Scap Car Comparison provided the best offer having contacted a few companies directly for quotes - a non-running Volvo XC60. Communication was very good at every stage (Email/Text/Phone) and I was paid on the day of collection as promised - I will admit I had my fingers crossed having never used/heard of them before but comforted by the large number of very positive Trustpilot reviews. Would definitely use again (hopefully won't need to) and recommend.

Unfortunately I have not had the great experience others have. The initial contact with them was great. Efficient, car was collected quickly. Since then I have not been paid in the time frame specified and I have had to make several phone calls and still have not been paid. Update. Had many promises that they are on the case but it seems the problem is they can’t force the scrap merchant to pay The merchant they are using has terrible reviews on this site. I have to say that everyone at the company have been polite and escalated my complaint up to a manager Matt who kept his word and read the scrapyard the riot act and I got paid. I am very happy with scrap car comparison and how they resolved the issue but unfortunately I cannot say the same for Gordon grove scrap yard and I think that they shouldn’t deal with them in the future.

Company didn't accurately specify the vehicle condition to the buyers and this ended up with me getting £300 less than the "guaranteed price." They told the company car was in limp mode when I never said that myself, then when they arrived and car would start but not drive, they said it's classed as a non starter. Just a dirty practice to get a better quote before the company does you over. Copart driver who collected the car even said they do stuff like this to people all the time. The company who purchased was BMS salvage and they had an absolute brain dead as a manager named Cheryl. Had to cheek to tell me I should've known the car wasn't in limp mode as I'm in the industry. Firstly, I never said it was in limp mode, scrap car comparison did. Secondly, I'm not in the industry, she wildly assumed that because I scrapped another car with them 5 years ago. Absolute moron of a woman.

It's stressful enough when you have to sell your vehicle due to painful reasons as a salvage car but the customer service at Scrap Car Comparison was really good and Customer advisor Robert calmly and easy understandably walked me through the process and explained everything and answered all my questions and worries. After my first entry of details of the car the bid I first received was really good but after the following callback the bid was more on the lower side because of the fault on my car. To be objectively fair the bid was more realistic but still a little painful. The "winning" bidder contacted me and the payment and collection of the car was done in a very serious way. I can definitely recommend this service.
