This is the worst experience I have had with a business in my life… Nothing on their website is clear or designed for ease of the customer. First, we booked the accommodation only to be informed post-booking, that our nature getaway had a construction site next to it which caused noise (enough to disturb other reviewers’ rest). Seeing this after 24 hours, we cancelled as soon as we saw, thinking that we had purchased a cancellation insurance. Apparently due to a bug on their website that didn’t go through. Roompot refused to fix this bug or report to their IT. Only after 4 contacts to their customer service, were we told that the cancellation insurance only works in the event of death or similar. All of this could’ve been solved if there was transparency and ease of use for the customer. The way the platform is built now, you should be prepared to use lawyer-level research every time you book or make any change to your reservation because relevant information will not be presented clearly for you. You also do not know for certain how much you will pay if you cancel at the point of cancellation. Apparently the cancellation charge will include the full safety deposit and the tourist tax (ridiculous). What a shock to find this level of covertness and slyness after using other booking services for years. Count on your luck to not have any issues with Roompot’s service, because they will not attempt to help and you WILL be in the wrong. Service is in the gutters.
