Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

It's fast, highly configurable and reliable

It's fast, I'm using this service as additional cloud backup to me 1-2-3 local strategy and in a few hours all the files were backup. It's highly configurable. A lot of useful configuration. It's cheap, the relationship between capacity, security and reliability is pretty god. Download files is fast and even I can do it from my Phone. Also included a service to send a hard disk to recovery a entirely backup, I guess for disasters. I work as developer in a Telecom Company so I'm currently using another services to share and keep files and to keep a safe copy of my backup files and out of my house, for a reasonable price, this was my choice. Enjoy!

I'm moving to this product from…Carbonite.

I'm moving to this product from Carbonite. The main reason is I need to back up external drives which my current cloud backup does not do. My two internal drives are constipated and needed some breathing room. I'm adding two ext HD that will now also need backing up. I did not realize how long it would take to upload 6TB. It's going very slowly. If there is a way to order an HD to get an initial backup onto that would be great rather than having to upload it all. I gave 4* rather than 5* as I'm not finding it super intuitive in choosing the right/best way to back up. I like that I can use this for backing up to local HDs as well. Maybe another 1/2* for that.

Satisfied customer, but there is room for improvement

We are feeling confident that our data is safely backed up and that is a relief! Our learning curve with the user interface was a little longer than expected, but we seem to understand things now. We appreciate all the FAQs and many were very helpful, but notice some have screen shots from earlier versions of IDrive, so it would be helpful to update!

Great price and simple to use

IDrive has received great reviews and for good reason. The price is very competitive and it just works. The interface is straight forward and simple to use. Whether using the application or web interface, it's easy to navigate if you need to restore any of your files. IDrive has given me peace of mind knowing my most important files are securely backed up.

iDrive is inexpensive and effective

iDrive is inexpensive and effective. I set up an account to back up a few mobile devices. My only feature request after getting everything configured would be to have devices backup to their own respective folders. Other than that iDrive has been a great solution.

So far it has backed up my files and it has not exceeded my quota. I have not yet tried to restore a backup yet so can't give it a full 5 stars yet. So far better than Backblaze.

Migrating to iDrive

I'm in the process of migrating 6TB of my personal data to iDrive from a competitor, due to the massive cost saving (in this range of data, about 7-8x cheaper). So far, it has been a smooth experience, in the initial tests, it's proven to be fast and reliable and, unlike the competitor's app, also has no issue with searching the data for changes and making sure of complete coverage. The app (on macOS) could do with a bit of a refresh to conform to the normal UI standards, but since most of the time it's running hidden, it's not an issue, and there are no usability issues I've met. Only wish the app could support multiple backup jobs with multiple datasets to be able to allocate a more granular schedule. So far, I can recommend this service.

I recently moved a few of my clients…

I recently moved a few of my clients and my personal machines to iDrive from Backblaze. The only issues I had with BB were the pricing and limited devices per account. So far, iDrive has been great with no issues encountered. The fact that I can have multiple devices on a single account is fantastic as we often have several, smaller capacity devices to backup. Hopefully, this level of service continues and I'll begin migrating more to this great product.
