chuffed with how G&M handled my query. Dead easy to sort out.
Ethan was friendly and knowledgeable and, from the outset, he made what could have been a difficult subject (my not wanting to renew) very easy to discuss. He made me almost feel like signng up again!
I had a fantastic experience overall with G&M, right from the initial quote stage through to a recent claim. All my questions were answered by the sales team. They never made me feel rushed or pressured. When it came to making a claim for some physiotherapy, the claims team was extremely helpful and efficient throughout.

Unfortunately I have made several health insurance claims over the past few years. Each time the claims process was made easy by the excellent staff. My last claim was particularly distressing to me and it was handled in a most helpful and sympathetic manner, and settled very quickly. The staff take the worry out of the process at a time when one is laid low by a health problem.
Good customer service. Good initial premiums. A selection of levels of cover to suit most needs The down side is the potential increase in premiums once claims are made
Bit slow to approve claims, and seem to need lots of bits of paper, but that's probably standard for the industry. Premiums creeping up, on account of me getting older. Shame that the Tories won't fund the NHS properly, but it's more important for rich people to pay less tax I suppose, used to be able to get to see a dermatologist in 4 weeks on the NHS, now 16 weeks and climbing.
Untrustworthy company.. beware buying health cover from this people. They will find all loopholes possible not to pay your claim. Call centre people are also sweet but have one aim to fob the customer off. Happy to take premium for nearly 5 years. Please save your money and trust NHS then paying this bogus company.
Really good company, efficient and helpful staff. Been with them a number of years and never had a problem with their service
My first experience of making a claim and I am very very disappointed in the delays. Having to provide a full medical history and wait for a decision from the underwriter. Have been with BUPA and AVIVA and their call centre staff were able to reget me immediately. Will not be renewing with these clowns
Very easy to renew my insurance, it covers everything I need at a reasonable price. I havent yet made any claims but Im sure there will be no problems.
There is always a delay between talking to someone at General and Medical saying one needs to see a specialist, and getting the "go ahead". They put this down to needing to check up with their broker. This is most disconcerting as the reason you are seeing a specialist privately is to avoid the NHS waiting list and be able to get a diagnosis and treatment quickly. You should not have to wait for a broker's opinion. The staff taking the calls should have sufficient medical knowledge, and knowledge of what is covered by each insurance band to give you an immediate answer. It should also be accepted that certain tests and treatments will be done immediately on the first consultation with a specialist, and one should not have to ring up again to ask for "permission" to have them done. It should also be remembered that the person ringing is ill or in pain and is worried. They need gentle handling and reassurance that at least they will not have to worry about the money side of their treatment. Again this involves training of your operatives. I have however, never had problems with the payment of medical bills but I do pay over £5,000 a year in contributions!
