Our tour was amazing. Houssin our guide was inspiring, passionate about his country and friendly, sensitive to the different personalities in the group. He was approachable and helped with all inquiries, no matter how small. Houssin also facilitated our dinners and different requirements. He developed a real rapport with our group. Local guides were articulate and informative.
We had a great tour with 'Seen' our Tour Leader who made everyone feel so welcome. 'Seen' continued this throughout our Trip giving us so much information on all destinations and looking after our welfare. Additionally all the Support Team worked hard to keep us safe, well feed and hydrated always with a smile. So many wonderful memories, good laughs with other Team bike members and new friendships forged. Thank you Intrepid, Dave
Having never been to Turkey previously and as a first time user of Intrepid, we had an amazing tour. We did the Turkey Encompassed tour which was led by Mali who was so knowledgable, a great tour leader and gave us a fantastic insight into the country. Being in a small group was great and so many highlights, would recommend this tour and Intrepid.
Fantastic trip, I have lifelong wonderful memories. Beautiful places, brilliant captain, a great band of fellow travellers all add up to a great week.

We did the 13 day Morocco comfort trip. It was our 2nd Intrepid trip having been to Greece the year before. The itinerary was well detailed and we were looked after really well. Our Guide was the best we have had in all our trips overseas. He was kind,informative, patient and friendly. One of those people who go above and beyond. The accommodation and recommendations we got were excellent. The only hiccup was after our trip where the accommodation booked through Intrepid was at the wrong hotel. However our Guide sorted it out even though it was his day off.
My husband and I did a 15-day cycle tour of Vietnam, starting in Hanoi and ending in Ho Chi Minh and I could not find enough superlatives to describe how much we enjoyed it. The cycling -- very manageable for all levels in our group (some had ebikes) -- was inclusive, fabulous and included everything from huge cities to the most amazing spots off the beaten track. We had the most fabulous group of people -- an eclectic bunch from seven nations -- and our guide Mr Lam could not have been better. His knowledge across history, agriculture, food, culture was second to none and he and his team could not have done more to ensure we got to see and do the best of wherever we were. I tell everyone who will listen this was the most wonderful way to see this astonishing country and I would do another Intrepid cycling tour in a heartbeat.
Went on the ultimate antarctic experience trip an it surpassed expectations. The flexibility and professionalism of the team ensured a wonderful trip. Due to the weather, they reversed the trip to ensure good weather. In the antarctic circle we visited a research station that had not seen a ship in 9 months. Food on board ocean endeavour was equal to large cruise ships and the friendly team always did the extra mile for us. My first trip with intrepid. Most certainly not my last!
I had a really negative experience with Intrepid on my trip to India, and based on this and the response to my complaint following this, I would warn people against using them. My guide was condescending and misogynistic and made many ignorant comments about life in other countries. He continually gave us factually incorrect information about the places we were visiting, and also about details of the trip or failed on several occasions to give us key information. I also had issues with the actual trip i.e. a poor safari experience, and being filmed even after explicitly stating multiple times I didn’t want to be. I also had a significant issue with their tipping system - in that we all contributed the amount asked of us at the start of the trip, to then on the ultimate day be informed by the guide that he had over spent by 80% and was now demanding additional contributions from each of us to cover this- I was frankly deeply shocked that they thought it acceptable to pre-spend the money of the guests without prior discussion, and not informing us at any point that the initial money had ran out. Furthermore intrepid run this trip 3x a week, so I assume they should be well versed in how much they require for the tips, so an 80% over spend seems pretty wild. I would also highlight the guide saw fit to tip in locations where we had clearly expressed we had issues i.e. with the filming and our poor safari experience. The tipping situations, the choice to consistently take us to over priced tourist traps to eat, and coupled with some ignorant comments re money, made me feel like I was being exploited to get as much money as possible from me throughout the trip. Following this experience I did make a complaint and I think their response has been incredibly disappointing. While they have taken some actions in speaking to the guide, there was a number of points I raised especially the tipping which they didn’t take ownership of and simply tried to explain away. They also offered no compensation initially and it was only on pushing them they offered me a very minor amount, meaning they have still profited a significant amount from me taking this trip, which I think most would agree, shouldn’t be the case. Overall, based on the negative experience both on and following the trip, I would strongly encourage you to think twice before booking a trip with Intrepid.
Vietnam Express Southbound The trip lacked cultural immersion, focusing on crowded tourist spots rather than authentic experiences. Lunch stops were at generic, overpriced restaurants instead of local Vietnamese places. The group was mostly retirees, which impacted the experience. Better engagement and transparency on participant age are needed. The guide was patient but could provide more local recommendations.
I cannot overstate what an outstanding organization Intrepid has been to deal with. My husband had health issues on our last trip (Spain/Portugal) and they were nothing but helpful and supportive. While we had travel insurance to cover our shortened vacation, we had used a prior discount voucher to help pay for this trip. They kindly extended it to our next trip, which they didn't have to do. We are very grateful and have found them to be a stand-up organization at every turn, with truly wonderful and unique itineraries.

I’ve always felt safe and comfortable on my Intrepid vacations as the company and its tour leaders are intolerant of any type of violence, harassment, racism, implicit bias or prejudices, fellow travelers may try to display toward each other or the countries the tour is in. The customer service teams at Intrepid diligently worked with me to resolve an issues I came across throughout my trip.Intrepid Tour leaders ensure any medical or urgent needs are a priority for their travelers. Be open minded and tolerant of individuals with differing socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds will make your vacation more enjoyable. In my experience, Intrepid Travel goes above and beyond to give their clients a wonderful vacation experience.
I loved this trip. Our guide, Abdellah, was truly wonderful. Not only was our trip full of variety, interest, mystique and charm, we had someone to lead us who truly is in love with his country, was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and empathetic to the needs and desires of the group. His Yalla Yalla (Let's Go! Let's Go!) spirit and determination kept us all excited and focused on the truly beautiful nature of this country and its people. Abdellah was well-known around the places we went to and was shown great respect and comradery along the way. With his 16 years of experience, he was efficient, humorous, well-educated, and very committed to the communities that Intrepid had chosen to support. The raising up of women through supporting the many cooperatives we visited as well as family businesses was most impressive. Every one of these people were professional, personable and gave us insight of how many Moroccans live and work to support themselves and their families. There wasn't one location where I would say I wouldn't go back to. From the Great Mosque in Casablanca surrounded by a very cosmopolitan city to Fes's medina where it's truly possible to find yourself time travelling to the 14th century for moments at a time, to glamping in the Sahara, to Volubilis--a very well-preserved ruins of the Roman Empire, to the beautiful riads we stayed in, to Marrakech with its Jemaa el-Fnaa town square and medina, to the Atlas Mountains--- every place had it's own story and very different feel about it. We spent a long time travelling in a very nice van with a very good driver, Khalid, and while the journeys were somewhat long at times, that was all diminished by the destinations we arrived at. The colors, textures, smells, sounds and tastes of this country make it a very desirable experience. I want to go back, and I hope I get a guide like Abdellah. He was the best!
