HWRK Magazine receives high praise for its quality articles and professional layout, particularly appealing to educators and teachers. Reviewers appreciate the insightful content and the magazine's relevance to current educational issues, often highlighting the contributions from teachers themselves. Many customers express satisfaction with their experiences, noting the helpfulness of the staff and the positive impact of advertising in the magazine. However, a significant number of reviews raise concerns about aggressive sales tactics, with some labeling the company as a scam due to experiences with cold calls and unfulfilled advertising promises. Despite these negative reports, the overall sentiment remains largely positive, with many recommending HWRK Magazine as a valuable resource for educators.

So I've been reading the May 2022 Edition whilst also penning my first article - is that “gamekeeper come poacher?” What struck me was just how relevant and varied the articles were to my experiences of education, how close they were to the chalkface, to real teachers, to real teaching. This Edition was very pedagogy-practical, others showcase Primary and I am looking forward to the next Edition’s SEND piece. Over a handful of Editions, you hear from across the piste. In writing the article, I have to say that Andy the Editor was very appreciative and supportive and who doesn't benefit from taking a little time to clarify their own thinking. So if you're thinking of sharing your expertise, I’d encourage you to do so.
Would not give any stars if I had a choice. I am still waiting to receive this magazine link or hard copy I was promised and see the advert I paid for published. I paid for this advert last June and have never seen it published, despite more than 7 months to get the advert sorted, and being told it would be published the next day. It is all lies they keep telling you about their services! If I ever get the magazine, then perhaps I can be complimentary of the articles and authors and provide a good review, but as it stands, stay away from any cold calls and marketing with this and other magazines that cold call!!
Great teaching hearing from a range of voices. I like the varied topics across education themes which means there’s something for everyone.
The whole process of writing for HWRK was a pleasure - Andy is very contactable and helpful! I’m a regular reader of the publication and I think it’s really refreshing to have an independent magazine out there for teachers, for a unique take on the hot topics. Would recommend.
Great selection of honest and valuable articles. Andy is a brilliant editor to work with if writing articles too.
I published an article in this magazine, and it was a real honor. They share work from some powerful UK luminaries and also provide a space for teachers to write for other teachers. What a wonderful resource -- and so well designed, too!
The magazine is a much needed addition to the world of teachers who write
Have recently had advertising in HWRK and found the process easy and straightforward from start to finish. All of the communications were clear and I can see it has driven further traffic to my site. Would highly recommend working with HWRK.
Excellent magazine.
Very good content. Well managed magazine. Communicated very well with me as a freelance writer.
Articles on very important topics. Evidence-informed and from a wide range of contributors. Useful to all teachers wanting to improve their practice.
This is a great resource for teachers. Filled with thought provoking articles and sound practical advice from a range of sources.
Great team producing a great magazine
I will state before I continue with this review, I would not have awarded any stars, given the choice. In the summer of 2021, I received a cold call to purchase an advert in the HWRK Magazine for their bully’s campaign. The design team presented me with a boring black and white design with information they seemed to have got from Yell or other free business sites. I told them that this was not suitable, particularly, because some of the information was not correct and more importantly it had no contact details for customers to contact me about my services. I was told this could be changed, but when I was provided with the website link of what I believed was the published summer version of the magazine, it indicated the exact same advert with no contact details, which and was only distributed to the education and teaching subscribers in Essex. Strange! I was originally told the magazine was distributed to education subscribers i.e., teachers, headteachers, etc., in the UK. I was assured the magazine had not been published and the advert would be changed, where I went along with the design teams suggestions and contributed photos, which I was told would aid the artwork of the advert. However, yet again the same boring black and white advert with no contact details were displayed in the next published (or not!) online version. I contacted the editor to ask for a refund, because of the handling of the advert from the design team. I also wrote a review in Trust Pilot and because of that I seemed to then have attracted HWRK’s attention, where I received a phone call from them at HWRK to withdraw it, with the assurance this time they would do something about the advert I had paid for to be published for a year in the next 4 issues in the UK. We are a further two months on, it is now almost February of 2022, and still no communication. I do not know if it has been updated (even though I provided two email contact addresses) or has been published or otherwise as I have not had any magazine link or other to evidence to support whether my advert has been published, or what it might look like!! I am so disappointed, not just with them but myself for letting this charade continue. I do not have to keep contacting this magazine, and to keep listening to the apologies of this saga when someone does make contact. I have paid money for nothing, there obviously does not seem to be any contractual obligations. Whereby, I will not be pressured with false promises again, nor will I withdraw this review. I am still getting cold calls from HNQ, which is associated with HWRK Ltd and saying that I have agreed to the advert and still must pay for the advert, when it has already been paid for. I have already started to act on all of this. Following on from this experience where I author educational and health articles for professional magazines, which are published regularly. Yet one advert struggles to get the teachers, educators even public attention, because it is either the same black and white advert with no contact details, misrepresenting the information of the services I offer, or it just has not been published! I know I will not be marketing in this or any other publication again.
HWRK magazine is written by people who are still within the classroom, as well as beyond, to give an up-to-date view of the current climate of education. With thought-provoking and interesting reads, it's a brilliant magazine for anyone within the educational sphere.
