Order something 7 days ago online for…

Order something 7 days ago online for store pickup website says in stock, almost immediately it got cancelled citing out stock. I tried use ship to store for pickup option got email saying will notify when there, then customer service emails saying they don't do that even though website says they do. Checked today site still says in store for pickup. Very bad customer service and poor communication and business practices with franchise and head office

Rotten salad/ freezer burnt burgers

I bought a box of burgers for 12 dollars. When I got them home to cook them, there was about 1/4 inch of ice all around the burgers. I don't know for sure but it looks like the burgers unthawed and then frozen again. They have salad on the shelf that is so rotten it is turning to liquid. If I could give a zero I would.

Buyer beware...Magic Hose with Bonus

Buyer beware...Magic Hose with Bonus; Nozzle, 25-ft. Worst junk I've ever bought. After 2 uses less than a month the hose split in the middle. I cut the hose off at the split and reattached it only waiting to see how long it will last this time. Ps. After examining the internal hose it was made with a very low quality rubber hose that had cracks all along the entire length. Even though the price was low it's still a waste of money since I got only 2 uses out of it.

They are switching out known products…

They are switching out known products for their new own label products and at same time removing many products. I have been shopping there for at least 20 years, in last month becoming very disappointed and unsatisfied. New management maybe and if so they have become very profit oriented. Will not be shopping there as often for sure.

Changed my review

I formerly gave a 5 star rating for GT but after this ongoing issue, have changed my rating. I consistently give my local GT a lot of business. There is one cashier that I seem to get most of the time; she is overtly abrupt and rude, bordering on being outright nasty. Today I spent over $80. and had to bag everything myself. She busied herself with impatiently throwing a box off the counter onto the floor and fidgeting around. When I have quite a few items, I help to bag to speed up the process. This one didn't offer to help and I held up the line as there were quite a few items for me to bag by myself. She just wanted my purchases out of the way and started to cash through the next customer before I even had the chance to bag all of my things. I'm really done with her ongoing unjustified and unacceptable attitude. I don't know what her problem is. She shouldn't be dealing with the public if she can't at least be civil with the people that pay her wages.

You'll beat any competitors by charging…

You'll beat any competitors by charging an entire penny less for like products, but you'll specifically order ones in unique sizes that aren't in other stores somehow. "Canadian business" with not a scuff of proof. Show me the list of your company stock holders and I'll eat my words if 90+% of them aren't Asian.

Low Variety, Low Quantity Limit, Prices Keep Getting Higher, Rude Floor Staff

**This is for Giant Tiger as a whole (particularly in Hamilton). TL;DR at bottom. The staff at checkout is always friendly but we usually opt for self-checkout when it's an option. The staff on the floor in the clothing section is always rude and confrontational. There was a trivial incident last year where we had accidentally banged our shopping cart into a metal sign while trying to get out of someone's way, and some elderly employee came over to glare at us and ask 'what the hell happened, what was that noise?!'. We apologized and said the cart hit the sign and chuckled about it, while she continued to glare at us for a good 30 seconds before walking away... but she monitored us the rest of the time we were in there. ??? We've had multiple incidences of clothing section floor staff staring at us/watching us just for walking around and looking at clothes -- it's very uncomfortable. The prices keep going up but the quality doesn't improve. I like the quality of GT products, though the options/variety are lacking, and everything is more expensive than Walmart now, so my family and I quit buying clothes from GT. We occasionally buy groceries from here though, because they carry stuff a little cheaper than other stores, or they carry stuff no other store carries (like certain brands and types of frozen fish, or frozen mozzarella sticks), but again, the overall variety is hugely lacking. There's also a very small quantity limit. Where Walmart may allow unlimited soup, GT limits you to 4-6 cans, for example. There's also an ongoing problem of their website stating they carry (XYZ) item, but the stores have been out of stock for over a year straight and removed the shelf section for these items -- items that only GT carried. They do have a lot of decent sales, but items sell out almost immediately and don't get restocked at all during the sale, making the sales pointless for most folks after Day 1, Hour 1 of the sale. Finally, they aren't great with plant upkeep when they sell plants. They're always dying/wilting and either super overwatered, or drier than a Sahara desert. (If you've never been to a GT and want to know, they're like a Mini Walmart -- Clothing, some weird books, perfume, bathroom/toiletries/shower items, pet care, cleaners, food/snacks, pillows/blankets/bedroom stuff, towels and bathroom stuff, plants, Christmas/Holiday decor, birthday/holiday cards, kids' toys and candles. They carry paper bags and reusable bags, and usually have regular checkout and self-checkout.) I like GT, and I still shop there occasionally, but it gets worse each year and isn't really worth it anymore aside from 2-3 grocery items nobody else carries. TL;DR 1. Very low variety of items, items sell out fast and are not promptly restocked sometimes for weeks 2. Prices keep going up but quality stays the same 3. Very low quantity limit 4. Mix of nice and rude staff 5. No bathroom -- they have a Customer Bathroom, but they quit allowing customers to use it and keep it locked 6. Frequent sales on yummy items that only GT carries... but they sell out immediately and aren't restocked at all during the sale 7. Poor plant care

I been to the stores I go there every…

I been to the stores I go there every week and I never get what it’s advertised I don’t know why they even bother to put items on the flyer and they don’t have any this is almost always that they don’t have anything like you advertise yogurt this week I went to the store on Kennedy every day and nothing a few weeks ago I went for the Pepsi and they only had the zero sugar so I don’t understand why bother to put something in the flyer if you are not going to have it in the store I even went to the store on Lawrence and didn’t have any there either I think they’re is false advertising so I’m not going to be shopping from there anymore i can understand if you run out one day but I went there every day since Wednesday and they are all out and when you ask they just tell you we don’t have any no apologies or we’re going to get some tomorrow nothing they are so rude I’m a customer and you need some better customer service

No actual price match guarantee

Giant Tiger claims to have a price match guarantee however this is nothing but a lie while sure they might price match there are so many caveats and other stringent rules in place that the price match guarantee doesn't actually mean anything. Their price match guarantee does not apply to promotional items. Sale items. Discounted items. Seasonal items clearance items or limited quantity items. Furthermore, their price match guarantee is fully at the stores discretion and only applies to stores within a 1 km radius of the giant tiger store. They define a local store as being within one kilometer of their store and assuming even if it is within 1 km, they will likely find some other excuse to not honor their price match guarantee. Given the fact that it doesn't apply to sale items, promotional items, discounted items, or basically any other flyer item you're going to find. It also doesn't apply to seasonal items, clearance items, limited quantity items, specially items, or basically anything else. If you can find something that they're price match guarantee applies on and find something that's within a 1 km radius of the store, they might price match maybe, but that's doubtful because it's always a stores discretion anyways and the store is probably not going to do it I have made several attempts contact giant tiger regarding this matter and I am yet to hear back from anybody. I have emailed them numerous times. I have called them. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau. I have done everything. They will never respond. It's clear that they don't actually care. I'm only posting here so the people know never to go to giant tiger because they're a bunch of liars

Just woDondering if people bought the all…

Just wondering if people bought the all sorts Marche Brand at Giant Tiger because if you did then you know where I'm coming from. The candy were so hard that I wouldn't serve them to anyone for christmas. I do however intend to return them with my receipt. I think Giant Tiger should be ashamed of themselves for selling this product without checking the freshness of it first.Take my advice Don't Buy It.

Went shopping today at Giant Tiger

Went shopping today at Giant Tiger. I have to ask why any business would hire someone so sour? Her name was Alice and she was on cash. This lady should not be in customer service. She was rude, no smile, no thank you, even when I said thank you to her there was no response, just a grumpy look. Not worth going to the store for.

I was shopping at Giant Tiger Moodie Dr location and was pleasantly served by an Associate named Jennie and she was a great customer service rep and very helpful to find all we needed sinse we did not love in the area ,was a great help to me and my friends .Will shop there often ! Thanks a lot !

Why is it that every time I attend at…

Why is it that every time I attend at this store I have issues? I was there today, looking for socks that were 2 for $6.00 and asked a lady on the floor and once again got a negative reply. " you must be wrong, I've never seen that item etc, etc, etc. Does each individual store stock certain articles, even if they are on the site when I search the store on the site? Or do the staff simply not put stock out ? I'm not doing this again.....I drive 60 miles to go there......no more. P.A. sucks!
