a golf. No quibble and turn up to collect it and say £150 cos of the catalytic converter. It's getting sold for scrap metal !! Driver shows me the other pictures where the catalytic converter is a problem today... if it keeps happening maybe start not Guaranteeing your price. So a joke company in my opinion. Don't bother...

Originally got a quote from National Scrap Car - however, subsequent communications came from Scrap Car Comparison [SCC]. Decided to go with SCC as they had over 2000 mostly positive Trustpilot reviews. Was a bit taken back being asked to donate part of the quoted price to their current charity - prefer to choose my own good causes please. Vehicle buyer given was Auto Well of Dewsbury who don't have an internet prescence and no reviews on Yell - so not sure what to expect. Had a wasted afternoon waiting for collection and had to phone their recovery driver who arranged to pick up the next morning - He phoned to let us he was setting off to us and again when he arrived. The actual Wednesday collection went well - driver was pleasant and efficient and took my bank details for payment. Started feeling uneasy when nothing paid into my account by Friday - as it was due to be paid within 48 hours. On Monday, phoned Auto Well on the mobile number that SCC listed on their email and the money was transferred into my account while I was on the phone. While all the car scrappage sites I looked at [including SCC] have mostly positive reviews, there are still some awful 1 & 2 star reviews and I'm glad this wasn't me. Improvements that can be made... 1 - Prefer not to be asked to donate to a charity. 2 - Recovery Driver needs to phone up to confirm arrival time and any changes. 3 - Payments need to be improved and quicker - mine took 5 days! Hopefully I don't have to go down this route again for a long time - however, other people I know first hand have have sold their scrap vehicles this way and it's worked ok.
