Great alarm system
Air Shield Alarm. The guys installed this last week and the installation was easy, as agreed and very clean. The alarm system is fantastic. The phone app is so easy yet has total control of all devices. There are no holes, no wires and all devices are discrete. The battery life is reportedly up to 4 years and you can change them yourself as you can buy them in shops. The hub is Ethernet and WiFi so you should have a Ethernet port free on you router / an access point to get best service. The hub / main box is a slick white gloss unit and may be visible in your main room. The functionality is great, you can home arm or away arm selecting what sensors are on, you can set times and you have 2 key fobs with buttons ( ideal to give to younger people or family members) you can set some sensors to beep like a door bell on opening ideal for doors, although it dose sound a bit like an off licence door! The Dahua system is one of the most secure wireless systems available using frequency hopping and anti jamming technology. The brand remains on the USA / UK government black list as they site that the Chinese may be able to access. After having this on my network for 10 days I can confirm after using Wireshark software it is not giving out any info , in fact the only device that do and defo share your private info against your will are USA based one is a smart speaker starting with A and ending with a and the other is a car charger starting with T and ending with a so unless you link your alarm to Jeff’s smart speaker , ( not recommended anyway ) or Elon’s car you are safe ! On price you can buy this system as fitted at £595 your self for around £450. The professional installation and the 2 year warranty is well worth the money!
